As this group grows, the need for more & more help around the main blog becomes necessary! Ana (our Daisy “DJ” Jones) has offered to lend a hand with things around here! Since we’re both “A” names, you’re going to see Abby/Ana/Reed instead of initials on our sign offs.
I’m very excited to have her help! Things should be running a little smoother around here now (no promises because I’m still me), and we’ll officially have an admin that’s in the GMT timezone, and can be there for our members/those interested in the group that work on that time as well!

Hi guys! Just here to give a few updates/chat a bit as we go into this new week in Wade! We’re already almost a week out from acceptances, so that’s absolutely crazy. I’ve been so happy with how things are going around here! You guys are such a great group of people.
Firstly, it’s a wonderfully dark/stormy day where I am, which is fantastic for writing! Though I know we’re probably not all listening to high winds, and thinking spooky thoughts, I would love to possibly put up a character development challenge/free writing exercise for you guys at some point today! If you’d be interested, defintely give this a like.
Secondly, I’ll be doing activity checks either tomorrow, or Wednesday. At this point, I’ll pretty much only be looking at individuals who have not posted at all since acceptances/posted very minimally, other than those who I’ve spoken with already!
Thirdly, I hope everyone has a great day! Keep an eye out for any updates on the main. New clues, updates, etc. could very well be on their way soon!

Thank you all for your patience as we worked through the applications, and for your patience in the upcoming days as we update the pages and get everything started. All of these applications were incredible, and we thoroughly enjoyed reading every single one. We’ll be reaching out to some of you who have applied for skeleton characters (which received multiple applications) with ideas we have for how to make the character you’ve created into an original one, so be sure to check the inbox of the account that you used to send your application for a message. Otherwise, anyone who doesn’t receive a message from us is more than welcome to re-apply for a different original character during our next round of acceptances. We ask that you just create a new one to avoid characters being too similar.
We ask for your continued patience tonight when it comes to OOC interactions. As much as we’d love to get straight to plotting, the two of us are pretty much fried! We both are going to head to bed now, but we’ll be on in the morning to send out links to join the OOC blog and OOC discord if you so choose! Then we’ll have the whole day tomorrow to talk about Wade!

– Hello everyone!
Okay, writing this is hard! Our members are already aware of this and we could not have asked for a better group of people and writers. It has become a little family and both Abby and I cried last night after the immense support we were given.
That being said, and it is with mixed emotions that we write this little announcement to now let everyone know that Wade Illinois is going to be going on a temporary hiatus. Due to a personal loss, admin Abby, our beautiful and smart mastermind, won’t be able to write and carry out the plot in a way that would make us and you guys proud.
So, after discussing it, we have decided to pause this group for a little bit --- but we won’t be closing it to our lovely members. The roleplay will run as normal but for now, it will not be accepting new people and we hope you can understand why we’re doing this!
While we appreciate the new people that have sent in an application and all of those that were thinking of joining, right now, the admins do not feel comfortable accepting new people into something like this when they were promised a roleplay with a plot and we won’t be able to deliver!
Hopefully, things will be back to normal as soon as possible and we can carry on with this lovely plot! But for now, both admins feel like this is the best way of handling this situation! We have turned the anonymous feature off and if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out --- we won’t bite, we promise!

Yay! The moment we’ve all been waiting for! The lovely Admin R. was kind enough to make us a quick little poll, which is showing 1:00 PM, EST / 6 PM, GMT in the lead! -- UPDATED ACCEPTANCE TIMELINE:
After a bit of discussion, Admin R. & myself have decided that we’re going to have to tweak the opening timeline a bit to accommodate the amount of applications we’ve received. When I opened this group, I barely expected to get ten apps (as you can see from the main’s schedule), and now we’re at about thirty-five! That’s amazing, I’m beyond honored that so many people are interested in being a part of Wade, and have submitted such beautiful applications to us. That being said, we want to be as thorough as possible when making our decisions, and this may take some time. We would appreciate everyone’s patience during the acceptance process.
We aren’t exactly sure how long acceptances will take, so we are going to push back plotting until tomorrow to accommodate people from all timezones. When you are accepted will receive a link for the OOC blog, so general introductions will be encouraged! We’ll all get to chat a bit, and get to know each other.
Tuesday will be a full day of plotting from the time acceptances are done forward! We’ll all buzz about the group, and continue to get to know each other/build a rapport.
Wednesday will be our opening day. We’re thinking we’ll do another poll to see what time works best for everyone for opening.
So everyone is aware, we will be closing the submit, and our ask at 6:30 PM (EST) to ensure we can give the applications all our attention! We appreciate your understanding. We will be posting the final app count in a moment.

Thank you all so much for bearing with us here on acceptance night! We’re so happy to have all of you on board, and we were so honored that such amazing writers took the time to apply here.
Just a few final notes of the night:
We will begin plotting tomorrow! It’ll be a nice full day for us to get to know each other before we open for interactions on Wednesday. We’ll have the poll up tomorrow so you guys can vote on that tomorrow. From there, our first event will begin on the 10th.
Those who received a message from the admins about reapplying have until Wednesday to send their application (please fill out the original character application this time) back through with their tweaks, and will be accepted immediately thereafter. If you do not choose to do so, we understand, but you’ll be greatly missed!
Those who did not receive a message are more than welcome to reapply when the next round of acceptances occurs!
Get those character accounts in as soon as you can! But don’t hesitate to ask for a little more time, we’re all busy people, we totally get it.
Thank you guys again, from the bottom of my heart! I can’t wait to build this spooky little world with you. But for the moment, I have to sleep! Any & all messages will be answered tomorrow by the admin team!

-- ADDRESSING ACCEPTANCES:
I had hoped this post wouldn’t be necessary, but I can see by our inbox it is.
If your name was not on the list of accepted characters, and you did not receive a question asking to tweak you application, you were not accepted for this round of applications. We chose to forgo individual messages because that is a long process that can turn out badly for all involved. As admins, we don’t know how you’re going to react to this news, and it really isn’t fair to put us in that position. Yes, you probably wouldn’t have reacted badly, but the same can’t be said about every single person who applied; we just don’t know. We were trying to take into consideration other people’s feelings, and consider our own as well. Running this group isn’t easy-- we received forty-two applications, and spent hours last night reading trough a seventy-page google doc that included all the applications... some of which were only links to google docs which contained many pages as well. We only denied seven people.
It would not have been possible for us to accept everyone. If you applied for a certain skeleton, and there were other applicants who applied for them as well, we went with another applicant. If you were one of the applicants who applied for a character which had a lot of applications, we may have offered someone else the option to turn their character into an original, and not you. This is not a personal attack on anyone, everyone’s writing was lovely, we just went in a different direction.
I’ve mentioned a few times that those who were not accepted are welcome to apply again if they’d like. No one is barred/banned from applying, and no one had an application I would define as “bad” -- we simply had a lot of applicants to choose from, and we went with the ones we felt best embodied what we were looking for in Wade. There is not an exact formula for what that means; there is nothing we can tell you that you will want to hear. We could only have so many “doubles” of skeletons, and certain original characters we could not see in Wade. Certain skeleton applications just didn’t fit out vision.
This is not to say anyone did anything remotely wrong. This is not an objective process, it’s a subjective one. Don’t take the opinions of two people behind a computer screen too seriously. Don’t let this affect you. It is nothing against you. You’re all wonderful writers.
We’ll be turning off the anon option on the askbox for the moment because we have to consider our own mental health in all of this.
If you want to talk about why you weren’t accepted, you are more than welcome to message us for feedback. Just please keep in mind we may not have a magic solution where you can edit your application, and be accepted to the group. This is why we did not send out those messages to everyone.
