Sav! I’m seeing Panic! At the Disco tonight! I can’t remember if I’ve seen you post about Brendon but I was wondering if you’d listened to Pray for the Wicked and if so, what you thought of it? It’s actually my favorite Panic album to date, and at least for me, I feel like it just mastered that line between music with depth and music that’s ~listenable. It’s reeeally excellent!

I listened to ‘hallelujah’ over and over and over again when it came out a couple of years ago, but I haven’t listened to p!atd extensively, no! I went through this phase in my teens of not liking happy-sounding music, so I feel like I missed the boat with them! I did listen to that most recent album though and I just remember LOVING all the horns they had going on! what are some of ur favs you’d recommend??

I went to the Nashville show and Thomas Rhett, Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum, and his wife Cassie were all there! I think actually a lot of his friends have turned up!

HE LOOKED SO HOT, and when he was singing Seeing Blind @myaimlessuniverse and I were saying he looked even MORE country. Ahh bless our chameleon fav. And nothing about that whole joyful live stream was fine. NOT. FINE.

Yesterday when Niall said he’s excited for the CMAs because it’s just straight-up music with no “flash bang” like other awards shows, I kind of developed a whole new level of respect for him? Without slamming other shows, he managed to make a really mature statement about how he personally most enjoys music. That being, when it’s in its simplest, purest form. Idk, that’s what I thought anyway :) love when you do this btw!

Ohhhh i have to say I'm not so sure what you (or niall) are talking about with this, I'm not so into award shows, I am very into Niall tho and I can definitely agree with you on how Niall has such a way with his words. He always knows how to formulate perfect sentences where he very subtle gives you his opinion without making it seem like a big deal. Or even when it’s not about opinions but regular stuff, he just has a way with his words, how he speaks, he’ll never insult someone (unless they really deserve it) publicly and he just always knows exactly what to say and how to say it. Niall is legit an angel. And Niall liking music in the simplest and purest form... is his album not such a reflection of that? Not saying that his album is simple but so very very pure and so very very Niall... when he’s singing in the echo room for flicker, or with the live band/musicians in the room. The Apple movie just shows that Niall enjoys making music so much it’s just so wonderful to see how much this man is living his dream and passion and how he wants to do everything the right way and so perfectly. Alright lemme get some tissues and wipe some tears, this has gone deep enough. And I love doing this too because I love getting messages like this, so thanks very much! :)

Second, I wondered if you were a fan of Maren Morris prior to Niall's announcement / what your thoughts are on her music, if you've listened to it? I'm not a country person, or at least I wasn't, but today out of pure curiosity I listened to the entirety of "Hero," her album, and I'm HOOKED. She's... so good?! Like...

(2/2) Lyrically, I think her songs have a unique wit to them, especially for someone so young. Her use of metaphors/imagery/recurring themes just keeps you completely engaged all the way through the album, and I found myself getting excited when I spotted clever little plays on words, or like, actually verbalizing "Yessss!!!" during songs like "Drunk Girls Don't Cry" because they're so damn relatable? Anyway, I was NEVER a country girl, but damn, Niall has a good ear, and I'm sucked right in.

aw, thanks very much!! and no, not really! i think he posted something on insta or snapchat of her over the summer, so i looked her album up then and listened to it a bit, but when we found out she was coming on tour, as well, i certainly listened to it more! i’ve talked a little about her music before, but i really enjoyed it, too!! it definitely feels like a fresh take on country (but to be fair, i think most female country artists are way better than the cliche i think most people expect) with the bits of rnb and rock mixed in! you can definitely tell she’s been a career songwriter, because the writing on the album is SO good! i’m partial to ‘my church’ and ‘80s mercedes’ but i think she does well what a lot of artists do poorly, which is to make something resonant original. i’m so glad you found something new that you liked!!
