literally when the pirate au bug bit me, i had one (1) scene in mind and zero plot, and i expected it to fizzle in a month or less like the strong majority of my projects—but it's been almost a calendar year, and not only am i still pluggin away at it, it's by far the most narratively and stylistically complex thing i've ever done, and the most heartfelt, and (imo) the best. 81k words, 8 out of 11+epilogue chapters written, and i'm just eternally astonished by that!!! like thank god for celebros's enthusiasm tbh, and her truly bonkers amount of joy when i worked up the guts to ask her to write it with me—and her patience w my standing issues w collaboration. it's frankly un-fucking-speakable how much growth this story has shepherded me through, and i am gonna cry like the fucking tides when we write the final word soon and start posting it.

this emotional outburst brought to you by the other emotional outburst i had when i cracked into the third run at a rly vulnerable beshelar scene, realized several hundred words into it that it was gonna be the third scene in a row to absolutely wreck me and hollered I CANNOT DO THIS RIGHT NOW and slammed my laptop shut sjfkdnfjfkg (fuck i cannot wait to be off work and get back to it tonight)

not to jinx anything but s6 looks v good and its probably because the writers aren't trying to make old + new characters fit into the same season anymore

additional fun cillian fact ive been struggling with a voiceclaim for him for ages that isnt just. the canon m!hawke voice. and honestly ive decided to just lean into the indecision and make his accent fucking crazy like he's been hanging out w shady individuals his whole life in ferelden and antiva and it's only exacerabated with being a refuge in kirkwall's lowtown so like. especially late into his free marches life he picks up a lot of different accents from a lot of different communities. mostly it's a combo of ferelden and dwarven tho. a sure sign he hangs out way too much with varric <3
