Another great day at my reliable Dave Sinclair Ford Dealership. The new car brought with it a few minor factory flaws. Of course these minuscule things, only a dedicated (not at all obsessed) car owner would notice. Over the past few months, my detailed list was viewed, noted, documented, highlighted, considered, and taken seriously by my favorite salesman Joe Palumbo. He stayed on top of it and kept me ever enthused about Ford’s promise to “make things right”.
While I was not looking forward to visiting the body shop, after Joe introduced me to Chris, my mind was put at ease. Details, integrity, and my feelings were first and foremost as we made more than a few trips around the car. Chris brought Tim into the picture and right on the spot, my baby, my beast was the newest member of the Dave Sinclair Wizardry club. Before I knew it, things were being checked off my list…most notable-my trunk lid was adjusted to fit perfectly. Chris even recommended a product for me to use on my car. It’s officially on my wish list.

If you can see the difference in the gaps you are a dedicated car person.
I’m not sure when Mr. Sinclair first said the words: “If it’s not right we’ll make it right”, but it still holds true to this day.

While investigating my stoplight odds I found out a few interesting tidbits about the badging on the 2015 Mustang. Here is a brief pictorial:
A V6, 3.7L with a base price of $23,xxx has a horse on front, horse on back with background stripes, nothing on the side.

The Ecoboost model has 2.3L engine and a base price of $25,xxx. Horse on front and back, nothing on the side.

The 5.0 GT has a horse on the front with a grill different from the first two, GT on the back, and a delightful 5.0 on the side. Base is $32,xxx. It’s badging and horsepower remains the same in the premium version.

Opting for the anniversary package does not change the horse power options as the 5.0s have 435 nice little horses. However, it does alter the base which is $40,xxx. Notice the metal across the front, and GT 50 YEARS on the back.

There are definitely 2015 Mustangs that I should shy away from at the light, but the chances of seeing one anytime soon is pretty slim. Here is a very cool Rocket with 725HP!

Leave it to Ford, Ford Dealers, and advertising in general to improve on my love for the open road…with billboards. The new 2015 Ford Mustang comes with it a very special feature…the Toggle Switches. In order from left to right we have Hazard Lights, Traction Mode, Steering Mode, and Driving Mode.
Hazards are self explanatory.
Traction Mode includes ON for the quick take off and OFF for the impressive burnout.
Steering Mode includes STANDARD, SPORT, and COMFORT. As yet, I have not experimented with this feature. I’ve been too busy enjoying the last toggle…
Driving Mode is comprised of NORMAL, SPORT+, TRACK, and SNOW/WET. Of course my favorite is SPORT+ as it transforms the car completely from beauty to beast. According to the manual this feature is for more ‘spirited driving’. That’s an understatement. It is best used for stop light racing and tight turn maneuvers, in my opinion.
The Track Mode is reserved for track driving only. As I understand it, you must be registered at an official track while engaging this Mode, or the warranty will be voided. Serious business.
Hopefully I won’t need to use the final Mode this coming winter. But if I do, it’s great to know that it’s there. The amount of driving assistance it will give to my 435HP beast is yet to be seen.
Windows down, radio up, Toggles flipped! Ready, set, go……!
