Diversifying From Facebook
โœจ ๐Ÿ™‚ My plan to spend LESS TIME focusing on Facebook... . As you guys can probably tell every day I spend hours on Facebook. This is where I post my daily social media & content marketing tips. These have helped me grow my audience and "friend" count up - My Facebook Lives are still my largest lead generators. Helping me book myself solid with consulting and coaching clients. Truth, most of the people who have hired me over the last year found me through my Facebook Lives. . BUT despite this fact, I am launching a plan to diversify from Facebook and start building up my other platforms. . HOW I will be cross posting my content, tips, live videos, etc. onto other untapped platforms such as Google+, Tumblr, LinkedIn and Patreon. . I will also be looking to guest write blogs, submitting articles for online publications and also growing my presence on Medium as well as making sure my best content is published on my personal website as well. . WHY would I do this? - 3 Reasons: . 1. Facebook is overrated: Don't get me wrong love it, ( and I love my FB people ) but the notion that you can build a large business through Facebook alone ( i believe ) is a misconception. Sure, you can grow an audience and nurture your business through Facebook but the platform itself is saturated with coaches, gurus, etc. all trying to get a large piece of the FB pie. If the only basket you put eggs in is Facebook, you may be selling yourself short as your audience will largely be composed of your peers. . 2. Bubble world: Facebook is also a sort of "bubble world" as all of us on FB understand the current state of FB but many "normies" are abandoning it in droves. Because of this FB is one of the more difficult social media platforms to get traction on as attention is stretched so far - and reach / visibility is highly competitive. I have a feeling, if I was posting the same high-value content "elsewhere" my personal growth rate would be my larger and faster. With FB you always have to combat the algorithm and the tendency of the platform to just show people "more of the same" - being trapped in the bubble of FB is not interesting to me, I want to be exposed to new people - new connections - new ideas. . 3. Fly Out of The Nest Little Bird - The success I have had/been having with FB has exceeded even my own expectations. I knew when I decided to post these long form tips/micro blogs "with quality information" my audience would grow. I also knew if i consistently offered value via FB live people would catch on. It was a strategy, and I designed it. - It has for the most part worked. - However, I also believe it will work in the same way elsewhere - maybe even better! And since new opportunities are what I am chasing it is time to stretch my wings and extend my flight distance. . Besides all this, it is just smart to diversify your audience - for SEO and overall visibility - develop content for other platforms and funnel people to one main collection point. I think for me I have focused on Facebook because it was what I knew and it worked - and after awhile you get into a comfort zone with it - and I am always looking to push myself out of my comfort zone . .... I guess what I am getting at is if you like me here - I WILL still be here ( no worries ) but if you are also ready to move into new territories then I invite you to come along - so we can take this adventure together. . Don't get stuck in the Facebook world, when there is a whole "internet land" out there to be explored. Understand that Facebook is undeniably one of the toughest platforms to master - and if you do well here, you'll likely stride easily on other platforms as well. โœจ
