McLaren London Celebrates 1000th Car With Unique 600LT
The latest McLaren 600LT Coupé built at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking also has the accolade of celebrating the 1,000th car to be sold by McLaren London, the first-ever McLaren Automotive retailer. The landmark car, which features a portfolio of enhancements from McLaren Special Operations (MSO), was commissioned by the retailer and will shortly be available in the London showroom that first opened for business in June 2011.
MSO additions to this 600LT Coupé include an MSO Bespoke Roof Scoop finished in Gloss Visual Carbon Fiber; MSO Defined Carbon Fiber Roof and Cantrails and an MSO Clubsport Pro Pack, which comprises Super-Lightweight Carbon Fiber Racing Seats, Carbon Fiber Interior Upgrade, MSO Defined Front Fender Louvres, Titanium Wheel Bolts, an MSO Defined Harness Bar and MSO Defined 6-Point Harnesses. Two Carbon Fiber Exterior Upgrade Packs are also fitted, and unsprung weight is reduced with 10-Spoke Ultra-Lightweight Wheels finished in Gloss Black, contrasted with McLaren Orange brake calipers.
The headrests are embroidered with ‘600LT’ and the throttle pedal carries the same branding, engraved into the aluminium. The seat pads have been stitched in McLaren Orange and the same color features on 12-o’clock mark of the Carbon Black Alcantara Steering Wheel. Air conditioning – a no-cost option on this track-focused car – has been specified, as have parking sensors and a rear parking camera, vehicle lift and a Bowers & Wilkins 12-speaker audio system. Also installed is the McLaren Track Telemetry (MTT) system with lap time function and three cameras.
With 600LT Coupé now approaching conclusion, attention is now exclusively devoted to the limited-run 600LT Spider, the order book for which is filling fast. Both versions of the 600LT have been designed with a focus on track driving and benefit from reduced weight and optimized aerodynamics for absolute driver engagement. The cars also have the added attraction of top-exit exhausts situated close behind occupants’ heads, amplifying the urgent soundtrack of the latest LT models. Like the Coupé, the Spider’s light weight makes the most of the 600PS generated by its 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, with acceleration from 0-100km/h (62mph) achieved in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 324km/h (201mph) with the retractable hard-top in place.

McLaren SPEEDSTER 🇬🇧😍 ______________________________________ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ [8/16/19] Well after my official @allcarnews McLaren Speedster render went a bit viral, we finally have teaser images from McLaren of what this beast is going to look like! So what is the McLaren Speedster? Well it is the upcoming new addition to the ultimate series and is planned to be launched after the Senna and Speedtail are all delivered with a design debut next year! Like the Ferrari SP1 and SP2, this new Ultimate series will be an open top but should retain its mid engined design and apparently will be not a track car but focused on a pure driving experience! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏁 @Allcarnews Spec Sheet: So what will power it? Well the rumors are saying it won’t be hybridized like the Speedtail or all future McLaren’s but instead will get the 4.0L TT V8 from the Senna making anywhere between 720HP-760HP with a super light weight of under 2,700lbs! 🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So how did I make this render? Well it started out with a 720s spider that received a face transplant from the Speedtail that took some effort to fit on! Then it got a heavily modified side intake from the new McLaren GT, a open top from the SP2, and custom mods include that steering wheel area, a more aggressive ressive rear haunch area, removed lower air intake and other little touches! As we can see the actual Speedster looks sort of similar but with a smaller side intake, a lower front nose with unique LED lights! Just 399 are to be made and should cost over $million each. ________________________________________ ACN EXTRA: This already has crushed the Ferrari Monza! ________________________________________ -Text by @allcarnews -Images by Allcarnews ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #SENNA #SPEEDTAIL An #allcarnews post #V8 #McLaren #UK #Speedster #MonzaSp2 #MonzaSP1 #McLarenSenna #720s #600LT #race ||#powerful #performance #turbocharged #advanced #SupercarsRevamped #Supercar #HyperCar #ItsWhiteNoise #M3CS #MadWhips #manual #Carstagram #BlackList #AmazingCars247 https://www.instagram.com/p/B1Ox6qLBpuP/?igshid=vbd8niry7me1

2018 Lamborghini Performante Review:
This car is next level incredible.
Now that we have that covered, let me expand with a look at the past (Warning: very long post).
I have been fortunate enough to have driven and owned a fair number of awesome sports and supercars, and I think I have been on the car equivalent of what guitarists might call a "tone quest". I'm on a "Car Quest". Trying a bit of everything and figuring out what will work for me. In my experience, there is unfortunately no substitute for actually living with a car to know how you feel about it, a Test Drive only does so much. As much praise as a car might get in reviews, rarely are the people reviewing it from the context of ownership. So the cars I have owned in the past have greatly informed what I was looking for this time around.
I loved my 991.1 Turbo S, perhaps one of the best all around cars that blurs the line between sports car and everyday supercar. One of the easiest and most refined cars to live with, though at the cost of not being the most exciting on your average drive. I had come from an E90 M3, and though almost everything was a massive upgrade from the M3, I was particularly disappointed by the Turbo S's engine note.
The Ferrari 488 I had after the 911 was all excitement, perhaps to a fault. It taught me that a constantly "engaging" car may not always be the most fun to drive all the time. It could be a handful in the wrong conditions, and I also learned quite a bit about Ferrari as a brand, which wasn't to my personal taste. The R8 I traded the 488 in for, gave me a kind of this balance between those two worlds. It was immensely easier to live with and drive everywhere for a multitude of reasons. It boasted the everyday convenience of the 911 with a lot more excitement. The genuinely nice Audi cabin, seats and sound system paired with a NA V10 engine and a fantastic AWD system made that car one of my personal favorite cars I have ever owned and lived with. It felt like it could tackle almost anything with confidence.
Because I have a car problem, I wanted to see what the "next level" of supercar had to offer. I had driven the McLaren 720S largely expecting to find myself calculating ways to afford it after the test drive, but I found that car to be a bit overwhelming and perhaps even scary. The car is light, has an insane amount of power to the rear wheels, and is mindblowingly fast, even at speed! But it was a bit intimidating on the test drive, and I was worried that living with it might be a bit of a handful. I think if I were a better driver I might be less intimidated by that, but I think with this much power, in the real world there is a huge benefit to AWD. When you are driving around traffic, and navigating around other drivers and cars, having a car that feels solidly planted when you are managing this much power and torque is a huge benefit.
I genuinely love McLaren as a brand, and I really respect their business model and what they are doing to the market (even at the cost of their own used market), but I do feel like the cars are still a bit quirky and a touch unreliable still, but I think they are really close to making a really perfect car for me. That 600LT was damn close!
So this brings us to now, or let's call it last summer:
I went to test drive the Performante after my friend recommended that I check one out. I wasn't expecting too much, after all this has a tweaked R8 engine, with a marginal 20 or so extra horses and 30 lb/ft of torque. The car shares the same platform and they have similar AWD systems. I figured that as the glorified "Lamborghini R8" with a wing, it might be a bit more Loud and Italian, but effectively the same car.
The test drive, however, proved that wrong. The Performante absolutely blew me away and I couldn't stop thinking about the car. So I started studying the market and shopping, and waiting for the perfect time to strike. Eventually I found the spec I wanted on a pre-owned one at a price I was happy with, and I went for it. On a quick side note, I have to thank Lamborghini Dallas and Tactical Fleet for helping me work out this deal!
Anyways here are my very initial thoughts on my new to me Performante:
What an engine! Although as smooth and quick in response as the R8 and familiar in character, now sounds like it's being powered by a dying star, right behind your head. If the engine being too loud to live with is an 11, this is perfectly sat at 10. And for being slightly more powerful, the car somehow feels noticeably faster in a straight line. I can't imagine an aftermarket exhaust doing much for the sound honestly, it already sounds like one. I thought the R8 sounded amazing, but this is just a completely different level.
What it also feels, is notably lighter, and the 200 or so lbs shaved off of the R8's weight account for a bit of that, but the brakes must be the other half of that equation. This car feels a lot lighter and nimbler than its 3424 lbs curb weight might suggest. Keep in mind that's still 250 lbs heavier than the 720S, but this car can stop arguably more confidently on the road thanks to the fantastic brake feel. But that's not the best part.
The best part is the cornering. Now I haven't pushed this car near the limit so far, but I did take the R8 to the track and on some fast and fun spirited drives, and the way the Performante by comparison turns in and grips just on the road is just nothing like I have experienced to far. It remains so planted and confident in those moments that you just keep on wanting to push it. The steering is near telepathic, I don't know how much more direct steering can feel on a car before you just end up with an oversized go kart. To be fair, the 720S and the 600LT steering and feel were damn good as well in this category, with the 600LT actually being maybe a true 10/10 to the Performante's 9.9/10. And yes, the 600LT basically feels like an oversized go kart. In a good way.
This car is also somehow comfortable. Now I have read very polarizing things about the comfort seats' comfort, but at 5'10 or so and not skinny I'm actually very happy in the cabin. The ride is firm as one might expect, but given that I had the R8 V10 plus which forces fixed suspension, the Performante in Strada mode is actually a bit better at absorbing the bumps. Put it in to Sport or Corsa, though, and you will be able to tell if that nickel you just drove over was heads or tails.
This car, by the way, is so easy to drive. This is not intimidating. I feel like in Strada, anyone who isn't a car enthusiast could confidently drive this car. They somehow maintained that friendliness and ease of driving that the R8 gives you packaged in this fighter jet themed cabin.
One thing I would personally steer clear of, unless you plan on mostly tracking the car or driving it hard, are the Carbon Fiber seats. They look amazing (though they don't match the Forged Carbon in the rest of the cabin) but they are perhaps the single most uncomfortable sports seats I have sat in. Maybe they were built for small framed Italian men, but if you have anything close to broad shoulders, those will be absolutely crushed in to proper driving position as you drive. If you like driving in any position other than absolutely upright you will not be happy. By contrast, I think both Porsche and McLaren make substantially more comfortable sports seats that seem to offer just as much support and bolstering. Had something like those been available for the car, I might even have opted for those. The comfort seats are actually surprisingly supportive for what they are, and should be good for longer drives, so that's the way I went on mine.
By the way that forged carbon has to be one of my personal favorite accents on the car. The gloss front splitter and rear wing look like shiny black marble and contrast the car beautifully in basically every color. The inside satin forged carbon accents not only work beautifully Alcantara covered interior, but also stop any of those surfaces from blinding you when the light hits them. Good thinking. This is what happens when Germany and Italy work together.
With all of that said, no car is perfect, so let's cover some of the faults and downsides:
The cupholder situation is hilarious. If you opt for the 600 dollar travel/smoker package you get an ashtray and a single Porsche 911 style cupholder that comes out of the dash above the glove box. The front trunk is probably the smallest I have ever seen. You might think they are all small, but seriously check out how big they are on the 488 and 720S, they are almost...practical? Actually there isn't really much interior storage space other than some nets behind the seats and the glovebox.
The rear visibility is hilariously bad, though in a funny way, it's slightly better than the R8 with there being small vents on either the side of the rear glass that you can sort of peer through, but still, it's not great. Also the car sits low, and although these pretty much are always spec'd with lifts, you have to remember not only to use it, but to lower the car before you park it because it's bad for the lift to sit up for extended periods of time.
Also, this is a bit of a weird one, but I have noticed on the Gen2 R8 and the Huracan, the dead pedal area is quite small and not that far from the brake, you kinda have to get used to how that feels, because it's different from most cars.
The sound system is also not great, maybe I was spoiled by the genuinely awesome Bang and Olufsen system in the R8, but I have the upgraded Sensonum sound in mine, and it's just not that good, probably not worth spending the money on to be entirely honest, as in true Lambo fashion, it's an expensive upgrade.
Now these little issues genuinely don't ruin the experience, some of these are just things you deal with this type of car, just like the attention you know a supercar will garner. So it's down to a cost/benefit analysis with this car, but in my case it's an easy win for the benefits on this one.
I don't think I have ever instantly connected with or been as content with a car I have brought home, and for the first time ever, I find myself not really wondering about what else is out there for me. It kinda feels like I have finally found my own personal dream car.
This is not to say I won't trade into something else down the line, though it would be nice to have this for at least a few years. But i'll put it this way: Whatever car I will move to after this one doesn't exist yet.
tl;dr: 10/10 would recommend

McLaren Eyes Lewis Hamilton Wannabes With $250,000 Road-to-Track Racer
Formula 1 race team and supercar maker McLaren is aiming to win over wealthy drivers keen to prove themselves on the track with its latest model — the 185,500-pound ($250,000) circuit-ready 600LT.
Street-legal but capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds, the 600LT is a match for the company’s 675LT road and race model, which cost 75,000 pounds more and was built in limited numbers through 2016. That makes the new car an entry-level auto by the U.K. group’s rarefied standards.
Would-be Lewis Hamiltons may want to shell out rather more to get the full track experience, with one upgrade adding light-weight carbon-fiber seats and interiors for about 24,000 pounds. Another 4,000 pounds buys a six-point safety harness, a wise purchase before putting a car that can reach speeds of 204mph through its paces.
“The price point is very different to any LT that we’ve done before,” McLaren Chief Financial Officer Paul Buddin said in an interview. “We hope to welcome new customers to the brand, more younger people as well.”
Track Performance
The 570S, the baseline model in the McLaren Sport Series lineup that the 600LT joins, was designed equally for road and track use, whereas the new car leans “75-25” toward the race circuit, Buddin said. “The LT just takes everything a little bit harder, a little bit faster and more away from road use and into track performance,” he said.
Beyond it’s sheer pace, the 600LT comes with aesthetic and engineering appeal in the form of a unique top-exit exhaust system featuring twin pipes that protrude from below the back window. Unveiled Thursday at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England, the car also has what McLaren calls an “elongated silhouette” (though it’s just 74 millimeters or 2.9 inches longer than the 570S) that’s led it to be badged as an LT or “Longtail.”
The name harks back to the F1 GTR, the racing variant of the auto with which McLaren made the leap from Formula 1 to street models in the early 1990s and which ranked as the world’s fastest road car at the time.
Woking, England-based McLaren, whose race team ranks second only to Ferrari NV in Formula 1 driver-championship wins, aims to build 4,300 cars this year, up from 3,340 in 2017 as it seeks to grow beyond its former niche status. The total should swell to 6,000 by 2025, helped by the introduction of 18 new models and variants, according to a statement Thursday.
All McLaren cars will be hybrids by that year, possibly barring the top-end Ultimate range, and the company will invest 1.2 billion pounds in the new models and a plant in Sheffield, northern England. A fully electric prototype is under development but there are no launch plans right now, Buddin said.

Vancouver driver has McLaren impounded 10 minutes after buying it In what is surely one of the shortest terms of vehicle ownership in Canadian history, a driver in British Columbia had their brand-new McLaren 600LT impounded just minutes after driving it off the lot June 17.According to police reports, the 39-year-old gearhead picked up his supercar in West Vancouver and quickly caned it up to 161 km/h in a 90-km/h zone. The ever-vigilant constabulary nabbed him on Highway 1 and impounded the car. While the officer was conducting the investigation, the driver allegedly stated that they had just left the dealership after purchasing the vehicle, 10 minutes prior, West Vancouver police said in a news release.Price tags on the 600LT can easily crest a quarter-million in this country. It was towed away from the scene and impounded for seven days. In a statement, cops said the driver was ticketed $368 or about 0.1 per cent of the cars value for excessive speeding.Heres a thought: should the cost of tickets be proportional to the value of ones car? After all, a $368 receipt from the gendarmes is about 5.25 per cent the worth of your authors own Dodge Charger. If the miscreant in that McLaren had to pay the same percentage, it would work out to somewhere north of $13,000. Would that be any more of a deterrent to deep-pocketed scofflaws?Thats a deep well of debate best left for another day. For now, know that theres one less McLaren 600LT on Vancouver roads at least for the next week. Stay safe out there,

Every Mid-Engined Sports Car You Can Buy in 2019
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Acura NSXAs appealing as it might be to start in the middle of this group and work our way out, that makes no sense, so the first entry on our alphabetically ordered list is the Acura NSX. It's the only mid-engined vehicle made in America (Ohio, actually), although not by an American automaker. A technological powerhouse, the NSX combines a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 with a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission and an electric motor driving the rear wheels, with a pair of electric motors driving the fronts. Their combined might is a satisfying 573 horsepower, and the car can even drive for brief periods on electricity alone.Acura

Alfa Romeo 4C SpiderThe Alfa Romeo 4C Spider-the fixed-roof coupe model was recently dropped from the lineup-is one of the sprightliest mid-engined sports cars out there. Note that we said "sprightliest," not "sportiest." It’s a sensations car as much as a numbers car. A tiny 1.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivers its 237 horsepower in peaky swells and emits a farty exhaust blat and plenty of turbo whooshing sounds while doing it. The steering is manual (no power assistance!) and the 4C is very lightweight, thanks to its exotic (particularly for the price) carbon-fiber-tub chassis. The Alfa's limits are high, but the feedback through the controls is where joy is derived when behind the wheel of one of these flyweights.Alfa Romeo

Audi R8Audi's R8 is closely related to the Lamborghini Huracán but costs much less. That makes it a value, so long as you're okay with the R8's less flagrant styling and more mainstream badge. Beneath the Audi's long rear deck sits the same 5.2-liter V-10 engine used by the Huracán and the same basic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The two cars' body structures are vaguely similar. Even so, the Audi is set up better for everyday use, and its V-10 engine offers less horsepower than the Huracán's (two outputs are offered in the R8; buyers can either have 562 horsepower or 602 horsepower). Coupe and convertible body styles are available.Audi

BMW i8 We can see how it'd be easy to write off the BMW i8. For all its wild looks, the sports car has a pint-sized 1.5-liter three-cylinder and is-gulp-a plug-in hybrid. Off paper, things get more interesting: There is an electric motor dedicated to spinning the front axle and another assisting the surprisingly powerful turbocharged three-cylinder turn the rear axle. Total system output stands at a substantial-for the i8's weight-369 horsepower, making BMW's first mid-engined sports car since the legendary M1 quick indeed. And as of 2019, there is a Roadster model in addition to the coupe, which debuted for 2014.BMW

Bugatti ChironBugatti's Chiron is far and away the most expensive, exotic, and powerful machine on this roster. It follows the groundbreaking Veyron, the top-speed-famous hypercar whose quad-turbocharged W-16 engine the Chiron borrows (with modifications, of course). That massive engine sends 1500 horsepower to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. There's a Sport version offered as well, with the same engine output but a more handling-focused setup. The Chiron will cost you a shade under $3 million, while the Chiron Sport goes for $3.26 million-either sum is enough to purchase one of every other vehicle listed here, which you might have to do, given the quickly disappearing build slots for the last 100 or so Chirons slated for production.Bugatti

Ferrari F8 TributoWhen you think of Ferrari, you're as likely to imagine a mid-engined supercar as one with its engine in its nose-even though Maranello currently sells only one vehicle with a mid-mounted engine, the F8 Tributo. The Portofino, GTC4Lusso, and 812 Superfast all hold their engines up front. Ferrari's mid-engine rides are easy to conjure because they're usually the highest performers; think back to the iconic F40, the Enzo, and more recently, the LaFerrari. The F8 Tributo certainly strives for such performance, adopting the 710-hp twin-turbo V-8 from its 488GTB predecessor's track-focused Pista variant, along with decidedly prettier bodywork, even if that last bit doesn't do anything specific to enhance performance. Look for a topless F8 Tributo Spider to join the lineup in the near future.Ferrari

Ford GTPending the arrival of a new challenger-say, one from Chevrolet, cough cough!-the Ford GT is the only mid-engined supercar currently offered by a major American automaker. Weirdly, it isn't built here; instead, it is assembled in Canada. In any event, the lone American-badged mid-engined supercar upholds its special station splendidly while doubling as a showcase for the Blue Oval's downsized, turbocharged EcoBoost engine technologies: The GT's radically shaped carbon-fiber body houses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 making 647 horsepower, nearly 100 more than the previous-generation GT's supercharged V-8. Even though there remain 350 cars of the 1350-car production run yet to build, Ford closed the order books for the GT this past November. So unless your application was accepted, you'll have a tough time getting your hands on one.Ford

Lamborghini Aventador S / SVJLamborghini's arch rival, Ferrari, may have turned to a majority front-engined lineup, but the raging-bull brand sure hasn't. Since the drop-dead gorgeous Miura appeared in the late 1960s, Lamborghini's sports cars have mostly been mid-engined, including the brand's current flagship, the Aventador. Offered in S or amped-up SVJ spec, the Aventador situates a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V-12 in the center of its carbon-fiber monocoque. The base Aventador S squeezes 729 horsepower from that V-12; the SVJ ups that figure to 759. Both route their engine's might to all four wheels, and both can be purchased in coupe or convertible form. Lamborghini

Lamborghini Huracán EvoOnly in the company of the Aventador could the Lamborghini Huracán be considered "lesser than" in any normal sense of the phrase. In practically any other context, the entry-level Lambo is a beast in its own right, a proper supercar with a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V-10 fitted right in its midsection, behind the passenger compartment. For 2020, the Huracán adopts the Evo name, a transition that brings styling updates and now 631 horsepower from that naturally aspirated V-10, the same power rating as the pre-Evo Huracán's spicier, Nürburgring-eating Performante model.Lamborghini

Lotus Evora 400With the Elise and Exige having long aged beyond compliance with U.S. safety regulations (and subsequently pulled from the market here), Lotus is down to a single model in America: the Evora, one of only two mid-engined vehicles here sporting more than two seats. Behind the Evora's 2+2 cabin sits a 3.5-liter supercharged V-6 engine that dispatches 400 horsepower to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. At $91,785 to start, the 400 is one of the few mid-engined sports cars available for five figures (however, later this year, its price will go up).Lotus

McLaren 570S / 570GTMcLaren's entry-level Sports Series models, including the 570S coupe, 570S Spider, and 570GT, are cooked up with the same essential ingredients as everything else the company makes. That means a twin-turbo V-8 (in this case displacing 3.8 liters and producing 562 horsepower) nestled in the middle of a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, driving the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The only difference among the trio of 570-badged McLarens is their roofs: The 570S is a fixed-roof coupe, the Spider has a retractable top, and the 570GT has a fixed roof but with a large glass hatch covering a vestigial cargo area behind the seats.McLaren

McLaren 600LTSimilar to how the discontinued 675LT was more powerful and harder of core than the also-defunct 650S on which it was based, McLaren's 600LT is its next-level take on the 570 models. The 600LT is the third model to get the "Longtail" treatment, after the McLaren F1 GTR and 675LT, and it kicks up the output from the 570S's twin-turbo V-8 to 592 horsepower. Everything from the suspension to the aero kit has been upgraded to deliver an altogether more focused, track-ready driving experience. McLaren 720SStanding above McLaren's Sports Series models are its Super Series cars, which currently are made up entirely of the 720S and 720S Spider. These cars also use a carbon-fiber monocoque but trade the Sports Series models' 3.8-liter V-8 for a 4.0-liter unit good for 710 horsepower. This British answer to Italy's F8 Tributo and Huracán Evo starts at $287,245 and is otherworldly on a racetrack.McLaren

Porsche 718 Boxster / CaymanPorsche's entry-level sports cars, the 718 Boxster convertible and the 718 Cayman coupe, are its only mid-engined models. The 918 Spyder shared their powertrain layout in the basic sense, but that hypercar has long been off the market, and the iconic 911 still situates its engine way out in its tail. Every 718 is powered by a turbocharged flat-four engine, albeit with a few differences. Namely, the base cars have 2.0-liter engines that produce 300 horsepower, while the S and GTS versions use a 2.5-liter with a different turbo to kick out 350 and 365 horsepower. Beyond trim, buyers must choose between the Cayman coupe and Boxster convertible and either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. With pricing that starts at $58,150, the 718 is the most accessible way to a brand-new mid-engined sports car in America today.Porsche

Coming Soon: Chevrolet C8 CorvetteThe Corvette has, since its inception in 1953, had its engine placed up front. But the highly anticipated forthcoming eighth-generation model (C8) is shattering that tradition and going mid-engined. This new Vette is scheduled to debut in July, and final specifications are being held until then (along with the car's uncovered styling). We're expecting the C8 Corvette to launch with a 6.2-liter V-8 adapted from the outgoing C7 model, transmitting upward of 500 horsepower through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels. Look for more powerful versions to follow, with turbochargers and even a hybrid gas-electric model joining the sports car's all-American performance, uh, performance.Chevrolet

720s Track Pack 😳 ______________________________________ Ok the 720s does NOT make the 710bHp (much much more) that McLaren claims as it has beaten out nearly everything in its class and even cars above it in straight line speed and now they have unveiled a Track Pack to make it a monster on the circuit. 🔥Under the hood is the world leading 3.8L TT V8 making “710HP”, “568 lb-ft of torque” and a 212MPH TopSpeed 🔥This new package somehow trims off 53lbs from the 720s to bring the weight down to 2,917lbs. It also gets the rear hood, fender intakes and side mirrors in carbon, as well as the sports exhaust system, super light 10 spoke wheels, and a full carbon rear spoiler. It also gets carbon racing seats, carbon shifters, a titanium roll cage bar, three built in cameras for track data logging, and it costs $37,141…… or a total of $294,273 which actually is a bargain since is nearly is as good as the Senna which is going for around $1million! _______________________________________ EXTRA: They might not make a 720LT or whatever it would be called because it would seriously piss off Senna buyers… but then again they made the 675LT after the P1 and they were nearly on par in some cases. ________________________________________ - - #McLaren #720s #V8 #Senna #British #TrackPack #600LT #UK #Hyper #drive #carbon ||#powerful #performance #turbocharged #supercharged #advanced #SupercarsRevamped #Supercar #HyperCar #ItsWhiteNoise #CarLifeStyle #MadWhips #CupGang #Carstagram #BlackList #AmazingCars247 An #allcarnews post https://www.instagram.com/p/Boj8WQ7Bfw6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=670sxmauhbq4

McLaren 600LT Spider Teased
McLaren is expected to reveal a convertible version of the 600LT on January 16. In the meantime, this new teaser video will have to suffice.
McLaren hasn’t confirmed the identity of the new model, but the video makes it pretty obvious we’re looking at the 600LT Spider. In the video, we can see the model’s rear end, a 600LT license plate, and the silhouette of the car without its top. It also gets the same top-mounted exhaust as the 600LT coupe. The convertible will be the fifth model in McLaren’s Longtail family.
“Developed to meet the exacting McLaren LT philosophy of increased power, reduced weight, optimized aerodynamics, track-focused dynamics and limited availability, the new model will further broaden the level of choice for McLaren customers,” McLaren said in a press release.
Although the convertible may add some extra weight compared to the coupe, it should be business as usual for the most part. Expect the McLaren 600LT Spider to share the coupe’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 that makes 592 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
McLaren says the model will have a production run of just 12 months, so those who are interested will need to act quickly. Prices have not yet been announced, but considering the coupe starts at $240,000, the convertible should cost a pretty penny as well.

2020 McLaren 600LT
The 2020 McLaren 600LT Spider is available in a single well-equipped trim level. The McLaren 600LT standard equipment includes a crease of the hardtop, 20-inch rear wheels, and 19s at the front, Pirelli high-performance Trofeo R tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, LED headlights and taillights, keyless entry and ignition, cruise control, and McLaren’s onboard tour system. Air-conditioning, a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with navigation, voice controls, and a four-speaker audio system is not standard, but they can be equipped for cost purposes.

McLaren 600LT 2020 Spider
The McLaren 600LT offers many options to choose from, some bundled together and others standalone. The luxury package adds power-adjustable heated chairs, a power-adjustable steering column, and a 12-speaker stereo speaker. Various carbon fiber packaging provides carbon fiber touch on the inside and outside, including door insert, splitters and distributors, spoilers, and exterior mirror casing.

Available through McLaren Special Operations, there are even more carbon fiber scraps, lightweight racing seats, titanium wheel bolts, unique logos on the outside, and a myriad of color specifications for interior and exterior.
2020 McLaren 600LT Interior
Inside, the McLaren 600LT 2020 Spider cabin is smart, but the design is chic, and the materials used are of high quality. A flat-wheel steering wheel points to the driver, and the center stack is covered by a pair of circular air openings. Options such as heated front seats, a power-adjustable steering column, and soft locking doors allow you to increase the luxury quotient inside the cabin. As is typical for high-performance convertibles and exotic cars, the 600LT Spider does not exactly deliver a wealth of cargo space. It provides just 5.3 cubic feet of space for your equipment. McLaren equipped the 600LT Spider with Bluetooth phone connectivity and a few LCD screens. The options list includes a 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system.
2020 McLaren 600LT Engine
A dual-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 is under the bonnet of the 600LT, and this engine delivers a whopping 592 horsepower and a 457-pound torque. It is accompanied by a seven-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The muscular V-8 gives this McLaren the power to achieve breathtaking acceleration. McLaren estimates that the McLaren 600LT Spider will rise from zero to 60 km / h in just 2.9 seconds. The EPA did not provide fuel economy estimates for the McLaren 600LT for 2020, but we estimate a mileage of approximately 15/22 mpg city/highway. With rival Lamborghini Huracán, the mileage is far at 13/18 mpg.
2020 McLaren 600LT Safety
McLaren 600LT safety features include front and rear parking sensors and backup camera. The McLaren 600LT Spider in 2020 did not receive an overall crash test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). As is usually the case with supercars, the 2020 McLaren 600LT Spider has a thin selection of driver support features. Facilities such as a blind-spot warning system are not offered.
