okay gangsta fandom so there's. something i've& noticed looking at some of the sections in CURSED near the end &... that's this picture

notice how the edges of this pictureframe of the second destroyers together are burned. it looks like somebody tried to destroy the picture but couldn't bring themselves to do it. so... here comes my& theory. my& theory is that after he defected from the second destroyers & luca cristiano took him in, marco still held onto these pictures and no matter how hard he tried to do it, he just couldn't bring himself to burn the picture, OR striker was the one who tried but couldn't do it, but my& gut feeling is telling me& that it was marco who was the one who tried to burn it. & that makes it all the more heartbreaking because as much as he's moved on, as much as he's changed factions, as much as he loves connie, as much as he loves galahad, as much as he loves loretta and how devoted he was to luca, i& genuinely can't see marco just... letting all that go. see, marco's a sentimental man. he couldn't fathom the guilt of murdering marie / maverick, his older sister figure; that's why he sees her in hallucinations after all these years. he couldn't bear the guilt of knowing that minimi, his older brother figure, died out there when he wasn't watching out for him. he couldn't bear the guilt of knowing that he was the one who broke off the close friendship that he, striker and beretta had, which is why he hesitated to hurt beretta in particular to the same extent he'd hurt striker when they reunited fifteen years later. he couldn't bear the guilt of failing to keep his promise to striker, to kill him.

ethel cain once said, "he'll scream and try to wash it off of his fingers but he'll never escape what he's made up of; the fates already fucked me sideways swinging by my neck from the family tree". so. yeah. hope that made y'all die inside like i& did LMAO
