this is a dumb question but why do people put exclamation marks when referring to or tagging certain things? like for example one of your fics has "dark!Bobby" tagged

Real talk, I have no idea. I think it's a tagging relic from the old live journal/wattpad era of fandom? I've been using it since like 2011.

But basically it's a way to disclaim a specific type of interpretation of a character that's different from canon. So like I use mosswall!henrik and dark!Bobby, but I've seen it used like occupation!charactername or top/bottom!character name.

You think that, being a tree person and all, Eurig just gets ridiculously horny in the springtime?

I did a new Eurig design for Mosswall!

Eurig can expand both the ice and tree part beyond their starting point, however, he can’t retract them fully, and he can’t expand them into each other.

Normally his weapon of choice is a fuck-off greatsword but I wanted to mix things up and gave him a rapier this time. I don’t think he likes it very much. In fact he seems a bit confused.

I said I wasn’t going to but I did some more of Eurig’s sisters

Eurig has eighteen sisters. I’m not drawing all of them, but here’s one so you guys can get an idea of what the family looks like. She does have tree parts, but they’re on her back.

Glorious hair is a genetic trait.

(Eurig’s not the baby of the family but he’s close.)

This is the picture that spawned Mosswall- Eurig, Ash, and Rall as elemental bffs.

I decided to make Eurig half ice elemental and half forest nymph, which will be fun to work out how that effects his abilities. I think rather than have them cancel or weaken each other, he just gets an assorted grab bag of abilities from both sides- he doesn't have the full powers of either an ice spirit, or of a nymph, but any individual ability he got from either parent is just as good as if he was a full blooded one or the other. I think possibly the only thing he has that's diminished is his transformation- only part of his body is able to transform into a tree, or into ice, rather than having the ability to be both ice OR a tree. I don't think this makes him op because- 1, elementals are naturally much stronger than their mortal parents anyway, 2, having an ability doesn't automatically make him good or powerful at it, he still has to train it just like anything else, and 3, one of the other elementals is literally made from a chunk of the soul of a whole ass god so he's pretty much par for the course, really. In general, elementals tend to be a grab bag of abilities and manifestation, so Eurig is playing to type. (Elementals are the children of nature spirits and mortals, usually, but the only requirement to be an elemental is to have one parent be a nature spirit. You could literally get an elemental from two nature spirits since the offspring would still come out mortal-shaped.)

Someone: I thought all Nymphs were girls. Is it because you’re only half-Nymph?

Eurig: Well strictly speaking Nymph is just a word for a half-Dryad so you can’t really be half-Nymph, you either are a Nymph or you aren’t. The matter of my paternal parentage doesn’t really come into play as far as my mother’s biology goes, and as Dryads are themselves a single-sex people so are their children

Someone: So are all Nymphs girls or not?

Eurig: Well I’m not, so clearly no.

I’m going to go Royals with the Branu in Mosswall and say that their line started with a dude who fell in love with a (magical and fully capable of passing the Harkness test) Jay who used her magic to achieve a human form but was still very much a (magical and fully capable of passing the Harkness test) Jay

So the Branu aren’t so much “shapeshifting birds” as they are “half bird half humans who inherited the magic to move between both forms”.

Also not every Branu marries a human

Apparently male steller’s jays court their mates by bringing them food, so imagine Axel bringing Eurig lunch while he’s working

Or even better, imagine Axel realizing he’s gone from low-stakes flirting to feeding him
