The speculation that the tinhats have been tossing around the last couple of days (Darren ghost-writing music for big pop artists) is exactly how their new “facts” get added to their list. They spend a few days making up some BS and then later they will refer back to it as if it’s a proven fact.

1. This IS EXACTLY HOW batshitcrazy cc lies get turned into facts. Roughedreconteur is nuts- their posts are always insane with tangents that nobody else would ever imagine. Abby used to disagree with them as they don’t seem to actually like Darren but lately, they are coming in with things that don’t offend her and she plays along, pretending that Rouged’s nutjob ideas are valid- it’s the US media pretending that when Trump makes a statement that is an outright lie it’s ok to repeat it likes it true or makes sense instead of calling him out. This time Abby really got swept up in the idea that Darren said on his Text message that he was almost “out of the woods”. Those of us who live in reality know that “out of the woods” is a commonly used saying that many people use to contact they are almost done with the worst of it- whether that is an illness “Dr, is he out of the woods yet?” or work-related projects like Darren did or just like what Trump thinks is happening now that McConnell already said he was “lock-step with Trump” because he doesn’t understand that he has already been impeached and that won’t go away, ever or literally you are coming home from a hike and you almost “out of the woods"ba-dum-pa. It wasn’t a reference to Taylor Swift’s song. Taylor does actually write her music, she started out as a writer when she was 15. Ironically, one of the tinhatters mentioned that Darren went to a Taylor Swift concert and her mom hugged him- that may have happened but I know for sure he went to a T.Swift concert and Taylor was walking down the aisle from her outer stage back to mainstage and she saw him and hugged him and I know this becuase I was there. This is the sum total of the evidence they going on to arrive at “Darren wrote ‘Out Of The Woods” and was referencing it.

2. One only needs to spend 4 min with Wikipedia to realize that Taylor and Jack Antanoff wrote the damn song- not Darren Criss.

4. I am also pretty sure that Columbia dropped Darren’s album because they believed it wasn’t commercially viable. Record labels don’t care if the singers like their albums. Lots of people have had music they didn’t like released anyway. Record labels are out to make money and they will do whatever they can to recoup expenses they spent on making the album but putting out a nonviable album is even more expensive and sometimes they cut their loses. Darren certainly didn’t have the power to shelf his own album or to cut some drug deal with the company to ghostwrite to what? Pay them back for the expense or to Ghostwrite until he’s paid off some arbitrary debt? But as you pointed out- the Taylor and Mariah weren’t on Columbia when Darren was (Mariah was at some point)

As for how they got to Mariah Carey- Darren sang Mariah Carey on Lip Sync Battle and “he has no known connection to her” and according to Abby and Rouged, people always sing songs connected to them (I don’t watch it much but I’m pretty sure that isn’t true). It looks to me like Darren was slotted into a show that was clearly just a Mariah tribute. I suspect it had to do with timing and nothing more. Lots of people battle someone they are connected to but that isn’t a requirement. Rouged claimed the star he battled was LA Reid (It was Jermaine Dupri). Jermaine co-wrote and produced many of Mariah's biggest hits although Heartbreaker written by Mariah and Jay-Z and produced by DJ Clue. Rouged argued that LA Reid is connected to Mariah Carey (he was- he was her label head for many years). When someone pointed out that it was Jermaine, not LA Reid, Rouged’s excuse was she can’t tell the difference between LA Reid (who is 63 years old), Jermaine Dupri (who is quite short and 47 years old), and P Diddy (who is 50). Dude, those 3 men look nothing alike.

6. Nobody even mentioned Rouged’s nonsense about how Ryan Murphy wanted to get song rights quickly so he had the cast themselves work their magic to obtain those rights WTAF? I am quite sure that the process for obtaining rights was something the legal department did and it wasn’t like Ryan called up the singer and asked- it would have been something official done through their representatives. Clearly, Chris Martin said “no” so we know they had input but it still wasn’t Ryan called Chris and Chris said “no” but later he said “yes” and that was that- no legal papers were signed.

Abby and Flowers are trying to make Mariah’s butterfly thing and Chris’s Butterfly IGs into something so Abby claimed Chris posted a pic of himself in front of the butterfly mural “before the battle”. Well, yes he did...it’s dated August 2018 which is before Darren’s Jan 24, 2019, Lip Syn Battle...on that, she isn’t wrong LOL.

This is honestly one of the most harebrained theories I’ve read to date as it relies entirely on multiple things that aren’t even real

So, I think it is possible that “Royalties” may spoof some very famous “songwriters.” That IS the premise, and D has set him and an M type “just ugh” up as a “songwriting team.” One that is, in THAT clip, not so great, and in fact terrible. But, D is in deep with the professional songwriters guild. THAT, is fact. But why, exactly? Is he “ghostwriting” for someone famous for writing ALL their own songs? Mariah just got into their Hall of Fame, gossip is she wrote nothing much, all ghosted.

So, Royalties? Will it make fun of that type power pop star? Will they be credited, or “ghosted” so the star gets all or most of the credit? Mariah is not the only power pop star D has been associated with, in strange but oddly significant ways. It is very telling that most celebs on Lip Sync Battle compete against a former co-star, “significant other,” or old pal. Not D, and that meant something. L.A. Reid has a long connection with Mariah. To the public, D has no connection with either.

So, when you do a Mariah tribute on a show as kitschy popular with superfans of celebs as Lip Synch Battle, you would OF COURSE pick L.A. Reid, who is a power producer of more than a little questionable reputation and no real entertainer on his own, really, but well connected as her long-time producer/rumored former lover/long time cheerleader and friend. And D. Who is WHAT to them both, exactly? That whole thing NEVER made sense, except that D BECAME Mariah, and stole that show. Hmmmm…

Who else does D know that is a huge star that writes their own songs? In fact, is known for that, even critically praised, well above her singing abilities? Tay/lor. He was at one of her concerts, and was greeted in the crowd by her mom. He has been behind her in another venue, they have crossed paths. At this point, she has certainly been managed, or managed herself, much better than Bieber, her male counterpart. IF she has ghostwriters, they would be well-hidden and tightly secured.

Hello @rougedraconteur. Cough, cough, hack indeed. I will never believe some random person went and deleted posts and blocked people from a band’s SM that most people have never heard of. In my opinion, inside job, meant to send a direct message, which to us is unclear, but the recipient received it, of that i have no question (I have wondered if D has tried to withhold the new EP, nothing else much makes sense especially in light of his brother seemingly struggling to pay the bills).

Really interesting on the song reference in the tweet “once I’m out of the woods”, I have never heard that song, but wow, how close is this to what i perceive as reality? This could BE D and now that i understand the reference, just like i think he wrote the tweets from NYE when he said “and here we are now, I made it, we made it. I’ve been looking forward to to this for a long time…the Soaring Twenties…seeing clearly in 2020”, I am starting to lean he wrote these tweets that indicated he was “tending to some other obligations” (which include a fake wedding, endless promotion for Swiller, Fashion Shows, Family Honeymoon in the Philippines, TB commercials and other endless adds, and promoting SK). Far too smart for the Jumping Jackass or PBB. And well, in combination, an interesting series of tweets.

Dare I hope that perhaps D is really optimistic about the year ahead? Because add in the HW stuff (on 2 most anticipated queer shows of 2020 lists, the reference to SB being leaked, what we know about the other characters, what we don’t know about Raymond, and the otherwise silence about the show), things are, shall we say, interesting.

On R/oyalties, a/k/a the show that is used to pay out every user/leach in his life (SK, RR, PBB, Algorithm Winners, etc), my understanding, and it is limited, is that they are in fact writing songs for popular, mainstream artists. Unclear if they are named songwriters or if they will be “ghosting” for people and based on the fact that the first artist is played by CT, I would venture to guess that they talent isn’t that amazing, so yes in many ways, making fun of the talent and pointing out that behind most of these mainstream acts are writers we never know or see.

On D himself ghosting, quite possible right? It could explain a lot. Including, if he bought it, being pushed to buy a $3 million home for his beard (which could possible be an agreed upon pay out). I have always wondered how D got out of his record contract and this just might be an explanation. Perhaps he agreed that instead of releasing his own music that was not authentically him, he agreed to write music for other artists that may or may not include the above reference individuals? No question, his spot on Lip Sync Battle was odd if there is no association to MC and yes, she has a clear and obvious connection to to L.A. This is no question, something to think about and ponder. He is an incredibly talented songwriter who, to date, has not released, that we are aware of, a ton of material. It would make sense if he is writing for others and I would guess ghosting would pay well. You definitely made me think.

Once ‘he’s out of the woods’. It may be a reference to a TS song, but considering the location for the sham was in the woods I would like to hope he’s near to escaping and out of the woods soon 😉.

I like this, and I like Tay/lor, although that is a recent development, on my part, but I think she is coming more into her own with more near total control over HER mammoth “overnight” breakout career than she ever had before. Remind you of somebody? Getting there, anyway. And yeah, some folks have to write under another name, for various reasons.

Butterfly IS a Mari/ah Car/ey Trademark, but it is for Tay, too. She posted a giant butterfly on a wall in Nashville with her most recent album. Not saying we are right, in either case or with the connections, but I believe you should look at everything and how it might connect, as a possible piece of this puzzle. Mar/iah was recently inducted into Songwriters Hall of Fame, as a recent piece of gossip I saw stated, though she was unqualified for it. Ghostwriters who CAN’T be revealed because the celeb and management won’t allow it, as detremental to the Big Star who is a MoneyMaker.

Can anyone verify that D’s old roomie Je/ff Jerni/gan, who went with D to Ka/tyPer/ry’s western bday party, around 2012 or 2013 maybe, during THOSE years, was with ASCAP in some “official” capacity, and that his sister worked in a big-sounding job with F/ox At that time? Connections. I know JJ has moved on now, but D has always been involved with ASCAP and recognized as a SONGWRITER, even by Gl/ee and RIB, and hung around with other songwriters and big pop stars kind of above his pay grade at the time, if you get my drift.

Think of the swiftie songs both D AND C have sung or lipsynced to in their online posts. They connect to at least some of her stuff in SOME way. And that’s a fact.

ajw720 Just adding a few significant facts. The Human EP was released on my birthday in 2010 (July 20) a few months prior to rocketing to stardom, seemingly giving him an even bigger platform to have his music heard. Since that time, D has released very few original songs (almost 10 years) even though we know he was signed to a record deal with Columbia for several years and he has told us that he wrote and recorded many songs for an eventual album that was never released. He even spent an entire summer in the UK writing songs with people like B/runo M/ars. And Columbia funded a summer tour to test his songs and popularity. A tour that sold out. So what has D released?

1 Solo EP with 4 original songs, one of which he claimed was written many years ago when he 1st performed it (untrue written during LU) and 1 of which he has given his brother credit for writing the chorus.

In 10 years, he has released FOUR solo tunes, FOUR, despite being signed to a huge contract. FOUR, on an indy label. And I believe he only released them because he was forced by contract as he owed it to the Jumping Jackass (hence the name H/omework, a chore that has to be done). And a total of, not including R/oyalties, maybe 30 including a musical for his theater group that was performed 9 years ago. Where has all his music gone? Now, I am certain he is holding back on solo tunes because he does not want them associated with PBB. But still, it is a least worth questioning.

Tay is still playing the game: it is too soon to do this yet

hate to be the bearer of bad news

warning: this is a looooong analysis of the Gaylor fandom, the Rep era and the new era.

so us Gaylors were kinda enamoured with the queer context of the beginning of the Rep era. she dropped a few tunes that had people who used to believe her man-crazy reputation googling Karlie Kloss, wrote a nice little declaration about how everyone looking for specific men in her new songs is wrong, changed from outfits designed for the male gaze into something more comfortable and had a British unknown with a wonky relationship timeline as the public muse of the album. All is well, we thought - she is literally burning her Reputation, she will let people come to their own conclusions, she will take the money, they will both ditch the boyfriends and come out.

And hey, maybe that was the planned narrative in the beginning. But both boyfriends are still here, and one has been updated into a husband (with two separate highly publicised wedding parties). Now the new narrative is that Taylor will let people figure out things more and more - which is inextricably linked to Karlie, whose boyfriend wanted the “het card” so bad that he has to marry Karlie twice before she is released. They all want to erase Kaylor so deeply that they have to spend years in these new golden cages, but at the same time, Karlie will not even block instagram comments that call out her marriage as fake and Taylor will not stop people from writing articles about her that keep referencing Karlie. Maybe their strategy really is to lay low in public for years while building full separate lives but still be linked even in places that they have full control over, but then I don’t think it really is a good strategy. I think the more likely thing is that we overestimated the honesty of the Rep era and the extent to which is was another performance.

Of course people acknowledge it was a performance. Everyone in this fandom acknowledges that it’s good business sense to stay in the closet and maximize your fanbase before you cut the cord. But then, I argue, Reputation was playing the game on hard mode, it was a bit of a flop (sorry!), she switched gears and started contemplating the next era very fast, and we are probably about to get another performance, another continuance of the game, with things being concealed from us just like they were in the previous era. Everyone always wants that candid, natural era from Taylor and we were so smug thinking we were the only ones getting it.

Let’s walk back a little. Taylor always, always responds to criticism. They doubted her songwriting credentials, so she wrote an album solo. They called her a sugary country princess so she lost the accent, wrote a few pop anthems for Red, just for kicks, and did highly glam performances of them with no guitar in sight. They called her conservative and unfeminist so for the next album she debuted a glam squad and her public narrative was about friendship, her against the world, her against the haters who don’t want her to write about her feelings. She wrote Blank Space as an indictment of her public image (and, as Gaylors have probably correctly read, the narrative she pulls transparently with all public boyfriends), and people freaking loved it, and part of the reason why she keeps referencing it even into the Lover era is because she has never been so loved and lauded. But make no mistake, I’ve been on Tumblr since 2010 and people wrote first posts about how they shouldn’t be called out for liking Taylor Swift long before Taylor Swift started writing about being called out for BEING Taylor Swift. She has always responded to what we want to hear. Yes, her art is for herself as well as for others but Taylor wants to be an iconic popstar. Art is just a part of being an iconic popstar.

Flash back to the Rep era. The media was bad, so they get nothing. People were mean and used things on her social media, boom, wiped. There is no explanation, just Reputation. The sound is dark and she’s an edgy princess and she admits her faults and candidly writes all about a broad-shouldered love that helps her hold on - but no juicy details and pap pics. Looks like an abject refusal to play the game. But if you look again, it just looks like a response to all the criticism. Taylor, stop calling all your friends and the paps every time you go out to get milk - fine, you get next to zero pics. Taylor, stop exploiting your dating life for fame and having pictures taken every time you fly a jet to a famous boyfriend to sit on his lap - fine, I’m dating an unknown, we only hold hands, and I have broken up with two boyfriends in the meantime but will only write one relationship narrative song for both of them. Taylor, don’t play the victim when we know you’re a powerful popstar who plays the feud game sometimes - Look At How You Made Me Do Something Bad. The old Taylor you hated is dead - the new Taylor is both edgy enough to kill her and conscious enough to write this line making fun of herself. And those are not the only lines where she’s sarcastic and high drama either.

She Did All Of That, created some iconic imagery, and pretty soon she was able to see that it wasn’t really landing the way 1989 did. She gambled everything on a carefully planned (but still abbreviated) tour, won the gamble, landed on her feet, pulled some other cool artistic and political moves, got bolder with the wlw messages... but she started conceptualizing the next era very early on, at least visually, and we keep getting visual proof of that. I think Taylor wanted to reframe who she was even back in 2018, as abbreviated as the era was it was a long time to keep playing the snake Taylor character. It was the last album she wouldn’t own full rights to. I also think that it was a long time to keep portraying a cohesive narrative that wasn’t really all that true anymore. I think Karlie and her broke up for good around the time of the release, and had some serious arguments probably around the time Taylor disappeared, but even if you don’t and think they are still together, one can argue that Rep didn’t have a lot of space for all the angst Taylor was feeling. People say there’s even too many songs about how she got cancelled - but they mostly focus on the media and the Kardashians, with some shoutouts to false friends, and all quickly erased by “I have a hot partner so F U”. There’s not a lot about the pain you feel when you get rejected like that, including by your own fans, not a lot about fears for her career, not a lot about other things we know she went through, like being stalked and her mom’s cancer. Rep conceals as much as it reveals, and she probably wanted to write about these emotions as soon as she processed them a little better - hence the “really sad songs” we will hear on Lover.

One of the reasons why Rep just didn’t land is because “pop is dead” and people look elsewhere but the big pure pop girls for popular music. Every big pop girls latest era is either years away in the past or her most recent phase is an experimental or edgy one. The new sounds flirt with rap and trap, productions are minimal. Taylor’s Rep phase is also a part of that. The big girls try to play the game, but no one wants to hear Katy or Taylor doing Lorde, people want to hear new artists. Even Ariana, an old school maximalist who only barely adapted to this new era by being close to r’n’b from the start, is wearing a cute minimal uniform, writing in low caps and putting out trap-inspired songs. But the pop press has been talking about being bored of it for a long time. I think Taylor is seeing this opportunity for the tide to turn, has seen it since 2018, wants to be ahead of the curve and will put out a colorful maxi pop album about unabashed positivity, being who you are and celebrating others being who they are (ME!, as a first single of this era, blatantly points in this direction, just like every other Taylor first single pointed at the rest of the era), fighting for what’s right, processing your unhealthy feelings.

But will she come out? I don’t know, because this is still playing the game - it’s just that the game and the cultural moment aligns with what Taylor wants to write right now. Listen, I’m an older millenial just like Taylor and I am tired of edgy characters, dark spaces and the color gray. Maybe she is too. Maybe this time we’re getting full radical honesty from her. But it is likely that it’s not, and that it’s too soon to unleash everything that Taylor is into the world. Get ready for that possibility as well. Maybe the rainbow messaging will only remain as what it is right now - activism for others, and a little wink.

Adventures on the train - Day 7

Feeling old right now, but it has little to do with it being my birthday. We went for a very long walk after the usual big breakfast. It was about 9 kilometres and we made it there and back without getting run over by the traffic. We walked up to the University and through some somewhat strange gardens. They were called the Xingqinggong Gardens, but I hesitate to pronounce that. Not sure how to describe the area. Certainly, there were manicured lawns and beautiful colourful gardens, but there was also a lot of other things that meant it was by no means a tranquil setting. Music was blaring from numerous boom boxes, encompassing a range of ethnicities, and people were dancing, anything and everything from ballet to Bollywood, waltzing, linedancing and tai chi, much of it highly improvised. Then there was a large lake with literally hundreds of pedal boats for hire, mainly in multiple shapes of ducks - and don’t forget the ghost house - we could hear the screams. There were numerous other pavilions where you had to pay to enter, but I couldn’t figure out what was inside - I don’t read Chinese and the pictures outside were not helpful. All had loud PA systems touting for business and competing by decibels to outdo the next attraction 50 metres away. There was also a smelly zoo of sorts, presumably including an aviary from the pics, but we eschewed that on the grounds that it would probably be rather depressing.

We returned to our room via a different route and were quite buggered by the time we got back. The road back was all along larger roads, including under the East Gate where we had walked on the City Wall yesterday, but on the way to the gardens, we had walked quite a way through parkland at the edge of the moat. The older Chinese (at least) seem to spend a lot of time outdoors and we saw them playing checkers and other games we didn’t recognise. There was one area full of birdsong and I thought it might let me see some more birds, but alas, it was just a caged bird market. Nearly all the birds were some variety of small myna, but there were also a few pardalotes and silvereyes too. We did see one new species in the gardens though: some Chinese grosbeaks.

We had to check out of our room by 2pm and we did so with minutes to spare. We wandered down the street for a ‘light lunch’ that still defeated us, and we are now ensconced in the lobby for a few hours until our pickup arrives at 7pm to take us to the train. We are just too footsore to do anymore walking today! Reading and resting are much more enticing right now.

And now we are on the train to Urumqi, pronounced Urumchi, Ulurumchi, Ururumchi and presumably more variations on a theme so we are sticking with the former until we have proof to the contrary. It was a fraught experience to start with. Our driver was a little early, but obviously wanted to knock if early. He dropped us in a side street and pointed back the way we had come and shooed us out of the car. He helped unload our bags from the back of the car and was off like a shot, before we even got organised - and within a minute, I realised that our hiking sticks that have been so invaluable to us already were still in the car. I sprinted after him, but couldn’t catch him. Next problem was to find the station. With some help from a couple of locals and a friendly policeman, we eventually trudged the 500 metres or so to the station dragging our bags past the place we should have been dropped 10 metres from the station gate - and found our way through the procedure fairly quickly. Maybe 60 or 70 stairs to go up and down to get to the platform, along with a thousand or two Chinese people all pushing us along so they could board first. We had two VERY helpful middle-aged men who helped carry our bags. They are very heavy and the help these guys gave us saved the day for us!!! We found our carriage and were just starting to catch our breath when 3 police arrived. We had 4 tickets and in China, the law says you can only have one each. Worse, only two had our names on them and poor Marg and Roy Henderson are presumably on a different train somewhere trying to explain to the police why their tickets are in the names of a Wheat and Doig! It was a little disconcerting for an hour, but the police enlisted the help of a young English-speaking engineer who helped enormously to explain what had happened. He rang the emergency contact our tour company had given us and between us all, the police finally returned our passports and tickets and we locked ourselves securely into our cabin and breathed a huge sigh of relief. This is likely to be a problem again if other police question our sole use of the cabin, so we are just a little nervous about how things will pan out. (At least, by the time anyone reads this, if anyone does, we will either be safely in Kazakhstan or you will have read about our incarceration in the Press.) Once the door was locked, my birthday celebration commenced in earnest, with a half bottle of Chilean red, a couple of biscuits and cheddar, a loquat and some of the fruit left over from last night’s hotel-provided feast.

Sleep at last – very uncomfortable, but safely on our way.

Wii U: the U Stands for “Untapped”

Let’s face it: the gaming world has left us behind, turned a cold shoulder, and yet we’re happy on our little island because its ecosystem is unlike any other. There are rare fruits hanging low from the trees and they’re delicious. Anyone could’ve had this taste of paradise and overpopulated the area but no, we saw the beauty and decided to stick around to smell the flowers. That said, there’s so much we haven’t seen from the Wii U and it’s eight years old. EIGHT.

I’m not sure who wrote the rules on console sales and development, marketing and trends, but I just don’t fully agree with the ploy that a new console needs to be released every 6 years. Back when the NES and Sega Genesis were current and new hardware was coming out, I remember agreeing with Sega’s strategy to create an attachment to your current console and upgrade what you’ve got. I thought it was simple, practical, and made sense. Why buy a whole new thing if I can just add on to the thing I all ready have? If I remember the hearsay correctly, I don’t think Nintendo wanted to create the Super NES. They were cool with the NES and pushing it further. Or not pushing further but still create new and creative titles with the limited capabilities of the system; that IS Nintendo’s mantra after all. Ever play Mario’s Cement Factory?

At the time of this writing (November 2020), exactly eight years from the Wii U’s launch, I find myself perusing Nintendo’s Developer Portal to price out NEW Wii U development hardware. It’s still for sale and still supported. The downside however is that it costs well into the seven thousand dollar range for all the tools necessary to make anything remotely close to a Wii U game that could go to market. Even still, what retailer would stock it on their shelves? Probably nobody.

I’ve read stories of Nintendo salesmen going to third party developers and try to sell them on the “new” system with its “cafe” chip set. What I’ve learned is what’s been said before but I’ll say it my way: The Wii U is (was) technically powerful but not really. From what I understand it had all the capabilities of the late consoles of the generation previous to it, and by that I mean PS3 and XBox 360, and just a little more. What held it back from being as powerful as the XBox One and PS4 was processing power and weak fan. If you didn’t know, Nintendo wanted a console that was unobtrusive in the home entertainment space and that included having a quiet fan. The purpose of the quiet fan was to keep your ultra-casual, non-gaming mom from getting annoyed. The reason why your game of CoD Ghosts, Darksiders, or Need For Speed: Most Wanted U crashes mid-game could very well be based on your Wii U getting a little overworked and needing a break, not glitchy software. Ever notice how pretty and smooth Nintendo’s games look and run on the Wii U? They’re slow, beautiful, and creamy like a tuxedo made out of butter from cows that ate heaven’s grass and then had a master masseuse massage the savory-sweet honey-milk out of their udders. Breath of the Wild isn’t exactly sprinting, you know? Even still, the potential of the console I still believe remains untapped.

The U in Wii U stands for “untapped.” I don’t think Nintendo knew that at the beginning. Now we know. Yeah yeah I know it stands for “you” as in “you” hold the GamePad, and “Wii’l” (we’ll) play with the Wiimotes. Why not make it stand for Wii-a-bU (ever play Tokyo Mirage?) All wii, as heavy WiiUsers need is a marathon runner of a GamePad battery and some super cool titles that really take the GamePad into new territory. I’m talking 3D, fourth wall territory. Even AR. In my last post I mentioned how the console can connect to the 3DS. I can’t even begin to comprehend what’s possible between the two pieces of hardware working together.

Let’s talk about some Wii U games that use the GamePad in unique ways. If you play Nintendo Land the way it was intended you should get an excellent fundamental understanding of its purpose and capabilities. Having a screen for maps and inventory is such a boon. Immediately I think of games like Windwaker and Axiom Verge for this. Windwaker does some cool stuff though, like using it to aim your grappling hook. When I experienced that for the first time I sat straight up and got right into the game. I personally love it in games like Batman Akrham City where you need it to scan crime scenes to find a bullet’s trajectory and help solve a murder. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE uses it as a fake smart phone to push the story forward by getting text messages from your party members and also uses it to display enemy and player stats during battle. The only downside, once again, is that I have to keep it plugged in next to me and use a separate controller while going back and forth from TV to GamePad with my eyes.

What about new, unused ideas for the GamePad? Inventory and snapping pics is cool, but what if you used it as a P.K.E. Meter in a Ghostbuster’s game? Luigi’s Mansion could be so fun! What about something where you accumulate little marbles in a Magical Drop style puzzle game and flick them up to the screen like a ninja star in Nintendo Land’s Ninja Castle? The Wonderful 101 seems to do cool stuff but I haven’t played enough of it to make a solid enough comment about it. I’ve always wanted to make a Tai Chi game for the Wii U where the GamePad would illuminate a shining ball of light on its screen and have it grow or shrink depending on the amount of “Chi” you build by doing moves correctly. Thinking about it now after what I’ve said about the battery, utilizing the GamePad would require some serious GamePad battery juice management. What about something like a sequel to Link’s Crossbow Training? I think some kind of accessory could be made where you prop the GamePad up on a crossbow-like holder and use it as an aiming device. There’s just so much we haven’t seen yet, and in theory, I believe that’s what Iwata wanted us to figure out ourselves from the very beginning.

Woman Accidentally Eats a Space Cake for the First Time (Fully Loses Her Shit)

New experiences are some of the greatest joys of my life. Seeing and doing new things. New stimulus and surroundings, trying and learning new things, engaging with new people and places.

During lockdown we are almost entirely starved of new experiences.

Having gotten to 30 without ever trying weed, I have been expressing an interest for years, but not wanting to smoke, thought Space Cakes were the best option. People had warned me these could be quite strong, but a friends boyfriend was given some “Medical Marijuana CBD Cupcakes” for his birthday, and knowing I’d been interested offered me one, with the disclaimer “it’s not going to be a new experience, you’ll probably just feel more relaxed and maybe a tiny bit warm and fuzzy.”

Me being me and always wanting to make everything The Maximum Fun, would have under normal circumstances gathered friends, lowered the lights, composed a playlist, eaten the cake in a ceremonial fashion and fully embraced the moment. But, as I was assured not to get over excited, instead my friend (L) and I ate them together as a snack absent mindedly whilst having a chat in her bed around 10pm. I then went off next door to watch some telly alone whilst texting my boyfriend (S).

What unfolded was quite the unexpected turn of events...

This was my first time ever going to a festival and apart from all the inconveniences it was amazing. This year it was August 12 and 13 (Saturday and Sunday) so Friday night I was frantically getting all my stuff together and barely got any sleep but Saturday morning I drove to Toni’s so we could ride to Ellen’s house together because I was going to beat her face (do her makeup). We planned to meet up at Mike’s house at 9:30am which didn’t really happen due to “over- caking” and forgotten wrist bands lol. We ended up leaving at 10:30am in three cars.

We stopped at a gas station in Baltimore where Mike and I went ham on each other. We ended up getting to Pimlico Race Course and since Toni and Amin payed for parking already we parked in a different area from Christian’s car. Toni and I dropped tabs in the parking lot but keep in mind… WE WERE ALL FUCKED UP except Tai and Amin. Mike, Christian, and Toni took 2. Peter, Ellen, and I took 1. We met up at the Ferris wheel. Melvin (who was candy flipping) met up with us there and we were just wandering around for the first hour because we didn’t know what to watch or where to go. We went to Lunar stage where we saw TT the Artist and that was when it really hit me because this bitch was talking about “I just wanna get my pussy ate” lmfao. I didn’t give a single fuck though, I was feeling that shit so I started bouncing around and singing along and we see an old dude with his kids listening to TT rapping about how horny she is and me and Peter lost our shit omg xD Later on, I waited for Elohim (who was actually really weird) but I love her song “Sleepy Eyes” and I had a beautiful gay moment with Toni <3 We went to Solar tent with squad and started head banging but Toni was WAY too fucked up to follow along. He kept talking out of his ass instead of dancing and at some point he looked like he was about to faint so I stepped out with him for some air and dude was talking OUT OF HIS ASS xD He kept pointing at girls with fat titties and ass and I couldn’t even be mad because it was too funny. He kept talking about how there’s no gender and that we were one and whole time I just wanted to dance maaaaan -___- Tai came thru to check on us and I told him we were straight so he went back with squad but by that time he lost them .-. So me, Tai and Toni went to fill up water and omg that line was endless. That’s where Toni really wouldn’t stfu lol. I thought I was trippin hard af but THIS DUDE WAS TRIPPIN BALLS. Dude thought we were in an episode of “One Piece” talking about “Nami, we gotta find our friends Luffy, Robin, and Usopp.” (Mike, Ellen, and Christian) I guess I was nami, Tai was Chopper, and Toni was Zoro’s lost ass. We wanted to see Morgan Page but Toni kept running off and we had to keep track of him. He relaxed at Chet Porter who was chill vibes and Toni loved it so much he started to cry tears of joy which made me feel more at ease. We finally met up with squad and Mike was TRPPIN BALLS. My dude was on another planet but less dysfunctional than Toni lol. Christian was quiet af but his eyes were in every direction lol. Ellen was geeking. Peter was chillin and our only source of hope was Amin and Tai because they were sober lol. We were going to go see Migos and everyone was super excited and that was when the announcer with the monotone voice and the resting bitch face said “Due to the weather we are evacuating the facility.” I have never seen so many drugies in distress. At first people weren’t moving but then the storm came thru hard af and everyone was freaking out. People were still rolling and tripping but running around like chickens. I literally saw some dude snort coke during the storm and a girl walking around with her titties out lolol. We ended up deciding to leave which broke my heart because I wanted to see Seven Lions more than anything in the world. Amin helped me and Toni get back to our car because I didn’t know where anything was since I was still trippin a bit. I managed to drive home while still somewhat fucked up. We picked up food at McD’s then were driving for more food but Mike wanted to go into 7-11 to “sit down and order” xD We ended up going to Wendy’s and going back to our hotel which was really nice. We were all at the end of our trip but Mike was still up and at it lol. We finally knocked out. Surprisingly I was able to wake up first. I woke everyone up but Mike wouldn’t wake up so I jumped on him and my dude was still dead xD We got ready and dipped out at 11ish. We got to Moonrise again and chilled under the tents near Celestial stage where the music was amazing. I found the SD squad and took a few pics. At 3pm I was waiting to see Breathe Carolina but Ellen, Mike and Christian stayed behind :/ So Tai, Toni and I went to see them and they were so so so great. They’re specifically my type of music. I was so fucking happy I got to see them and right after was Ookay who was also the shit except we lost Tai D: Toni and I went to see Hippie Sabotage where we found Timmy and he popped some M…… he was GONE after that lol. Carnage was SUPERRRR LIT. We finished up watching Alan Walker’s set which was incredible and then Yellow Claw killed it but we left early to see the BEST set of the night……. PORTER ROBINSON. Toni and I had one of those moments that you never want to end during his set. It was like I was at the right place and time with him and I never wanted it to end. As “gay” as it sounds, I fell in love all over again. Porter Robinson’s whole set spoke to my soul and I cried when he played “Language” at the end :’) We saw Dillstradamus at the very end which was fucking awesome but out of all the sets, Porter Robinson was the one who really wrapped it up for me. In conclusion, I had an amazing time at Moonrise with my wonderful friends and boyfriend. I found a new place I can call home.

Katy Perry And Taylor Swift Fuel Collab Rumors With A Cryptic Cookie Post

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift‘s notorious feud is pretty much old news by now — remember the (literal) olive branch Katy sent Tay last year? — but their reconciliation has just reached sweet new heights.

On Tuesday (June 11), Perry took to Instagram to share a pic of some chocolate chip cookies. This would be wholly unremarkable news on its own, except for the fact that she tagged Swift in the photo and in her caption, which read, “Feels good @taylorswift.” On top of that, the phrase “peace at last” is written in frosting on the plate of cookies. And on top of THAT, she geotagged the location on her post as “Let’s be friends.” A subtle peace offering, this is not.

Swift, for her part, left a comment with exactly 13 (her fave number, duh) pink heart emojis, which, knowing Taylor, may be an easter egg of some sort.

Needless to say, Perry’s cryptic cookie post leaves us with a lot of unanswered questions, and has already fueled collaboration rumors between the two former rivals, possibly for a song titled “Peace at Last” or “Let’s Be Friends.” That wouldn’t be totally out of the question, considering both pop stars are currently readying new albums — Perry dropped “Never Really Over” a couple weeks back, while Swift launched a lighter and brighter new era with “ME!“. A reconciliation anthem wouldn’t seem totally out of place for either of them, so let the conspiracy theories commence!

Been a Bit

Life this past week or two idr exactly how long ago was my last blog post. But it’s been okie. School been okay. I passed my vector calc class. I’ve been hanging out a lot with my friend Kristy.

This past weekend it was pretty nice. I got to hang out with Cindy for the first time in a long time, and she had a gr8 time I think! I love to show ppl new things like new places, new music, etc and she wants to hang out still weeeee. That means I did a good job :D We might go to a club together next week? We’ll see! On Saturday, I was supposed to hang out with Sabrina for lunch, but that got canceled. I did hang out with Cat, Jenn, and Kristy. We’re all in a group chat together and hang out often. I went to Uniqlo to buy a nice linen shirt to look nice on Sunday with Ellie. Kristy and I bought a drink from Red Robins. Then we all headed to Dana’s party. We played beer pong there, I carried Cat... Like we were so behind, since Jenn was a monster and did really well, then Kristy started picking it up. Cat legit made like 2 cups max, and I made everything else and somehow came back from a huge deficit and won!!! So Jenn + Kristy had to takes some extra shots. Uhm, Jenn threw up last week or so, so I made sure to limit her to 5 shots max. Cat ended up getting too lit and drinking too much, since I never stopped her haha. She felt a bit sick, so we had to take care of her. We left the party to go eat at Din Tai Fung, and I tried the Truffle + Pork Xiao Long Bao. It was aight, honestly not that much better than the pork by itself~ But yee... Anyways after that, we took Cat home, since she was uhh too drunk/needed to rest up. Dropped off Jenn, then Kristy and I headed back to Dana’s party. My cousin Khoa was there, since he’s friends with Dana too, and it was nice talking to him. I saw some old HS ppl that I guess are acquaintances, but kinda cool to see them still! My cousin’s new tattoo was pretty cool/meaningful actually, much better than the keyblade idea he was gonna get before lol. Met some dude who had a really cute gf, and apparently met her cuz of his Shiba Inu dog.. I was like damn, I need to get myself a cute af dog lol. I really want a corgi and I do like shiba inus too. But I can barely take care of myself, let alone a dog rn lol.

The next day, was uhh hanging out with Ellie. Told this story too many times, that I don’t think I need to write it to remember. But went to westfield anita mall in arcadia, she was like an hour late rip, got din tai fung with her, and I am so tired of din tai fung... I don’t wanna eat it ever again for like at least half a year lol. Two days in a row is too much and my wallet hurts now ;-; Then we went to some place in Pasadena with a bunch of shops, not old town. But yeah, took some pics for fun, drove her, showed her some new music, and overall had a decent time! We made plans to go to kcon on sunday, and uhm maybe that’ll be cool. I thought kcon was whatever last year, idk. For some reason, I wasn’t too energetic that kcon and tbh I feel bad. I think I could have been a lot more fun and made the experience a lot better for Stef last year. Oh welll, it’s okay I improved as a person dis past year. But yeah, hopefully this kcon will be fun. Can always meet up with Hope/Cat during it as well! :) After hanging out with Ellie, I ate dinner with Kristy and Jenn.

Then on Monday, didn’t do much, but I got dinner with Kristy! I was really craving spicy miso ramen, and I found a new place. The restaurant was not bad, big menu, ramen was okie, but they had good drinks for cheap during happy hour! :OOO so will be back there maybe on Wednesday or something.

Tuesday, I kinda didn’t do too much hehe. I edited photos for fun! I’m a bit idk bored of how my photos are recently. I wanna shoot with some new ppl at places with some cool backgrounds :O But we’ll see if that ends up happening haha.

As for life in general, idk I think it’s been going okie. I have good friends, not TOO stressed just a bit here and there. Idk, just trying to make progress in life and be a happy boy :)
