Monster High: The 13th Year blog masterpost

Hi! This is just a small side blog I've decided to create just for this AU I have themed around Monster High! So, here are just some answers to some questions you might have about it.

What is "The 13th Year"?

The 13th Year is just my interpretation of Monster High's original/Generation 1 series. Because 13 is a recurring number in the franchise, I have decided that throwing in another year would be the number of years a student would attend Monster High (instead of the typical four years in American high schools).

What is the inspiration/core of the AU?

Monster High first came out when I was only a pre-teen, so a part of my childhood revolved around the 2010-16 run of the franchise. I collected the dolls and watched quite a few MH fans also create their own stories with their dolls. This AU is basically that, and some of the story I created when I played with my dolls (and my time of watching MH doll videos back in the day).

Are there stuff from Gen 2 and/or Gen 3 in this AU?

Yes. This AU is primarily a fanmade version of Gen 1, but some elements from Gen 2 (mainly characters that were introduced at that time like Moanica D'Kay) will be included. As for Gen 3, I'm not entirely sure but I'm still very excited to see what the movie and 2022 animated series has to offer.

Will this be an active blog?

Not really. Mainly character information (both canon characters and mayhaps OCs) will be posted, but only once in a while. Some other general information like locations, celebs, foods, and terminology may be posted here too.

Will some of the Gen 1 stuff like the webisodes or movies be canon to this AU?

Yes, it will be. So, movies like Ghouls Rule, Haunted, and Scaris: City of Frights will be in this AU, and in terms of webisodes, it's primarily Volume 2 but with a few twists (other webisodes are also featured too!).
