also because im apparently on a roll today: there are no known cases of merfolk having identical twins
#all the care guide says is 'biomass'#just because of how their reproduction works... alas#honestly twins alone are pretty damn RARE#merfolk are pretty heavily selected for only one kid per pregnancy any more is Too Many#and two of the exact same genetics??? impossible#or rather not IMPOSSIBLE impossible. but theres no known cases for a reason.
