Akane’s haircut ✂️

For no particular reason, the other day I found myself sketching Akane Tendo in my sketchbook. As a teen I was such a huge Ranma 1/2 fan, I collected the manga and taped the anime on VHS obsessively. But I had never realized how big of an influence on my stile is Rumiko Takahashi, it just feels super natural for me to draw her characters.

Gouache time! 🎨✨ Bueno, realmente son "poster colors", que según he leído se diferencia un poco al gouache, se fusionan/degradan con más facilidad peeero no son tan resistentes a la luz. De todas maneras, si son para hacer estudios en cuadernos no hay problema 👏. Me queda por probar los "himi/gelly gouache", esos que vienen en cajas de colores super monas pero que me da que tampoco son de gama profesional 🤔. Hi! 💕 This is a little gouache painting I made for the lovely and talented @iraville 🥰 It's her Animal crossing character, it's so cute (I hope you don't mind I post it here! 🙈). I used a Japanese paper that I received as Christmas present last year and I didn't know what use it for. I have a collection of beautiful papers (paper addict here 🙋‍♀️) and sometimes it's difficult to just make the decision to use them 😆 (because yeah, they just deserve special occasions that never comes... 🙄). Anyway, I am learning to use all these wonderful materials without fear because not using them would be a waste. Here is this evening’s asset test I wanted to share of the same level as yesterday’s 💚 these double up as set dressing pieces as well - Bob gives me his greyblocked level design from Unity, which I then build the levels up over the top with the assets in Photoshop to match the gameplay. . . Bob then dismantles the Photoshop file to pull the assets off and into sheets before rebuilding them again in Unity, with the colliders, mechanics and physics already in place. . . It gives us both a lot of creative freedom and is the best way we’ve found of working as I can customise the assets depending on their neighbours, warping and bending where necessary to achieve the look I want.
