heya i'm getting into bsd again and realized that you're the only bsd blog i follow 😭 would it be possible for you to recommend some good blogs? i assume you'd know a few, but sorry if this comes off as pushy or weird

Hiii! Thank you for the ask, I’m genuinely sorry for taking like a million years to answer it. It’s a really awesome ask, so don’t worry, it wasn’t pushy or weird! I know it may have seem as though I didn’t like it since it took me good 2 months to get to it, but I really appreciate it and I was simply busy with real life stuff. Sup Miam, short time no see!

I come bearing a scenario for you:

Jouno knows anatomy very well from his torture practices, but what if he also had to know it for his ability so he doesn't end up putting his spleen where his kidneys are supposed to go when he turns back into a solid shape?

Like he rarely makes mistakes on it anymore, but back in the days after it just manifested he messed up a bunch and it hurt a lot, and now when he's very very high tension situation where he can't think clearly.

Also he's just feeling lazy and floating around, turns back and promptly collapses because that's not where his windpipe was supposed to go.

Idk let me know your thoughts, I'm thinking of writing a fic on this one day :)

9 avril, étape 5. Ce matin, dimanche, il faut trouver miam miam (dodo, c'est fait) pour aujourd'hui et demain (Lundi de Pâques). Passage par Dangé st Romain pour faire le plein. André m'a donné des variantes, du GR, balisées en jaune et bleu. Variantes avec des points de vue intéressants en prenant de la hauteur. Encore et toujours seul sur le chemin mais pour la prochaine étape je devrais rencontrer du Pèlerins puisque la halte Pèlerins était complète lorsque j'ai voulu réserver. Du coup je suis rabattu sur Booking et j'ai trouvé la perle rare ... Chez une voyageuse, elle prépare son prochain voyage pour le Vietnam. Pour le Pèlerinage, elle a déjà eu des Anglais,un Brésilien et une jeune fille de 22 ans qui est partie de Paris suite à un Burn out professionnel. Et moi dans tout ça ? J'ai posé la question à DD et GG (mes pieds) : comment ça va ? DD se plaint d'une petite ampoule au Rikiki. Rien de grave, une rustine et c'est reparti. Je vais maintenant préparer l'étape de demain. Note: My angel of the day is Benjamin. Since we never learned his vessel's name (shame on you, canon), I didn't use one for her, so she's just referred to as 'she'.

It was a beautiful day.

There had been a lot of those lately, she thought idly as she sat on the front steps of her parents' house. Squinting upwards, she could not see a single cloud in the sky, everything bathed in bright sunlight. The fields her parents and her uncle worked. Their cat, who was sleeping on the low stone wall surrounding the main house. The flowers her mother had one day found in the fields and, instead of simply tearing them out, had re-planted them here, in the front yard.

They were red. Her favourite colour, like her Sunday dress. She was sure her mother had thought of her when she'd first seen them.

Truly a beautiful day. A beautiful life. It was like there were only happy days, nothing ever went wrong. Even when it rained or when it was cold, that just meant they could huddle around the fire, could drink tea and listen to her uncle tell his stories.

And yet, despite all this perfection, she felt like something was missing. Someone was missing. A friend, a dear one, someone she knew she had known for a long time, if only she could remember-

There was a rumble and she looked upwards, but the sky was still perfectly blue. Another rumble, as if a storm was coming, except at the same time the sun was getting brighter, brighter, until she had to avert her gaze, pressing her eyes closed.

Be not afraid, a voice called. A terrible, thunderous, frightening voice – and yet so, so familiar that she felt as if a weight was lifted from her chest.

“Benjie?” she asked, and when she stood up, suddenly she wasn't seven years old anymore. Instead she was twenty, or perhaps a hundred and twenty.

How old was she really? Did it even matter? Benjamin was here.

Hello, my friend, he said softly, or as softly as a being his size, a being of his magnitude and power could ever achieve.

Flooded by relief, longing and curiosity in equal measures, she carefully blinked her eyes open, only to be faced with the strangest form she had ever seen. She could not make heads or tails of it, had not been able to do it the first (and last) time she had seen it. Too many eyes, too much light, too little substance. Benjamin looked nothing like any other creature she had ever seen before, nothing like a human or a cat or even a horse. He was something completely different, something special. That much, she had understood from the very beginning, when he had started speaking to her in her dreams. The safest way for an angel to interact with a human, if only not to overload their brains with all their magnificence.

“Benjie, where have you been?” she asked, hearing her voice shake. It had been a long time since he had been gone, that much she knew. How long, she had no idea. But too long, for certain.

I'm sorry, miame. Continuance – his name for her ever since they had decided to stay together. She smiled.

“Don't fret, piripsol,” she replied with her own nickname for him. Of the Heavens – that he truly was. “I just missed you.”

As have I you. In my dreams, you appeared often.

It was a sweet, and yet confounding thing for him to say. “Dreams?” she questioned. “But you don't sleep, how can you dream?” It had also been tinged with some sadness, perhaps even regret. This was just getting curiouser and curiouser.

Where I was, even angels dream. Not always of good things, I'm afraid, but- He broke off, radiating hesitation. How odd. In all the years that she had known him – over one hundred, if her memory didn't fail her – she had rarely, if ever, seen him hesitate.

“They were bad dreams?” she asked gently. “Are you alright?”

I am now. I see that you are happy, and this makes me glad.

More sadness, dripping off him like molten sunlight.

“You say that, but then why are you so melancholic?”

Ah. You know me too well, miame. His appearance hardly changed, but she got the impression of a sad smile directed at her. My mood is subdued because I could not protect you. Could protect neither of us. We promised not to part, and yet we had to.

“We died, didn't we?” Slowly, all the memories came back to her. Benjamin had been using their body at the time, and once the danger had been apparent, he'd mostly kept the images away from her. But she had still been able to see flashes. Of a face. Of a blade.

Lily Sunder enacted her revenge on me. On us.

“The woman with the nephil daughter,” she remembered.

Yes. Well, no. We thought so at the time... It turns out Ishim lied to us. It also turns out that nephilim aren't forbidden by Heaven anymore. Something like a sigh sounded across the yard, making the house rattle a bit.

“I don't understand,” she admitted.

Neither do I, my friend. Not yet, anyway. It's only been a few short years, and yet so much has happened, I'm still trying to catch up.

She huffed out a laugh. “If you're having trouble, no wonder I'm not getting anything.” Shaking her head, she sat back down on the steps. “This is Heaven, right?”

Yes. Your individual Heaven, where you get to relive your happiest memories.

“No wonder everything has been so perfect,” she mused. “Except for one thing, of course.”

Somehow, she felt Benjamin stiffen. Oh? he asked carefully.

She smiled, dropping her eyes to the ground, suddenly shy. “You haven't been here,” she said quietly. “I know angels aren't supposed to visit the souls, but how could I be truly happy without my best friend?”

The following silence was heavy in the way that emotional moments often are. If he were a human, she might have thought that Benjamin was holding back tears. But of course, he was an angel, and his true form had no tear ducts.

I'm sorry it ended that way. You deserved better.

“Hey, I lived more than a lifetime. And with an angel, to boot – I got plenty.”

Still-

“No.” She shook her head. “You deserved better. I- Where did you go, anyway? And how did you come back?”

I went to the Empty. Benjamin seemed thoughtful. It's pretty much what it sounds like. A vast, empty space, where angels and demons slumber forever. Dreaming about our greatest failures, and our biggest regrets.

“And you dreamed about me.” She tried not to let that get to her, but it was hard.

Because I failed you. That's my greatest regret.

“Oh Benjie.” Sighing, she reached out for him, and after slight hesitation, he moved closer. “You were killed. And unlike me, you went to a dreadful place. So stop it with the self-flagellation, I'm not the victim here and you're definitely not at fault.”

You're too kind-hearted, my friend.

“Excuse me, I'm ferocious! Remember that guy who tried to sell us those sugar cubes as medicine?”

Even though he didn't have a mouth in this form, Benjamin still managed to smile. I do.

She smiled back at him. “So you know I'm not just being nice. But anyway.” Her expression turned more serious. “Since I'm dead, I guess that means I don't have a body anymore, huh. This is just what my soul looks like in Heaven?”

It's how you see yourself. How Heaven lets you see yourself.

“Right. In any case, I can't be your vessel anymore if I'm without a body, right?”

That's true.

“Bummer.”

Yeah.

They were both silent for a moment. She wasn't sure if it was awkwardness or simple sadness that sat between them. Maybe both.

Does that mean I can't be your friend anymore? Benjamin asked eventually, sounding anxious.

“Oh, you ridiculous angel!” She threw her hands in the air. “Of course it doesn't mean that. Why would we stop being friends? I mean, you probably won't have much time to visit little old me and I doubt I'm allowed outside my Heaven, but... we can make it work. And by the way, even if you never showed up anymore, we'd still be friends. You're not getting out of this, buddy.”

Maybe it was her imagination, but Benjamin seemed to shine even brighter at her words. Of course I will visit you. The new God is much more lenient than the old one.

“Wait, hold on. A new God?!” She stared at him in horror.

Ah, yes. See. This is one of those confusing things I talked about earlier. So what I have been told is-

It would take a while for her to understand what Benjamin told her that day, and then some more time to accept it. But in the end, she had to admit that however strange the concept of a new God might be, His plans seemed kinder than those of the previous management. He didn't mean to end the world, which was nice, she supposed. It also meant that Benjamin had hopes that he could play his favourite arcade game again at some point. And if Benjie was happy, well, then no matter how much it upset her religious beliefs, the new way of things couldn't be so bad, right?

I never expected to be where I am today so it’s great. maybe in a few years I’d like to make so change, to go live elsewhere or something but right now I’m good with what I have.

I really don’t like bigotry, if you are sexist, transphobe, homophobe, racist (or validist or fatphobic) or in general not empathic about other people feelings, I don’t want to be friends with you.

I’m an introvert, a lot of people assume that I’m an extrovert because I can pretend really well but I’m an awkward anxious mess. You need to give me space when I need it, and you need to be very direct when something is wrong because I won’t know or I will make every possible scenarios in my head and think you hate me.

I can get angry really fast, i will not to be mean, I will never be violent but you just need to leave me alone to calm down or I will get mean to be left alone.

Le musée Rufino Tamayo regroupe la collection d’art pré-hispanique du peintre du même nom. C’est un des rares musées à présenter ces oeuvres comme de l’Art, hors de leur contexte civilisationnel, comme c’est le cas lorsqu’elles sont présentées dans les musées d’anthropologie ou d’histoire notamment. Il y a cinq pièces de couleurs différentes, qui divisent l’ensemble des oeuvres selon les différentes périodes. En plus de regorger de pièces magnifiques, leur présentation dans ces cadres vifs rend l’exposition encore plus agréable.

Chronique 45 // Draguer sur Linkedin

J’ai rencontré ce mec en vrai l’autre jour à un concert de métal. Méga canon, j’ai craqué sur lui et je crois que c’est un peu réciproque. Mais on doit être tous les deux timides pour faire le premier pas… quand je veux me jeter à l’eau, à la fin du concert, il disparait. Je le vois partir avec des regrets… je rentre chez moi et je fais une insomnie. Il faut que je le retrouve. Il trainait avec un mec que je connais, je peux retrouver sa trace. J’ajoute ce mec dans mes amis Facebook et j’épluche sa liste d’amis. Dans les Y, je trouve quelqu’un qui ressemble à ma cible, yes !

Je Googlelise et je tombe sur sa page Linkedin. Plutôt que de l’ajouter sur Facebook, je l’ajoute sur Linkedin. Je ne sais pas pourquoi, c’est naturel. Je me dis que ça passera mieux

Il m’accepte au petit matin.

Cool ! J’ai le coeur qui bat vite, je sais que je vais lui envoyer un message. Ma pote Anne-Laure me donne son feu vert : « moi je suis ultra partisane de ça, vas y fais le premier pas »

Je me lance et j’y vais pas de main morte : « je suis désolée pour cette approche un peu directe mais tu m’as tapé dans l’oeil hier au concert, on discute? » je trouve mon message parfait c’est ça passe ou ça casse.

Quelques heures plus tard, j’ai une réponse. Il a l’air chaud. « ah, j’avais bien vu les jeux de regard hier », il me dit… miam ça veut dire que je lui plais non?

On continue à discuter, tranquillement. Il fait pas de fautes et il est très intéressant. Il s’intéresse même à moi c’est pour dire… une perle rare ce mec !

Vous savez ce que je me dis, si vous commencez à bien me connaitre… « je l’ai rencontré en vrai, il a l’air bien sous rapport, ça a l’air de marcher, il n’y a pas d’ombre au tableau… ce serait pas l’homme de ma vie ? ahahh »

J’aurai pas du me reposer sur mes lauriers trop vite, vous le savez qu’il y a bien un hic !

Il finit par me dire « je viens de capter que je te connaissais avant le concert… »

Je me dis qu’il a du me voir sur un reportage tout ça. Non non, en fait je serai « sortie avec un de ses potes »

Merde, qui ça ???

Et là il me balance le nom du pire. De la seule mauvaise expérience que j’ai eu à savoir ce mec qui m’a filé de l’herpès génital et qui a failli me violer. Oui rien que ça

Vous auriez fait quoi à ma place ? Vous auriez lâché l’affaire de peur de revoir le type ou de considérer que son pote est du coup peu fréquentable ?

Et bah non, très motivée toujours, j’ai joué la carte de la fille qui s’en foutait. « tu sais c’était il y a mille an… on s’en fiche non? »

Non non, le mec s’en fiche pas. « C’est un ami d’enfance, et je le vois encore régulièrement. J’ai peur de débuter un truc sans que ça soit chaud a un moment donné avec mon pote ».

Pardon ?? Ce fut la dernière phrase du mec, il n’y avait plus rien à en tirer.

Sororité masculine ? Ou simple excuse ? Ou encore un mec trop bizarre ? L’histoire ne le dit pas…

Last days in Melbourne

15 Août 2018

Et voilà, une nouvelle page se tourne : c’est la fin de mon stage à Total Beauty Network. Quelle aventure, c’était génial ! J’ai eu beaucoup de chance de pouvoir évoluer dans un environnement aussi créatif et avec une équipe adorable. Pour fêter mon départ, nous sommes allés déjeuner tous ensembles (enfin seulement avec une partie de mes collègues). Petit discours, mots gentils et rires garantis ! Encore merci à eux pour tout !

Vendredi 17 Août 2018

Qui dit dernier week-end à Melbourne, dit : « VITEEEE, IL FAUT FAIRE TOUT CE QUE JE N’AI PAS ENCORE FAIT ! ».

Le vendredi matin, je pars pour un évènement fashion très rare et très célèbre ici : seulement 1 fois par an, une enseigne de prêt-à-porter fait d’énormes soldes. De 149$ le haut, il passe à 10$ ! Je ne pouvais pas louper ça ! Quelle effervescence dans ce hangar : les fashionnistas de Melbourne se bousculent pour chiner les meilleures pièces, trop drôle !

Aux alentours, je me promène dans le quartier de Richmond. Résidentiel, calme, il est aussi plein de petits cafés et restaurants branchés !

Après ça, je pars direction le Botanical Garden pour une belle balade jusqu’au Shrine Of Remembrance (Sanctuaire du Souvenir). Il a été construit pour honorer les femmes et les hommes d’Australie qui ont servi durant la guerre. C'est un des monuments commémoratifs de guerre les plus importants en Australie. Il est très impressionnant par sa taille et la grande place qui l’entoure.

Toute cette marche, ça creuse et ce soir ce sera encore une découverte australienne : burgers et frites de chez Lord of Fries. Cette chaine australienne est 100% Vegan et pourtant, tous les australiens y vont ! Miam !

Ce matin je pars pour une dégustation de cafés ! Et oui, les Australiens sont réputés pour faire de très bons cafés (j’y suis devenue accro ici). Et c’est au Proud Mary’s que j’apprends et déguste du café d’Honduras. C’est très intéressant : il y a une manière spéciale de goûter du café pour en faire ressortir tous les arômes (c’est aussi compliqué que le vin). On nous explique la culture des grains, la torréfaction, les mélanges possibles, l’eau à mettre pour avoir le meilleur goût (ici, ils ont une pompe qui gère le taux de souffre et pleins d’autres paramètres afin de rendre l’eau pure et parfaite pour un café digne de ce nom!). Je ne savais pas que c’était aussi poussé ! Quelle bonne découverte !

Dimanche 19 Août 2018

Dernier Dimanche sur Melbourne alors on en profite pour aller bruncher dans un des milliers de brunch spots de la ville ! Au menu : gaufres, Açai bowls et toast d’avocat. Miam !

Après s’être bien remplies le ventre, nous partons en balade/shopping/lèche-vitrine dans le centre ville. C’est très agréable de se promener dans Melbourne et de profiter du soleil (entre deux averses comme toujours ahah).

Le soir repos à la coloc avec tout le monde. On en profite pour faire quelques photos souvenirs. Ce fut un plaisir de vivre avec ses personnes pendant 2 mois. J’ai adoré être en plein centre-ville de Melbourne et pouvoir me réveiller et m’endormir avec une vue fantastique sur la ville.
