Irish lawmaker and anti-war activist Richard Boyd Barret describes how Britain ’s colonial policies were exported from Ireland to Palestine , including many of the officers and commanders who fought against Irish liberation.
The air is heavy with the smell of death. It’s inescapable, in every corner, and worse with every body taken out of the ground.
Every time they dig, they find more corpses, sometimes in places they never expect. Sometimes they only find parts of a person, or a corpse decomposed beyond recognition.
According to the Gaza government media office, some bodies were found decapitated, or had their skin and organs removed. Children, elderly women and young men are said to be among the dead.
Rescue workers say they found bodies with their hands tied behind their backs, which the UN human rights office said “indicates serious violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law”.
Israel denies it buried the Palestinian bodies, claiming instead that it had “respectfully” exhumed the dead searching for Israeli captives.
There are so many tears at Nasser hospital today and so much pain. It’s hard for me to find the words to describe this scene.
The feeling of seeing someone find their relative is indescribable, the way mothers cover their dead sons in a shroud and accompany them to the cemeteries.
Every sight we capture as journalists we do so silently. We can’t speak, we cry blood as we film. Our hands are shaking so much our cameras lose focus. But we start over and try again.
Moatasim Mortaja is a Palestinian video journalist in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Over recent days, he has been documenting mass graves uncovered in Nasser hospital, where more than 300 bodies have been discovered since Israeli forces withdrew. On Monday, his video of a woman in grey holding the recently uncovered body of her son spread across social media. This is his descriptions of the scenes at Nasser hospital.
He’s not wrong. Antisemitism used to make us feel horrified when mentioning it, but nowadays hearing someone say antisemitic just makes us want to throw a boot at them and yell “Shut up!” That’s not how a term for discrimination against Jews is supposed to make us react!
Pretty sure that at this point the whole Jewish community hates Israel for stealing and killing innocent Palestinians and shouted to the world that they were doing it in the names of the Jews, basically making them bigger targets for actual antisemitic groups!
Also for anyone who calls me antisemitic in the future:Put a sock in it!

Ireland’s fight for independence from British rule has defined how it sees itself in the world - as a liberated people compelled to fight against oppression everywhere.
This sentiment formed its proud stance of ‘neutrality’, which saw it refuse to engage in World War II, and defines its strong and vocal support for the fight against Apartheid - first in South Africa, and today in Palestine.
But under pressure from NATO to join the fight against Russia, is that ‘neutrality’ under threat?
This week on The Big Picture podcast, we sit down with Irish lawmaker and anti-war activist Richard Boyd Barrett to talk about why Irish people feel compelled to support the Palestinian struggle, and how Ireland can lead the world away from warring empires.
Under Modi's leadership, India has grown considerably closer to Israel. New Delhi is the largest purchaser of Israeli weapons, amounting to more than $1bn per year. Between 2015-2019, Indian purchases of Israeli weapons increased by 175 percent. But Indian and Israeli companies have also started producing weapons in factories across India. The bouquet of weapons being co-produced by the two countries includes Tavor X95 assault rifles, the Galil sniper rifles, Negev light machine guns, as well as Hermes 900 medium altitude long endurance drones. Defence analysts say the partnership with India could assist in the mass production of Israeli weapons. Meanwhile, Modi has used his relationship with Israel to modernise India's army as well as bolster his image as a champion of indigenising production and manufacturing, known as his "Make in India" programme.

"Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine,"
"Here, we remind that the Jewish problem in essence was a European problem, while the Arab and Islamic environment was - across history - a safe haven to the Jewish people and to other peoples of other beliefs and ethnicities,"
"We reject the exploitation of the Jewish suffering in Europe to justify the oppression against our people in Palestine."
"resistance is the strategic approach and the only way to liberation and ending the occupation".
I saw this on X, and I was going to post about it -so thank you for sending this my way. This is an incredibly important read, so if folks have the time I highly encourage taking a moment to look at this article.
And my family wonders why I only use Al Jazeera to watch news on Palestine. They are the only news-organization that covered the genocide and told the truth from the start! They didn’t need white people to die because of the idf to care about the war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza unlike certain other news organizations that I will not be mentioning because we all know at least one that are guilty of this crime.
Don’t let the people of Gaza be forgotten because of these blundering fools being lazy and frankly racist.
