I'm also gonna yap now yipeee
Uhm. Affection!! Wanted to think about how they would express and receive affection. Not only in a romantic context btw, just in general.
Matsu LOVES casual physical affection. He loves hugging people, holding hands with his friends, tackling them, just. Being all over the ones he loves. This also applies to non-physical affection, although a little less. However! He's really not the best when it comes to being on the receiving end of that affection.... Not because he doesn't like it or anything, it's just that his brain short-circuits, and he has no idea how to react. He loves receiving affection from people he trusts and, well, also loves (again, not necessarily romantically). I think the reason for him reacting that way could be that he's only started experiencing this after getting close with everyone in H♡L. Sure, he's been practically best friends with Fumi since ~middle school, but their falling out lasted at least a few years, and in that time Matsu didn't really get all that close with anybody else. Also, he doesn't like being super affectionate with people he isn't close with, or doesn't trust enough, or just isn't comfortable enough.
Toshiro isn't as enthusiastic... but they still like it. They like receiving affection, even if with some complaints (not seriously though) whenever Matsu tackles them. They're a little more reserved, but when he *really* loves someone, he'll stick to them like glue. I think his favorite way to show affection physically is through doing someone's hair. H♡L members often walk around with little braids or some uncharacteristic hairstyles because of that. He isn't very good with words though... but a little better than Matsu, who just. Would like to be able to express his feelings through something more than cutting himself off every 2 seconds because it's absolutely impossible for him to put the vague concept of his emotions into existing words. Toshiro is, indeed, a bit more successful in that, but still prefers quiet physical affection.
Fumi doesn't let herself be very emotionally open and vulnerable. That's what years of repressing and trying to get rid of any possible "weakness" will do. The person she lets to herself the closest is Matsu... she's more used to him and has a giant soft spot, even if she would deny it as much as she can (most of the time). However, Fumi still has ways in which her affection and appreciation towards someone end up being shown. It's pretty casual, and sometimes can seem a little mean, but she's trying her best. They often ruffle Matsu's hair, for example. Though Toshiro gets slightly "harsher" treatment, like very light shoves. Seina manages to escape all of that, though. She's not as close with Fumi as everyone else, but has this effect of calming her down and making her drop the defenses a little. I think over the course of the story Fumi will slowly learn to allow herself to be more vulnerable with people close to her.
Seina. Her affection is the most gentle, I think, but she expresses it more through words and caring for someone, rather than with physical touch. However, since I think I'm kinda focusing on physical affection here, she likes to pet her friends' heads, or dust them off, or just calmly hold their hands or shoulders.
They all also have slightly different ways of expressing affection towards each other that I thought of. Like Matsu tends to tackle Seina less, and more just hug her. With Toshiro he doesn't really hold back, as well as with Fumi. He also likes to try to ruffle Fumi's hair when she does it to him, though... have you seen how short I made him? there's no way that's even remotely easy. Toshiro likes to hug specifically Matsu a lot, but it's more calm than how Matsu himself does it... with Fumi, he often casually puts a hand on her shoulder, which she surprisingly allows. And with Seina, he plays with her hair probably even more than with everybody else's. I think I pretty much described Fumi's ways with everyone..? But something I didn't mention is that she often gives gifts to her friends. Which mostly involves flowers (of clourse)! She's a little embarrassed when doing it most of the time, but it's one of the few visible ways she can allow herself to show her appreciation to someone. Seina likes to do Toshiro's hair back, like he does to everyone, though she isn't really the best at it... they still like it! A lot, actually! She calms Fumi down with surprising ease and likes to allow them to lean onto her and just kinda... hang out like that. With Matsu she gets even more caring and worried than with everyone else, which can look pretty funny.
This might sound strange, seeing as Fumi is clearly the "keeps a tough front and rarely allows herself to show affection" person of the group, but Seina actually has a lot of trouble properly expressing her appreciation, maybe the most out of all of them. She kind of acts almost the same way with everybody, which results in people sometimes thinking she doesn't care enough about them personally. Repressing her own emotions in fear of burdening or upsetting her loved ones with them made it so that she isn't very good at expressing them when she wants to.
I am getting a little off topic? And also tired. Even though I absolutely love rambling about them,,,,, also, I think somewhere later I'll just be dumping all of the lore/details, actually maybe literally everything about Helianthus♡Light! to the side blog, for which!!!!! I still have to draw a few things bc I want it to look cool and pretty,,,,,,

It was dark out in the Division of Setagaya, and Mina Nakayama had just come back home from eating a “meal”. Reaching the steps of her residence, Mina was surprised to see a box addressed to her. Cautiously picking it up, Mina took it inside and opened it.
Inside was a gothic black lace parasol along with a matching lace fan. There was even a little bag to complete the look . Grabbing the parasol, Mina was surprised to see she could twist, and when she pulled on it, it revealed a sword. Finally, Mina noticed the note on the parasol and began to read it.

Mina, though she knew she shouldn't felt it hard to keep the smile off her face. This parasol would in come in handy, both during the day, and in the night. Though people would find it strange to see her carrying one around with her all the time... well, that's what her vampyr gifts were for. She regretted that this package came after she had just finished eating.
...
...But, maybe a "midnight snack" wouldn't hurt to keep her from coming out later on...

“Outside of the basic knowledge that most people have about his career in assassination, I don’t know much about him. Rumors circulate him constantly, however, knowing the bare minimum about his history, I don’t think it is wise to get too close to him. Being around someone like Mr. Mashiro can prove to be dangerous in most cases. I wouldn’t like to risk the chance.”
“...And I hope he hasn’t had to target them.”

“I’m a little too familiar with Mr. Kisaragi. In between working with the detective from Suginami and my young Master, I suppose it was inevitable. I want to say that he has developed an attraction for Mr. Edogawa, but it might be something more twisted. I had to step in when he began to threaten young Master Daiki for following the detective. Nothing drastic was done, I just assured Mr. Kisaragi that my young Master wouldn’t get in the way of their relationship and that young Master Daiki is not competition. Which, isn’t very far from the truth. Young Master simply looks up to Mr. Edogawa as a teacher and nothing more. For extra assurance, I promised that if my young Master were to cross Mr. Kisaragi’s boundaries, I would personally take care of the problem so that he would not get into trouble. What, with that little neck problem this team appears to have. That may be a partial lie… But it’s the only thing I can do to prevent a serial killer let loose to the person in my care.”
“Still, because of that, young Master Daiki can continue his activities peacefully and Mr. Kisaragi seems to be satiated. And as a bonus, the cheeky little thing doesn’t bother me. Not often, at least. I’ll entertain him if he spots me tailing the young Master, yet I try to keep a boundary between us. I know what he does with people who get close to him and I would rather not perish before I finish my mission.”

“The biggest headache of all… If you heard from young Master Daiki, you would be aware of the fraction of complaints we’ve been hearing from Master Akimi. Yes, a fraction. I am at the mercy of him as well and believe me, the calls from Master Akimi are much, much more emotional. If I were in the position to, I would tell him that we aren’t going to engage in a rap battle with him and we do not need his help to come up with lyrics to ‘diss’ this man. But I’m stuck smiling and nodding along with his suggestions. Still, I can’t say that I support his actions. Spontaneous men like Mr. Himura, who don’t think of the full consequences of their actions are less than respectable.”

“If this isn’t a proper good display of how Japan’s government is failing their country? Letting death row inmates rap battle their way out of their crimes? Crimes, for killing hundreds, even thousands of innocent people? It’s bugging me that my ahem… Connections are hyper-fixated on other things when this entire country is falling apart at the seams. But why should they care, when they’re sitting all posh in their bloody office chairs?”
“A-Apologies, I shouldn’t lose my temper. I’ve gone on about my displeasure for this team long enough. Excuse me.”

Strangely, another gift arrived for Soukoku Max, this gift was from Aomori's werewolf Aoi Yamamura
The gift is a mechanical toy that looks like a wolf
"happy birthday Max...from a wolf to another"- The Blue Wolf
"Aww, how cute." Ren smiled as he and Max looked at the toy mechanical wolf.
"More wolf stuff, you can have an entire room dedicated to wolves at this point." Kaiji commented, ignoring a look from Ren, Max didn't mind as he wasn't wrong, it seemed like every gift he's gotten today has been wolf themed, he wasn't complaining though, it was nice and it only served to make his love for the animal stronger.
At this point, the party was in full swing now that Ren, Kaiji, and the others have arrived along with Death Row Block convincing their parole officer to let them stay out a little longer since it was his birthday. They even sang him happy birthday and got him a cake.
Now Akari was showing Nagisa and Ryōhei one of her new gadgets, Akihisa and Rintaro were relaxing on the couch sharing some beer, and Touya was playing with Ayano and showing her some acrobatic tricks. All in all everyone was having a good time and Max couldn't be any more content.
Max felt Ren pat his head while Kaiji wrapped his arms around him in a hug, the brunette looked at his two closest friends, no, his brothers and smiled, holding the toy wolf tightly. Today has been a good day.

They would say nothing could stop her until the Katen over in Yokohama did and brutally if I may add.” Akihisa pulled out a cigarette lighting it. “In my opinion, I don't see what is so impressive of a girl who can ride a bike better than most.”

“How rare to see a nun in Japan given that Catholicism has little influence over the people here.” Akihisa mused. “Back in Italia many of the mafioso were deeply catholic and it was not uncommon for them to pray to the Virgin Mary before going out to kill a man. I always found it hypocritical of them to pray to such a venerated figure and then go commit atrocities. Personally, I lost all my faith in God after my mother’s death. May her own never falter because sometimes it's all you have.”

“Ah yes her.” Akihisa clicked his tongue. “The prosecutor at all of our trials. Unlike Touya and Rintaro whose trials were turned into circus shows by the media, my trial was forbidden to the public. Chuohku was afraid I would spill government secrets. As if many of their secrets aren't already out in the open.” Akihisa scoffed. “That being said the only people in the courtroom were the judge, the jury, the prosecution, the defense, and I obviously. Yuzairu barely let that bother and carried forth with her statements. In any other circumstance, I would admire Yuzairu’s determination but it’s quite vexing when that determination is set on you at the moment. It makes it hard to plan, you see.”

“Frankly, I care very little for this team. Note
The sun was setting on the city of Kumamoto. A tall imposing man placed 2 boxes in front of a vintage-looking home. The figure knocked on the door. Then without waiting for someone to open the door, the imposing man walked off, his trench cloak trailing behind him.
Kunio Chōten hearing the knock on his front door rose from his seat. Opening the door Kunio noticed no one was there and was going to close it until he saw a rather long gift on his front porch. Bringing it inside Kunio was quick to open it up.
Inside the box was a gorgeous sword and scabbard. The pommel of the sword was covered in red roses and thorn vines. The actual blade of the sword was beautiful as well with its red metallic color and roses engraved on the steel. The scabbard matched the sword perfectly with its red coloring and silver rose accents. Blinking at the gift Kunio noticed a letter tapped inside the box and grabbed it.
“Hollow,
Happy Birthday. You seem to like roses very much so I had an old contact make this with you in mind. Whether you use it for actual combat or as a decoration I dont care. It is yours to use as you please.

Putting the sword down along with the note, Kunio moved on to the other box, opening it up.
Inside the box was a top hat and a walking cane. Picking up the top hat Kunio placed it on his head. He moved to pick up the cane and to his shock, the end of the cane came alight letting out a loud buzzing noise. Quickly checking to see if a note had come with it and sure enough, a note was tucked inside.

The hat is made out of the same stuff as my jacket and as such is bulletproof and fireproof. The cane has an electric mode and can stop a heart if you so wish. "a gift from the grimm reaper himself...well this is something shocked"-he whisper with a gasp,"The grimm reaper" was infamous in Japan's underground but Kunio back his look the the sword and scabbard
Was something... gorgeous,he love the roses and one reason for he is well know in the theater was his habit of often use rose and it petals on his entrances
"use it as decoraction? Are very gorgeous yeah but i'm will use in combat"-thought Kunio,on his "job" as informant usually use knifes but in the others "missions" related to the plan of revolution, kunio needed something more than it and the sword was perfect
His eyes looked at the Cinder's note,he giving her information before
Kunio smirked,yeah in combat he don't is very good,not like Kururi or Ryukyu and since a time Kunio wanted change it so the hat and cane,also the blade was perfect for him
His way of fight was more dramatic and theatric (like him) than they partners something that with the cane and the hat fit perfectly
"yeah,I will give to much people a "shock" with this"-laughing of his own joke Kunio take both gifts and take it to the "basement"
