So one thing I absolutely want from the show is to be able to see the Forsaken before they turned. Like I don’t want it too drawn out but I want at least glimpses of them in the AoL
I think we’re very likely to see Mierin in the Rhudiean visions and given her role in everything, she’s probably the one I want to see the most. But after that, the one I absolutely want to see is Kamarile Maradim Nindar
because I just find her sudden flip soooo fascinating and I kinda want to see what might have made it happen but also I kinda don’t want to see it at all.
I kinda just want to see Kamarile, the ascetic and world famous psychiatrist that could heal even the most extreme cases of madness. I want to see her at her peak, showing absolutely no indication that she would even slip up a little.
And then cut to the present day, and we see Graendal in all her hedonistic glory, with absolutely no explanation on how that change happened, but it’s clearly the exact same person

Graendal is well drawn as a symbol of human disillusionment and fatigue. A villainous representation for how far a desire to help people can be twisted, corrupted, and eventually snuffed out.
Graendal is confident, perceptive, and intelligent and at first she wanted to use what she had to do good. To be good. But then... Then it kept taking from her. It's so draining, so frustrating, always noticing the patterns. Always losing.
She notices as people keep making the wrong choices over and over. As the world keeps making the wrong choices over and over. History and humanity. A cycle that will not break. She wants it to break.
Being good begins to feel like a sisyphean boulder, getting heavier the more she's pushing it up the hill. Kamarile Maradim Nindar starts resenting watching it roll down. Is bored of watching it roll down. She snaps.
Graendal is taking some extended her time. Why not? Everyone else can be selfish. She can still do some good while taking care of her needs too. If people are miserable and keep making the wrong choices? Well, she can take their pain away in an instant. Replace it with love and pleasure. She'll take care of them, they obviously can't take care of themselves.

it’s amusing to me to consider how and why and in what order the forsaken chose to bail out of their slowly rotting utopia so I have decided to envision in my head a scenario where RIGHT before she goes to shayol ghul to pledge herself to the shadow, kamarile maradim nindar speculates out loud at like a psychiatrist convention about why so many of the other psychiatrists refuse to use their knowledge of their patients’ problems to “encourage” them into giving up all their worldly possessions and connections that are causing them so much of the unhappiness bringing them into the therapists’ offices and live ascetically with no worldly pleasures at all because that’s the best way to live morally and aren’t they doing their patients a disservice by not compelling them down the right path? isn’t really unethical not to do what’s best for these poor patients who don’t understand the right path as well as they (she) does? aren’t people in the position to know better have a responsibility to guide the poor souls in the world who couldn’t ever possibly understand as well as them? why is it that no one seems to even want to meet her superior moral standards?
and all the other psychiatrists speedwalk away from her and directly to the hall of servants to tell the aes sedai about that conversation and lews therin just goes “uh oh.” like a looney tunes character holding lit dynamite

AU where Graendal “Human Pet Fan” Kamarile Maradim Nindar ends up manipulating the Seanchan empire instead of Semirhage
I’m not going anywhere with this, I just think she’d be really into the concept of damane

Practice on Provisional Arrangements in maritime Disputed Areas, JOINT DEVELOPMENT ZONES, Kuwait-Saudi Arabia case
Background
A joint development zone in the Persian Gulf between Kuwait and Saudi
Arabia developed from the “Neutral Zone” established by the Al Uqair
Protocol of 1922 in their land border areas where a land boundary line
could not be agreed upon. This provided, that “. . . the Government of Najd
and Kuwait will share equal rights
until through the good offices of Great Britain a further agreement is made . . .
concerning it”. The Neutral Zone covered a land area of 5,700 km2. Through
the history of exploration, common and co-ordinated modes of exploitation
have been established in the Neutral Zone. Similar practices of joint exploration
and exploitation also have been established in offshore areas of the
Neutral Zone.
In 1965 an international boundary line was drawn between the countries
in the Neutral Zone. The boundary line extends from land to the territorial
sea. However, the boundary does not affect the nature of the Neutral
Zone and its offshore areas in terms of exploitation of natural resources.
With respect to the submerged area beyond the territorial sea, the two countries
agreed to exercise their equal rights by means of shared exploration
unless the two countries would agree otherwise.
Map 1: Neutral Zone between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia
(Source: M. Miyoshi, The Joint Development of Offshore Oil and Gas
in relation to Maritime Boundary Delimitation, IBRU Maritime Briefing 1999)
Methods of Shaping the JDZ
As the background of the establishment of the Neutral Zone shows, the
Neutral Zone in the land territory corresponded to the area where the two
countries could not agree on land boundaries. The submersed maritime zone
pertaining to the Neutral Zone of the land also became a joint development
zone later on. However, the seaward limit of the joint continental shelf
seems obscure because there is no maritime boundary between Kuwait and
Iran until now.
Operational Mechanism and the Effectiveness of the Arrangement
The Protocol of 1922 does not provide a detailed mechanism to facilitate
joint development. What is clear from the Protocol is that the two States
have equal shares in joint and undivided property in the Neutral Zone. Each
government granted concessions to their own concessionaires but let their
concessionaires co-operate with each other. For example, the Pacific Western Oil Corporation (subsequently Getty Oil Company), which is the concessionaire of Saudi Arabia, entered into an agreement on joint drilling with
American Independent Oil Company (Aminoil) in 1956. The two companies
signed a joint operating agreement in 1960. The joint drilling and joint
operation of the two concessionaires were under the supervision of a Joint
Operating Committee. Later, in 1965, the two governments established a
Joint Permanent Committee. It is noteworthy that of the seven jointly
developed fields in the Persian Gulf, four, including the largest, are found
in the Neutral Zone.
Delimitation Issue
As there are two islands in dispute between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, the
delimitation of maritime boundaries has proved to be difficult. The two
islands are Qarah and Umm al-Maradim. These have been under the Kuwaiti
control and claimed by Saudi Arabia. In 1961 Kuwait offered to Saudi
Arabia a half share of any income accruing from future exploitation in
return for the Saudi Arabian acknowledgement of the Kuwaiti sovereignty
over the islands. However, Saudi Arabia has yet to make a decision on the
offer.

Do you have a favorite Forsaken?
I do! My favorite is one that most people hate most, or second-to-most (sometimes edged out by Rahvin), Graendal.
I am absolutely fascinated by the backstory here, going from Kamarile Maradim Nindar, noted ascetic who eschewed all softness and pleasure in favor of rigid self-control, to Graedal, epicurean hedonist who is (seemingly) solely motivated by her own pleasures, however debased.
The fact that she was a famed psychiatrist in the Age of Legends and could heal mental conditions better than anyone else is also fascinating. I want to know more about the intersection of those identities – how does the psychiatry specialty affect (or vice versa) the ascetic behavior, and how does her pivot to the indulgent and self-absorbed pleasure-seeker mesh with her knowledge of the mind and her old life? RJ said she saw that no one else would ever measure up to her standard, and so she decided to abandon them and do whatever she wanted.

Coalition aircraft attack Iraqi Navy vessels at the Al Kalia naval facility, hitting a missile boat with two laser-guided bombs and straddling another with twelve 500-pound (227-kg) bombs; helicopters from the American guided-missile frigate USS Nicholas (FFG-47) engage four Iraqi patrol boats near Maradim Island, destroying one and damaging two; and U.S. Navy A-6 Es destroy an Iraqi patrol boat in Kuwait Harbor with two laser-guided bombs. The Coalition claims to have sunk or damaged 83 Iraqi Navy vessels thus far in the Gulf War, with Coalition aircraft inflicting most of the losses. Iraqi antiaircraft artillery shoots down a U.S. Navy A-6E Intruder near Kuwait City, Kuwait, an Iraqi short-range surface-to-air missile downs a U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II, and a U.S. Marine Corps AH-1 J SeaCobra crashes due to non-combat causes while returning from an armed escort mission.
