ive never understood the obsession with the titanic. how many disasters with more deaths than that have happened in the world and how little interest there is for them. is it even really worthy of all the media and curiosity that its had around it?

#he says as he just finished reading the 'sinking of the titanic' wikipedia page. i was just trying to understand the fascination ppl have #for it honestly. i still dont get it.#i even learned about it in school (in the US of course). it just doesnt make any fucking sense to me?#like MAYBE if they had mentioned that the sinking of the titanic caused maritime laws to change etc i would understand #but we didnt get taught abt the effects of it just the even in itself. which makes no sense to me #i keep thinking about the fascination that those rich fucks had w it and abt how much manpower is being deployed to try to save/locate them #meanwhile the mediterranean is a mass grave of subsaharan africans and nobody bats an eye #OF COURSE i know it all about racism and anglocentrism #but it seems ppl dont have a single shred of humanity common sense or compassion left in their bodies #maybe they never had it to begin with either #xarraire
