I got dragged into precure recently so.
Rejoice, magical girl submas upon ye
What if Arceus and Giratina were teeny fairy mascots and the twins can activate a magical girl transformation with cute magical pokeballs
As much as I love Giratina, it was hard to make a demon snake thing look cutesy so. Cat time.

Ingo can fly, Emmet can make floating golden platforms to step on.
Emmet is taller bc of Arceus-given heels. Go off.
Emmet can use the floating spiky things behind him as a weapon. Ingo just has a gun. A hot pink cutesy gun covered in ribbons but it's a gun.
Ingo's cape looks like a Minecraft end portal bc if he moves the texture stays static. It also works like a hammer space. Infinite storage in the distortion cape.
Both of their hair gets longer when they do the magical girl transformation but instead of just getting fluffier like Emmet, Ingo goes from small ponytail to longer than waist length hair. Wooo!
What do they do? Beats me. Haven't thought about that yet. But I do know Ingo baffles the hisuians and laughs at Volo for failing to realize his trump card up and left.

ITTY BITTY CREATURES for @fourphoenixfeathers 's precure au! drew the original design for the giratina but didn't really like how it turned out so i drew Worm Version As Well. i am not immune to the worm hfkshsjshsksjdjf (ALSO original arceus version doesn't have the dark face patch. idk how that happened here with mine considering i was looking at a ref quite often)

Originally I wasn't going to show anything for this until I was finished but today is Cure Wing Debut Day (for non Precure fans, Cure Wing is the First Main Male Precure, main specifically because there has been male Precure just not a main one till now but the point is it's a good day) and I thought it be nice to show what I was working on. This is what's done of the Second Pass, I'm planning to do a third pass after to clean it up and fix things (this is very much a rough sketch with blatant disregard for keeping designs in tact) but for now here's what's finished for that.
I've never done a transformation sequence before now, and a duo transformation sequence with a handholding motif is...very much a challenge. I dunno how the Mahou Tsukai team did it 4 times but good for them because my hands hurt.
I used the Go Princess Theme because it's my favorite and I like it. I still like it actually even though I've heard it so many times now. I just love it so so much-
It took me till the end of the initial sketching that I could of given them a heart motif this entire time. All those hearts you see during the spin? Weren't there originally, it took me ages to realize I could do that.
I've also never drawn Ingo and Emmet before, there not that hard to draw for me honestly it's just their eyes that give me trouble and I Don't Know Why. Here's hoping I'll figure out how to draw them when I get to the third pass.

This is admittedly an act of hubris but god do I know I'm probably gonna do it again. I got plans for attacks and scenes (and I'm still trying to talk my brain out of doing an opening and Not Succeeding)

pokemon in this world are magical creatures that can take on a weapon form when they bond with someone
archeops is a crossbow and chandelure can also be a normal lantern (spell focus)

I forgot about this sketch but since I'm never finishing it apparently. Just gonna throw it out there.
I had this thought that Ingo would be really enthusiastically doing the transformation script while his animation is just kinda. Static. And meanwhile Emmet is going ham with the poses and barely saying anything akmdjckfmfg
(also I changed Emmet's cape a tiny bit. I thought a narrower cape instead of a really wide one would look more like train tracks.)

I'm so sorry @fourphoenixfeathersthers but unfortunately the brain worms have infested me and I now have a Cure Unity ref.
For people who don't know Unity is a fusion of Ingo and Emmet (ala Mugen Silhouette) except it's a midseason power upgrade/cure instead of a end-of-season one.
-Call Phrase is "The light that shines throughout the world! Cure Unity!"
-Uses he/him and they/them because they are Ingo, Emmet, both and neither, all at once.
-I didn't draw his weapon here but it exists! It has no name yet though so I'm not gonna talk about it further. Just know it exists.
-As mentioned in the ref he only has extreme expressions, so for example, even if he's just mildly bothered by something he'll look really worried or anxious.
-As also mentioned in the ref his mouth does not indicate who's more "in control" it's simply not how it works and he doesn't like people assuming that's how it works.
-It's a bit hard to explain but it's basically a mind meld, just a bit more fluid, sometimes the tracks diverge a bit but they will always be tied together somehow.
-The ref lists two hearts + pokeball and basically this transformation happens because their hearts are merged together...so its actually a heart meld not a mind meld huh...the point is the pokeball changes to reflect that.
-I imagine that if he was real, people would argue for months about his color classification but then Toei would call him a Gold Cure and make No One Happy
-I got so much More but it's so much easier to write fic about them so yeah, Unity!
Also I've just realized that the two hearts thing becomes really funny considering Ei...incredibly amusing situation going on here.

I told myself to hold this in Until I finished the transformation sequence (which is fully sketched out it just needs to be cleaned up, its not fully animated but its real :D) but unfortunately I love Precure and Magical girls and @fourphoenixfeathers AU has transfixed me so your getting AU Thoughts:
-Emmet and Ingo are a duo transformation ala Nagisa and Honaka. They cannot transform without each other and transforming involves them holding hands.
(Look Emmet and Ingo are literally black and white and it's also the Precure Anniversary. I need to reference the OGs)
-How Precure work in this universe is basically me mashing what I've heard about Happiness Charge (haven't watched it yet but have heard about its setting) into the pokemon world. So there's International Precure and they help the legendaries out but they aren't given powers by Them. In my head I reasoned that Precure just...seem out of Arceus jurisdiction so there is now Something Else giving people Precure powers. But legendaries can call on Precure if they need some help. That's what Kyurem did for Emmet and Ingo (and then later what Arceus did just without properly asking)
-While Emmet and Ingo are a bit outside the usual age range there not the only adult Precure. I haven't really thought of who else would be one except like...N. (he's 20) I'll think about it a bit more but the point is Anyone can be a Precure.
-Emmet and Ingo first became Cures around the start of BW2, they help out with Kyurem and the Dna splicer situation. Before that the plot of BW was mostly handled by Hilda, Bianca, Cheren and then the Midseason Cure N. There still here but Emmet and Ingo being there lightens the load a lot so it goes a bit smoother...Kyurem fusion still happens though! Both Dragons get fused! It Does Not Go Well! They fix it but that involves a secret special mode I haven't drawn yet (for people who know what Infinity Silhouette is, its that, but Emmet and Ingo get a weaker version of it in the middle of the season, it's there power up :D)
-Legends Arceus however is mainly dealt by Ingo and Emmet until midseason cure stuff happens. They go together because of the aforementioned Duo Situation. I imagine its possible to force them into a situation where they are forced to transform alone. However their Cure forms would probably destabilize and be a lot weaker than it would be if they were together.
-It's simply just not worth it unless you want to purposefully weaken them and and even then an unstable Cure is a bit of a risky situation. If Ingo was amensia-ed in this AU it would be Bad for Everyone.
-Cures overall have a pretty tight-knit community, usually there all really busy but if there in the area/its a really bad situation they'll help out.
-Pokemon can become Cures in the same way Fairies can become Cures. There's not a lot of them but there around. I'm mentioning this because i have plans for other regions (most notably Galar and...if Ash Ketchum ever gets brought in, Kanto.)
-A not insignificant amount of the Nimbasa City population has connected the dots between Emmet and Ingo and Cure Truth and Cure Ideal. It's an unsaid agreement to not say anything, they did however freak out when they found out that they existed in Hisui.
On another thing that's not in-universe AU content:
I love magical girls, so of course when I heard this AU my brain started to think about why Ingo and Emmet work really well as magical girls. Because they really do! I think it's mostly because both of them in there game dialogue are just really sincere and don't hold anything back. The sincerity and earnestness of there personality lends itself well to magical girls to me. I have more thoughts on that but I'm tired, but yeah my point is they work well together.

Gonna talk about my version of @fourphoenixfeathers Magical Trainguys AU Lore for the monsters-of-the-week cause my brain cant stop thinking about it.
I showed a bit of it in Quantum Entanglement but the process for the monsters in the submas area specifically is that there created when someone’s heart gets sealed away. I...did not mean to have this many Heartcatch references, I was thinking about the Go Princess Dream Sealing during this-
Anyhow, usually the ones who get their hearts sealed away are pokemon (referencing Colress who in the anime just...made incredibly powerful pokemon brainwashing machine that could control even legendary pokemon) and that’s usually what their fighting, husks of pokemon who only want to do the bidding of the villain, their heart comes back to them when they get defeated though.
But sometimes humans get targeted and things get more complicated there, usually that human goes catatonic and then the heart gets placed into either a husked-mon or into a robot. These versions are more powerful than just, grabbing a random pokemon and sealing their heart away.
Now usually they don’t enter hearts, Ingo’s situation was a outlier. But each heart (including pokemon ones) have themed dungeons basically. Those dungeons do their best to make whatever enters follow the rules of the dungeon so that they don’t reach the center of it (where the inner heart resides).
Ingo’s dungeon was time-based because I was referencing Ingo’s dialogue about the future and Legends Arceus and all that (and also that Digimon Tamers scene with multiple Guilmons-)
And now I get to the point of why I wrote this. I got an idea for Emmet’s and I can’t really think of a good reason for Why he’d get heart-sealed unless it was a alternate version of Quantum Entanglement so I’m putting it here. I don’t exactly got a concrete idea but I keep on thinking about it...
Cause at the moment I think Emmet’s dungeon is theater themed, it’s a play. One with a concrete beginning, middle and end, unlike Ingo’s dungeon which changed, Emmet’s stays static. It doesn’t change, when the dungeon wants you to play a role it will make you play that role, no matter how much you might not want to.
The play itself will railroad you into doing the Thing it Wants You To Do. It will make you trip if it means you stab someone for the plot. Puppet strings all over this stage.
(And also Prince Motifs but that’s a whole Other Fucking Thing-)

Which. Completely fair. I could do better.
But also part of my decision there was that Giratina doesn't translate well to specifically the magical girl aesthetic. That's probably also a creativity issue and probably also my lack of experience with magical girl anime.
*holds wormtina* I love him. Baby. But the aesthetic demanded compromise.
