The many natural flavors of Yamagata
I’m so sorry for surprising everyone with my sudden graduation announcement. Last December I was allowed to take a break, but even before then, I could only compare myself to others and my view of myself went down, I could only think about negative things. Since my second year in Team 8, I kept thinking both “I’m not like an idol” and “I want to become more idol-like”, so I struggled a lot with my character. But during my break, I was able to finally accept some good parts of myself. Things like “You only have one life. You have to do the things you want to do.” and “There’s only one Hayasaka Tsumugi, and that’s good” really helped me to blow away the negative things and become stronger mentally.
I was able to return on January 8th for (Ota) Nao’s birthday stage. Nao said “I want you to come and watch my birthday stage”, and I thought “I want to go, but I’m on break…” I thought that, but I was able to return and stand on stage on that day. Everyone greeted me warmly, and I was so happy.
Because I like idols, becoming one was like a dream. Honestly, I felt like I had finally found something that I wanted to do, and although I’ve graduated, it’s so that I can move forward. Right now I want to find something that I can earnestly enjoy. Thank you so much for these four years.
