Capturing Meghalaya Safely: Navigating the Selfie Danger Zone.
Selfie Danger Zone - That’s correct!
There are many locations in Meghalaya, where you would want to take a selfie, or get that perfect Meghalaya frame! After many accidents, today, it is quite common to see signs like these as you explore Meghalaya.
Here are a few things to keep in mind especially if you are visiting in the Monsoon Season:
- Be mindful of where you ask your driver to stop: We understand the thrill of wanting to click that perfect photograph. However, the hill areas have narrow roads, and suddenly stopping the car when you come across a beautiful view can be extremely dangerous. Always find a suitable parking spot before stopping for a perfect selfie.
- Watch your step: While on hikes, the paths can get quite slippery, with the moss that grows throughout the season. This is true especially near waterfalls and rivers. Ensure stable footing and balance before getting that dreamy photo.
- Avoid Risky Locations: Avoid taking selfies near the edge of cliffs or other potentially dangerous locations.
- Protect Your Devices: Rain can damage electronic devices, including smartphones and cameras. Use waterproof covers or cases.
- Follow Local Guidelines: Always follow any guidelines or warnings provided by local authorities or guides.
