Eberron au Fjord is definitely going to manifest the mark of Finding because I think it's interesting, but I'm also leaning towards Nott having the mark of Hospitality that is still somewhere on her in her goblin form. so instead of her hiding herself because she's a goblin since, well, there's really nothing wrong with her being a goblin out in public, she has to hide the mark on her that would give away the fact that she's a halfling

also since Essek isn't a dunamancy wizard in the Eberron au I needed something else for him, so instead he's the right hand of prince oargev, but he's been using that position to his own ends and he's heavily involved with the Last War, as seems to be Essek's habit with being involved in wars

I wish I had the energy and time to write longfic these days because I just want to make my m9 Eberron au exist in the world with more than just the few sketches I've made of it but retail is so draining

Thinking about the changes I'm making to the m9 to make them fit a bit more cohesively into Eberron. Beau's not human, she's Kalashtar now, but she looks exactly the same save her eyes glow a bit. Molly's snake tattoo is a couatl now, he's Risian tiefling. Caleb's scars still have bits of gemstone in them. Jester's a Thelanian tiefling and she has a weird aura about her and sometimes she just manifests her little unicorns. Yasha's wings cycle through appearances of feathered, metallic, and demonic. Nott doesn't have to wear her mask. Fjord doesn't have to have anxiety about bullying as a kid because half-orcs are totally chill in Eberron. Caduceus is weird because firbolgs are rare but it'll be fine.

also I don't touch on it in what I've written so far but in the Eberron au, Fjord, upon meeting Molly, has major internal fear because Kingsley was one of the crew mates that got involved with the bloodsails

Eberron au Risian tiefling Molly actively making things colder around him just by existing

Beau hands him her drinks so he can make them cold

Molly cracking ice off his horns to give to people when they need to cool down

Random very cold hands on people during quiet moments. Molly's gotten punched by Beau more than once because of this. Fjord always thinks it's funny until it happens to him

When they're in hotter environments, the Nein just unconsciously scoot closer to him bc he just sucks the heat out of the air

Jester asking Caleb if kissing him is weird because he's so cold ( "is it like kissing a corpse??? has your tongue ever gotten stuck to his teeth like a metal pole in winter????" ). Caleb never answers.

It's also a fun detail that both Lucien (and after Lucy dies, Molly) and Kingsley in this au are Risian tieflings so they've got ice coated horns and tails and whatnot

Kingsley becoming a vampire-pirate changes very little about him, appearance wise

Kingsley, existing in this au not as a part of Lucien and Molly but as Lucien's younger twin brother, both of them raised in a culture where necromancy was just a daily part of life, joining a crew of pirates that winds up allying with the same religious organization from his home area, being offered a chance to become a vampire and join the more intense version of that same religion for more power: oh boy!

anyway I have a lot of worldbuilding for my m9 Eberron au despite having barely a chapter actually written but the plus side to that is that I can talk about nearly any aspect of it and if it intrigues you please feel free to ask about any part of it

and by that I mean please ask me about it because I'll probably never get to actually write it unless I somehow get a miracle and get a better paying job that I don't have to be at for nearly ten hours a day

Also one day I really want to expand on my Eberron au for the m9 because I love the concept of blood hunters in Eberron not using blood to fuel their magic but pieces of their soul which just sounds like so much fun to explore with Molly

Anyway the concept of blood hunters in Eberron ( night hunters? ) using not their blood but parts of their soul is so compelling to me in the context of making a m9 Eberron au. Molly not understanding where he has his weird magic from. Every time he uses it he feels little more of Lucien peeking though his mind, urging him to seek out the Blood of Vol because they accept undead and you're undead, Mollymauk, the Church of the Silver Flame is only tolerating you, why not go meet people who will celebrate the fact that you're alive in death.
