⚡️Tales of Madeira⚡️Published by @ferocemagazine (Scotland) November Vol. 4 📸: This series shows a colorful street photo-narrative made of individual curious finds in urban and rural settings taken in Madeira, in 2019. It belongs to an ongoing project entitled “Tales” that presents places through the photographic fetishes of the author: the plastic people he finds in the shop windows, religious icons, street portraits, and food. These are the same motifs that can be found in his travel and street series. Seigar always uses reflections and saturated colors to emphasize the aesthetics of his obsession with pop culture. Semplicemente AUNT SARA / Simona Bonanno

“Contemporaneità” in senso astratto è il complesso e l'aspetto dei fenomeni culturali e spirituali dell'età presente.

Questa definizione, comparata alla nostra contemporaneità, genera un’immagine del nostro isolamento e solitudine; attualmente le nostre giornate sono alla ricerca di quel tempo in cui noi tutti potremmo definirci liberi.

Siamo tutti coscienti di ciò che ha comportato questo virus nel nostro vivere il quotidiano, inoltre ha portato alla luce il concetto di abitudine ed di abitare il presente.

Tutto viene sottoposto ad un’auto-critica, ad una riflessione della propria persona e del proprio punto di vista.

La fotografia parrebbe essere coerente a quanto appena riportato, in fondo noi scattiamo ciò che viene portato sotto la nostra osservazione, dando come risultato ultimo la nostra percezione; ma un’altra “magia” della fotografia è quello di rimanere semplici osservatori.

L’osservare attraverso la macchina fotografica richiede rispetto e cura a chi si mostra, ciò è ben dimostrato, secondo la mia opinione dal progetto fotografico “Aunt Sara” ( o Zia Sara ) di Simona Bonanno.

Ritornando al concetto di solitudine e abitudine, due parole che oggi stiamo tutti rivalutando, c’è chi invece ne era già a conoscenza e ne ha fatto tesoro nel tempo e chi, nel caso di Simona, le ha volute riportare alla luce attraverso gli scatti che ritraggono sua zia.

Il progetto, inizialmente chiamato "24 hours x 90 years”, è in lavorazione dal 2012 ha da qualche anno cambiato nome diventando semplicemente “Aunt Sara”.

Zia Sara rappresenta una generazione che vive tra passato e presente. Trascorrere una giornata con lei è vivere in una storia senza tempo che si ripete ogni giorno: ogni ora ha un'abitudine, una luce, un oggetto, un movimento, un suono.

A quasi cento anni, Aunt Sara è occupata tutto il giorno: lettura, giardinaggio, cucina, faccende domestiche.

Sono sinceramente affascinata da questa fascia di persone che vive costantemente tra l’era passata e quella attuale. Ognuno di loro cerca di stare al passo con i tempi, al tempo stesso proteggendosi nel loro personale mondo senza tempo….

Il progetto “Aunt Sara” ha ricevuto, premi e menzioni in numerose competizioni fotografiche. è inoltre stato promosso su emittenti, magazine e riviste di settore. Tra cui: Imago@Catullo, La Grande Photo, Best of Photography, Moscow International Foto Awards, Kolga Award, International Photography Awards.

É stato inoltre promosso su Dodho Magazine (2014), Lens Culture (2014) e l’emittente CNN (2015).
