“Oh, Merlin, tell me, does THE ROUGE PRINCESS get what she deserves?” She is NEUTRAL & CLOSED to finding out.
— she walks through the world as;
name → claudette tremblay née delacour pronouns → she/her identification → cis female year of birth → september 1954 - september 1955 face claim → vanessa kirby blood status → pure-blood sexual orientation → bisexual occupation → private investigator at a brief case in carkitt market future information → n/a
— she is best described as ;
As POISED as a ballerina on point, she is the DASHED FREEDOM of a pegasus, who longs for LIBERTY but who is doomed to fail with clipped wings. HEADSTRONG, while she dons champagne crystals and delicate heels, her lack of materialistic desires leaves her as RADIANT as the SUN chasing the night. Grounded in reality, while their WIT is captivating, they are as BEAUTIFUL as the gartered KNIFE at their thigh; silent in DISCIPLINED DEFIANCE.
— her story starts with ;
tw: death
Born amongst purist rhetoric with her three siblings, LYNETTE DELACOUR [sister], DOMINIQUE DELACOUR [brother] and AIMEE DELACOUR [sister], they lavished in the allure of the French aristocracy as idealistic as a fairytale; but for her it was a mere inconvenience. Tedious were the restrictions that came with being a family deemed royalty, which she had no mind of following. Abandoning etiquette lessons in favor of exploration with partner in crime GABRIEL DUMONT [best friend]; despite her mother’s efforts, her heart was boisterous with a lust of life that was difficult to quench. Hiding among muggles, Claude found herself encapsulated by them. Riveting conversations with a sense of normality filled the simplicity she craved that was lacking in their manor. After her uncle disgraced the family and ran off with his harlot; her father stepped up as the sole male heir. The line passed to a man who never wanted to be seen high, though his love for his family outweighed any of his desires. Out of any, Claudette was most like her father. The last thing she wished, was to disappoint her family like her uncle had. While she longed for normality; she knew it was merely a fantasy. Instead she bit her tongue, stood straighter and smiled, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t throw in a quick witted remark to put even the most pompous of noble sorcerers in their place.
With Beauxbatons, came escapism, freedom and life. Corralled by RAPHAEL FRANCOIS [close friend] and Gabriel, they dueled until sunset and acted as each other’s wingmen. While many of the girls spent their days gushing over romance, beauty potions and braided hair like her sister Lynette, Claude saw no interest; instead she sought liberty and her own voice. Bolstering the determination to stand up for others against the likes of ALEXANDRA ROSIER [rival] and her entourage, Claude made friends in unexpected places; particularly in Muggle-Born JACQUELINE LEJEUNE [best friend]. While her oldest sister sought to be friends with the ‘right people’, Claude made genuine friendships to last a lifetime. Possessing a politically inclined mind, summers brought time with her father at learning the intricacy of his work at the ministry. Leading to her quick decision to study to become an Auror much to her mother’s dismay. She excelled in her studies, although she was often in trouble for her quick wit and prejudiced demeanor; she was an excellent student. Acquiring a job as an Auror within the Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France after graduation; she’d found a profession she loved and a witch in whom to hold her affection.
EVANGELINE SELWYN [former partner/potential love interest], was someone that Claudette never expected. A summer whirlwind romance the pair quickly fell deeply for one another. Encapsulated in each other’s arms, the problems of the world seemed to evaporate at the simple brush of a hand. Despite having to hide their relationship from Claudette’s family, the pair were passionately connected. Summer turned to years. Having met at twenty two, after four years together it felt as though nothing could pull them apart. Unfortunately fate had other plans with Claudette’s mother orchestrating an arranged marriage to pure-blood ALEXANDER TREMBLAY [husband/potential love interest]. Outraged, having sacrificed her freedom for so many years, her heart was non-negotiable. Desiring to love freely, she refused. Unbeknownst to anyone, she was planning to propose to Evageline. Visiting home one last time to share news with her siblings, her plans of a quick escape were rifled. With her mother discovering her intentions, she trapped her in her room; adamant that she couldn’t stand idle and let her ruin the family for a ‘wishful fantasy’. Charmed locks, no wand and no means of escape. Despite efforts to contact Eva, it was too late. With word from Gabriel that she’d left back to England heartbroken thinking Claudette had changed her mind.
With the love of her life gone, Claudette caved. Accepting Xander’s hand, having spent little time with her ‘beloved’, a day that many dreamed of was one she was dreading. Holding him guilty for her unhappiness she became cold and aloof. Transferring across seas with rumors of war encapsulating London, she disguised the move as playing ‘happy fiance’. Knowing her heart was really set on protecting one particular witch no matter the cost. While she had prepared herself for chaos, it was unlike anything she’d experienced. With the murder of BOOKER BAGNOLD [person of interest] and the rise in creature attacks, The Ministry was scrabbling to hold onto control in a society struck with chaos. Investigations only led to empty leads and convenient evidence that the Ministry blindly agreed to to fit their own narrative. Political warfare on the wise, any claims against what those in power wished were dismissed. However their silence shattered with the solstice of summer 1983 tearing the community to shreds. Fighting against masked figures who claimed to be ‘Death Eaters’, the witch had been helping civilians to safety one moment before a blow to the head turned everything black. Awaking only to be found in handcuffs for the murder of AMELIA BONES [close friend/former romantic liaison].
Detained and awaiting trial for a crime she didn’t commit, with the invasion of her mind it was proved Claudette’s innocence and that the guilty was under the influence of Polyjuice potion. Despite The Ministry’s statement, the hate spiraled towards her was maddening. Returning from Italy, Alexander became her saving grace. Averting the tabloids eager for a statement from the ‘killer’, his valiant protection eased her. For the first time she saw him as a person and not a pawn in her parents' schemes. Hidden in the Tremblay house, the witch was confined for her own safety. Leaving only under the disguise of beauty potions at the cusp of night. With the world unstable, her constant became Xander. His support, especially after being fired for ‘appearance sake’, kept her steady. While proud, it was against her better judgment that she let herself fall. And just like he had her, when MASON TREMBLAY [rival/brother in law] was found guilty for Amelia’s murder it was Claude that held him strong. Xander believed in their union, promising that in time their love would grow. Hopeful, they married privately as a commitment to each other outside of their families. Despite reservations, she didn’t feel obligated to his hand like she’d once did. She’d chosen him. Not out of sacrifice to her heart, but because of it.
Going out on her own to investigate cases piling desks high, while ANNABETH PEBWORTH [former colleaguer/friend] warned her against it with the danger rising, it isn’t in her nature to stay on the side lines. That was until PRUDENCE OWENS [friend/colleague] approached with a card and an offer of a new place of residence. A Brief Case was filled with ex-aurors and those thrown out by the system were a breath of fresh air. Their bite for the truth filled Claudette with pride as they helped those the ministry ignored. While her work has her reluctantly investigating PERSEPHONE WILKES’ [acquaintance] distrusting claims against GENEVIEVE AVERY-WILKES [person of interest] she can’t help but be more captivated by her own personal investigations. Gathering memories of civilians from the night of the solstice, Claudette is trying to identify suspected Death Eaters; and who framed her. Those eager to forget give theirs gladly, but with the rising turbulence honesty is something lacking. Attempting to gain the trust of socialites LUCRETIA FAWLEY [person of interest] and VERUCCA BUCKTHORN-SNYDE [person of interest], Claude hopes their memories could be the missing piece she needs. However with their alliances unknown, can she afford to put herself on the line if it leads to more false trails?
— she is a LEVEL 8 WITCH & readied for war ;

Please welcome D. Alexander Ward to Roadie Notes……
1. How old were you when you first wrote your first story? I was the tender age of twelve or thirteen, I think, when I wrote “The Thing in the Fog.” Thankfully, that little gem never saw the light of day.
2. How many books have you written? Two novels and one novella published. One completed novel (Nightjar) in the editing stage and one completed trunk novel I may someday try to make viable. So that’d be five. I’ve also co-edited two books with Doug Murano: Gutted: Beautiful Horror Stories and Shadows Over Main Street.
3. Anything you won’t write about? There are things I probably shy away from unconsciously—like sexual abuse—but if it’s important to the plot or the character, nothing is off the table as long as I handle it in an appropriate manner.
4. Tell me about you. Age (if you don’t mind answering), married, kids, do you have another job etc... I’m forty-two years old, married just over ten years, with one child—a daughter—who is in elementary school. I am a partner in a technology business where I also work full-time as an operations manager.
5. What’s your favorite book you have written? I like them all for different reasons but I’m historically a sucker for haunted houses and haunted people so I’d have to say my most recent book, Beneath Ash & Bone. And the reason is that when I was working the idea of it, I kind of had this aesthetic in my mind, you know? Like a full-sensory vision of what I wanted it to be. And for the most part, its final form is just as I envisioned it. I do that with everything I write but some come closer to the vision than others.
6. Who or what inspired you to write? I always enjoyed a good story in whatever form it took and after a steady diet of Poe and Lovecraft and King at a young age, I decided I’d like to try my hand at it. Then I kind of fell out of it for many years. Caitlin R. Kiernan’s Threshold and Joe Hill’s Heart-Shaped Box brought me back to dark fiction, though, and inspired me to finally get serious about writing it.
7. What do you like to do for fun? Other than reading and hanging out with my family, I get a lot of enjoyment out of music—listening to it as well as making it. I also cook a lot, so that’s something else I’m passionate about.
8. Any traditions you do when you finish a book? Get blackout drunk and howl at the moon? Well, maybe that has happened, but not every time. In truth, I will spend about a day or two wondering if I am really done or not, then I’ll walk away from it for a week or two. Then I come back to it and begin editing. That’s my tradition. And I’m not sure that, for me, the editing process is ever truly finished—even if it’s only in my head.
9. Where do you write? Quiet or music? I like writing outside whenever possible. I have a specific spot on the back deck at the edge of the woods. Either there or my writing cave in my house.As far as quiet or music, either works for me but I do assemble playlists that capture the mood of certain projects as I am working on them, so I use music more often than not.
10. Anything you would change about your writing? I’d be faster, leaner, and more precise in my prose. But that comes with time, if it comes at all. I’d also have a better Good Idea vs. Dumb Idea filter to save time.
11. What is your dream? Famous writer? Well, as a teenager, sure it was. Who wouldn’t want to be circa 1980’s and 90’s Stephen King? But now, I just want to publish as widely as possible and make a bit of money doing it. I think the dream now is to produce quality work that more and more people will read.
12. Where do you live? I live in central Virginia, outside the city of Richmond. Used to be farms and woods were the defining characteristics of the landscape out here rather than yet another sandwich shop chain or another super grocery or whatever the hell. I sound bitter, don’t I? Well, maybe a little.
13. Pets? Two cats (one black, one orange) named Mulder and Scully. I badly need another dog in my life, though.
14. What’s your favorite thing about writing? I really enjoy writing a novel synopsis! No, I’m kidding. Those are horrendous. What I do like is the rush you get when something just clicks… and keeps on clicking. Another is the catharsis you experience when you really scrape at your insides to get something out and onto the page, because if you’re putting a lot of your self into it, it can be frightening at times. Editing can be tedious but that really is where you have the chance make a rough-hewn thing beautiful and seeing that final product is very gratifying.
15. What is coming next for you? I’m figuring out what the next novel project will be and I have a few smaller things in the hopper as well. Doug Murano and I are finishing up edits on Shadows Over Main Street Volume 2, which comes out later this year. And I am also working on editing an anthology project that will drop in 2018… that I can’t talk about just yet.
A special sample of D. Alexander Ward:
  Beneath Ash & Bone, Synopsis
Selburn, Virginia: A quiet backwater town nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains. In the days before the Civil War, Sam Lock keeps the peace as the town sheriff, like his father before him.
That peace is shattered during a raging winter storm when a boy goes missing at Evermore, the sprawling estate of Horace Crownhill and his family. Racing against time and the elements, Sam must mount a desperate search for the child—but what he finds in the snow, and the dark halls of Evermore, are madness … and murder.
As Sam searches for truth in a house poisoned by mysteries and haunted by ghosts, he hopes to weather the storm, but the harrowing secrets he uncovers may prove too terrible to bear. Will he escape with his sanity intact or will the dark presence rumored to hold sway over Evermore claim him as another sacrifice? Blood Savages (A Blackguards Novel #1), Synopsis A failed paramilitary assault on a nest of vampires gives a group of monster hunters called the Blackguards a terrifying glimpse of how deadly the bloodsuckers really are. Now, hunted by the ones they failed to kill and on the run from the law, they’re forced to puzzle together the mystery of a strange carcass from colonial times that their ruthless billionaire nemesis will stop at nothing to possess.
With one of their own bitten and mutating into a deadly creature of the night, they race against time as they travel the back roads of the Carolinas in a desperate attempt to save her life. But their journey toward salvation will lead to darker places than they ever could have imagined.
Blood Savages is the first novel in the Blackguards series about a misfit band of Southern heroes with extraordinary abilities. But these ain’t your high-browed superheroes flying invisible jet planes, living in fancy mansions, and sporting glittery spandex getups. The Blackguards drink too much, they tote guns, they drive muscle cars and beat-up trucks. None of them can claim a squeaky clean past and some ain’t even exactly human. But one thing’s for certain; they’ll stand against the denizens of the underworld and the corrupt men that seek to harness its dark powers, fighting the battles that no one else can.
Because, down South, sometimes the heroes are the monsters. Shadows Over Main Street, Synopsis
What happens when idyllic small-towns, and the simple folk who inhabit them, collide with inexplicable evil borne of a vast and uncaring cosmos?
Imagine a series of stories set in a golden era of American life, where worldly troubles are regarded from a distance, if at all. Hear the buzz of playing cards clipped in children’s spokes echo down quiet lanes. Smell the faint aroma of rich tobacco smoke from an old man’s pipe on a shady boulevard. Listen to the gossip of small towns where everyone knows everyone’s business. Or do they?
Sometimes, deadly secrets lurk out in the barn. Sometimes, unimaginable evil awaits us in the root cellar. Sometimes, we fall under the sway of the Shadows Over Main Street.

“Oh, Merlin, tell me, does THE FALLEN PRINCE get what he deserves?” He is in the NEUTRAL & CLOSED to finding out.
— he walks through the world as ;
name → alexander tremblay pronouns → he/him identification → cis male year of birth → september 1951 - september 1952 face claim → richard madden blood status → pure-blood (metaphoragus) sexual orientation → sexually fluid occupation → owner of gladrags wizardwear future information → n/a
— he is best described as ;
Raised on a statue of GOLD, he is the welcoming of the SALTY SEA AIR, FRESH and LIBERATING in its ALLURING SENSIBILITY able to tantalize even the most stubborn madden to its shores.  Fraught with FAMILY TRAGEDY, though believed CURSED by HAGS for his FLIPPANT love affairs; his DESIRE to hold TRUTH and NOBILITY conquers even his FLEETING displays of dashed freedom. Leaving hopes for a life of LAVISH FRIVOLITY and SIREN LIPS to the depths of the seas which still sing in his eyes.
— his story starts with ;
tw: death
Born to French man Lucas Tremblay and Italian woman Isabella Tremblay, with crystal waves crashing against Italian stone, Xander grew with a silver spoon in one hand and the political scripture of his ancestors in the other. Pure-bloods with an accomplished history and relatives of the sacred twenty-eight; their morals were not always as liberal as some perceived. While their children basked in adoration from all, their parents were more selective with the people that occupied their time. Wrapped in fine silks with sun kissed skin, the Tremblay’s were royalty amongst the elite. Marble statues with rose bush mazes, it was an idyllic place for a stolen first kiss and for a young wizard to fall in love. But Xander’s first love wasn’t the beautiful wix that paraded around him at balls. The sun warming his skin and the wind pelting his face was where his soul soared. With their personal boat charmed to sail and submerge when willed, while the surface world was filled with wonder the underwater realm held more marvel than any of the stories he devoured. Towering cities with sirens shimmering in his blue hues; it sparked a never-ending love affair with the sea as he sought to find thrills befit the sailors' tales his grandfather told.
Known amongst the harbors for lustrous love affairs, piercing eyes and winning smiles, the Tremblay brothers were the heartthrobs of Italian society. With their name on every wix’s lips, finding companionship wasn’t a difficult task; it was warning off heartbroken maidens after an inevitable ‘mistake’ where their charms truly shined. MASON TREMBLAY’S [sibling] witty charisma eased any tense situation, but if all else failed Xander was always on standby to shock with a transformed shark in the waters to leave even the most profound wix baffled enough for a timely escape. Though as Beauxbatons encapsulated them and time past, Mason turned reclusive and sharp whenever Xander wished to spend time with his beloved brother. An unexpected turn of character that left him whimless and confused. And with his travel partner occupied with whatever he wasn’t telling him, newly graduated with decent grades but more friendships and ex-partners than he could count, Xander packed up his belongings and took their dreams of traveling Europe alone. He knew his inevitable fate with his family's continuous reminders, but until he had to face that day he’d spend it lavishly for when time came regret would never be something he harbored.
Illustrious thrills, liquor laced lips danced with others as he traveled from Spain, to France, to the UK levitating in red wine and gallivanting through the night. With a wisp of white in his curls and piercing eyes that turned violet, it was difficult for anyone not to fall for Xander’s beauty and charm. That was until he met him. If Xander was the lightning in a storm, captivity and striking OSIRIS SNYDE [former partner/potential love interest] was the crackle of unexpected thunder. Dark and ominous, despite his guarded nature; with every meeting Xander unraveled a new piece of him like he was reading a beloved book with weathered edges. Enthralled with one another, while Xander had promised himself he wouldn’t become romantically attached, he cared too much. Even if Osiris in his mind's eye, cared too little. But after endless fleeting moments with wix he barely knew, companionship despite its imperfection eased him. He dreamed of love even if choice was not something he possessed. Still a part of him couldn’t help but fantasize Osiris by his side. Until the mention of it left him fleeing with not even a whisper of goodbye.
Told of his future bride, tales of her beauty and intellect captured his heart. It seemed too good to be true, that was until he met her; CLAUDETTE TREMBLAY [wife/potential love interest]. Prejudice with a mind as sharp as a knife; her poignant and aloof nature left him disarmed. Unfazed by his charm, she blamed him for her doomed unhappiness. Taken aback by someone not falling privy to him, it was a breath of fresh air even if it wasn’t pleasant. While Claude’s distaste formed a ‘challenge’, Xander had grown idealizing his parents as they grew in love with age. There was no doubt in his mind that his match could hold equal happiness. However adamant advances for Claude’s hand would have to wait with the sudden and untimely deaths of Lucas and Isabella. His constant, without them the world concaved. Returning to Italy to finalize his fathers estate, to everyone’s dismay it was left in its entirety to him; with Mason getting not a knut. Pained at his fathers dismissal, Mason sulked but to Xander’s surprise he wasn’t shocked. While he wanted to split the inheritance, it was written in fine line in the will and testament that if done so, they would both lose everything. Reluctantly following his father, he watched helplessly as his brother slipped into the shadows. Despite his offerings of help, Mason was too proud to accept.
Endless parchments filled his fathers desk. With ink stained cuffs, no matter how many bills he paid another fell in its place. A once grand estate with exuberant wealth, Xander found their resources were more limited than his father led them to believe. With a string of unpaid gambling bets, he became solely reliant on a company Lucas won in a bet: Gladrags. But trying to rationalize with the artistic director JOSEPHINE DU GLAD [employee/potential love interest] was another feat in itself. A wild woman of colorful vests adorning whimsical caricatures; controlling her was like trying to control a summer breeze. Rolling the dice, Xander began to have a hand in every aspect of the empire. That was until he saw news of his fiance’s arrest in The Daily Prophet without receiving an owl. Exasperated from being left in the dark, he returned to London for answers; despite her lowering gaze he still cared for her. Guarding her from the press who lurched like vultures for photographs, he brewed beauty potions to mask act as disguises and cared for Claudette when the world had turned its back on her. To his surprise, he saw a change in her. Warmth in her smile, a kind touch and finally he started to think that their union could be filled with everything he’d once wished. Hopeful for their future, they married at midnight in private.
Relentless, what had been a joyful evening turned suffocating with the guilty charge against his brother. Accused of killing AMELIA BONES [person of interest] he was sentenced to life in Azkaban never to be seen again. Heart broken with torn expectations of reality, Xander is trying to save the Tremblay's reputation since Mason’s timely imprisonment under the luring eyes of RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE [second cousin] and RABASTAN LESTRANGE [second cousin]. Betrayed by his brother, with the shocking news of his werewolf status, Xander is finding that not everything in his family’s past is as it seems. Hiring investigator and old friend GAWAIN ROBARDS [friend/employee] to look into the allegations against his family, every passing week uncurls a new piece of information that he wished was left undiscovered. Finding that his parents both engaged in love affairs outside of their marriage, it has left Xander questioning his family name, the lessons they taught him and even the woman they chose for him to marry. But as Gawain uncovers letters shared between his father and a mysterious figure penned under TOM RIDDLE [person of interest], he fears he’s only touched the surface of his family's unmarked skeletons.
— he is a LEVEL 4 WIZARD  & LEVEL 5 METAMORPHMAGUS readied for war ;
