So, Im gonna guess you have an understanding of aromantic right? Where you dont feel romantic attraction.
Well, just like ace, aro has a spectrum. The ace equivalent of arospike is actually just called acespike.
But to put it simply, my ‘baseline’ attraction level is little to none. Im basically just aromantic 90% of the time. Every once in a while though, I will just get this ‘spike’ of romantic attraction targeted at a person. Usually it only lasts from a few days to like 2 weeks. But because I dont feel these emotions often, they can be REALLY overwhelming and usually (for me at least) all I can really focus on. And then once the spike is over I go back to my ‘baseline’ level
It took me a while to figure out I was a-spec actually because of that. I didnt start IDing as a-spec until half way through college, and found the term arospike existed about a year ago now? For a little while I used cupioromantic, but arospike is a LOT more accurate for me

while i loved posting for spn its not a fandom or username i want to associate with (for my own reasons, i love the show still and the fanbase).
i'll still be creating fanart for all my different fandoms and might post some of them here eventually. i've just been (admittedly) experiencing a lot of paranoia around my online presence and privacy, which is why i've also been deleting any personal/non-art posts off this blog.
but i really do appreciate all the support i've recieved across different platforms and fanbases and im so so lucky to be able to share my work with people :D

Hi! I'm working on my first pair of crust punk pants and was wondering about what type of stitching to use. I use a running stitch on my battle jacket patches, but I've noticed that a lot of people in the punk scene use a whip stitch for their patches. Does the whip stitch hold any significance, or is it more for practical purposes? Any advice is much appreciated!
When I first started sewing, I always did running stitches. When I started working on my jacket and sewing patches, I found that it was a lot easier and faster for me to do whip stitches, and I also thought they looked better, especially if you sew with floss. And it also helps hold the edges down well.
I cant say from much more of a practical perspective than that if there's a reason whip stitches are better than running stitches. Any one else is welcomed to add their thoughts of course

Thats okay! Not everyone experiences alterous attraction. And the way you experience it might also be different. I guess its easier for me to identify cause I have a lot more things that I wouldnt do with normal friends. Even something simple like cuddling or putting my arm around someone while watching a movie. NOT a thing Im comfortable doing with most of my friends.
But every once in a while, a person comes along that I am comfortable doing some extra things with. Take my platonic life partner for example, I’m comfy doing most things that arent *too* intimate with her. She exists on a different level I guess than most of my other friends. However I wouldnt say Im alterously attracted to her. My connection with her is more like a familial one than anything.
But then take Mountain Boy, he is someone I am comfortable doing all the same things with as my plp, but there is also a pull to him that I experience. While Im comfortable doing the same activities with my plp, I dont actively seek them out like I do with Mountain Boy. Really, for me, I wont experience alterous attraction to anyone that I wouldnt also have romantic or sexual attraction towards (during a spike). But thats not to say that everyone I’d experience a spike for is also going to cause me to be alterously attracted to. If that makes sense.
Take the last guy I was into romantically, when I was out of a spike, I felt no desire to be closer to him or do things with him that I wouldnt with a close friend. He wasnt even on the level of my plp with things I was comfortable doing with him. But with Mountain Boy I do have that desire to be close even when Im not feeling anything romantic.
It’s possible that you aren’t currently experiencing alterous attraction to anyone right now. And thats okay. And its also okay if you arent sure. Or if you change your stance later on. This stuff is kinda hard to figure out sometimes.
And Im sorry if any of my explanations are bad lol. Its hard cause I can really only give you an answer through my own experiences. But obviously, everyones experiences with this stuff will be different

Have a pic of my cat, her name is Indy
She is wonderful! I love her!
I myself have one cat, but we have seven in our house in total.... be warned, this post is long, but most of it is pictures, also the death of a cat pictured is mentioned, though only briefly
this is Skeeter, she is our smallest lady, and was disfigured by three botflies (one in each cheek, and one in her chest). she has wicked trauma from her medical history and us having to handle her abruptly and aggressively, she is one of our five feral cats
this is Huck (like Huckleberry Finn) he is one of are largest boys, and a member of the second feral litter, he is our anxious little boy who is slowly growing out of our shell, but he sometimes "crybabies" which is where he roams the house and meows until one of us come down to him and pet him, his meows sound like little "wah"s
this is Taz, like Tasmanian Devil, he got his name because when he was a kitten he would wrap around your foot and spin, giving you very painful paper cuts in the process. he is our smallest boy, and also our craziest, though he has adapted to domestic life the most, and has accepted every ounce of affection we give him, and has learned to annoy us so we play with him and his family with the red light
this is Casper, he is our biggest cat, and the older brother to the rest of the ferals, he is a member of Boo's first litter, and the only one who survived. he is a good big brother who takes time to give TLC to his siblings, teach them what he knows, and teaching them boundaries as time passes and new boundaries need to be made, or old ones need to be broken. he is also an actual gentleman, this isn't me doing internet stuff, he is actually a gentlemanly cat
this is Finn (like Huckleberry Finn), he is the ring leader of the second feral litter, is the bravest of them all, and is the first feral you'll see if you visit, he is also the most likely to strike instead of flee, but normally he is a crazy baby who loves his ears scratched
this is Boo, the mother of our ferals, she died a few weeks after these photos, she passed due to botflies, she fed her kittens at our door, facing the door, locked eyes with mom, left them under the deck, went away and passed her death hit us hard and is why we rescued all five of our little bastards
this is my cat, Cricket, she's our stray rescue and our softest cat, and our biggest cuddle bug, she comes to me and screams until I hold her like a baby while she naps
this is our 20 year old cat, Phoebe, also known as Old Lady, she doesn't do much but nap, but we love her and she has life in her, she screams at us until we get her wet food (we feed everyone wet food, but we save hers and give her serving throughout the day)

wait no you can't do this do me.... you can't get me hooked on beaujes again...... my brain just freed me from my four year cr hyperfixation!!! i was about to move on....... but now i can't stop thinking about beaujes ten years later 🥲
the way i have almost written a fic very similar but i was always to scared to post about it,, you're braver than any us marine 🫡 but literally every point you've made so far i'm like. yes. yes exactly that is exactly what i imagined. anyway i can't wait to see what you do with it!!
i knooow like! I think all of us have, imagined something like this loosely in our heads even if we didn't write it down bc we all know that a) there is a catharsis pending and b) how the backlash would be fucking tremendous and we'd be so easily called all kinds of vile things bc it isn't the whole toxic positivity of cr's "aaaand they lived happily ever after!! the end" ... and tbh I myself was scared to write it down until recently bc I was afraid of backlash from the cr fanatics. they take it so personally when things deviates from the hivemind norm.
but. I got talking abt beaujes from that random anon the other day and I realized... I don't care. I don't care what those fanatics think bc this fic is purely self-indulgent and it's messy and. I am far enough away emotionally from the source material to be able to explore beaujes honestly again, without feeling bad about it.
I would love to hear abt ur fic, if u wanna talk abt it! I am so fond of stories that happen after the curtains fall, the behind the curtains take of an alleged 'happy ever after'... which is why I set the premise for this ten years later when both beau and jes and well into their upper 30s... having experienced the world outside of each other too, with their significant time apart from each other, which. presents an interesting avenue to explore and reflect on as older people now!
#it was an anazing feeling for me to start talking abt beaujes and realize.#i dont feel any kind of anger anymore at what happened.#instead i see unbriddled potential for whats to come after.#as adults as middle-aged people w the complexities of a will-they-wont-they history#and i realized im not even afraid to break b/y up bc its not something im doing out of malice.#its just something to me that's inevitable. and honest to the narrative. so i can't really feel bad abt it.#and i dont really fear the c/r hounds anymore. its hard to be scared of ppl whose opinions mean fuckall to me lol#very refreshing to realize i can partake in beaujes. without feeling the baggage of emotions that i used to.#thank u for ur support i promise this will be fun journey bc i intend to pick at old woulds.#all the old beaujes moments and communications that almost happened but never did.#i intend to pick at those old scabs and see if i can make them bleed again <3#mail tag#beaujester 10 years later
