Watched Raya and the Last Dragon. If Disney weren’t cowards, she (Raya) would be the first openly gay Disney Princess [Spoilers within]
Raya and Namaari are pretty gay. Like childhood-friends-to-enemies-to-allies-to-... gay.
The former actually refers to the latter as ‘Princess Undercut’. She boasts of always being able to get Namaari to focus on her. There’s no way that’s not flirting. Not to mention all the other flirty dialogue that exists anyway.
The majority of the action scenes in the film are these two going against each other, as Namaari spends the first two thirds of the film chasing Raya, and it gets flipped in the 3rd act.

Why yes, they are the only two of the main characters with eyes open, and indeed they ARE staring lovingly into each others’ eyes.
Sometimes, sitting next to (and staring bashfully at) each other while sharing food can be just so intimate, you know?
Kelly Marie Tran (Raya’s VA) has even come out and said she reads Raya and Namaari’s (Gemma Chan) relationship as romantic.
