Your Season Two Newsreader TV Week Scans!

Throughout the entirety of The Newsreader’s S2, I collected the TV Week for each of the six episodes and weeks. There’s something seriously special about collecting physical media for this show, I feel as though it honours the period the show is set in and how things were in that 1980s era. I have been sharing these on my Twitter and in the Discord for the show too, but I thought I’d pop them all on Tumblr too for easy accessibility. These are all scans of my actual magazines which I have taken the time to physically scan, edit and put together. As a result, please respect the watermarking on it and do not try to pass these off as your own. This also includes cropping certain sections out, like side panels or smaller interviews. The Newsreader's S2 Episode Four and Five Synopses have been shared!

As we get closer to the conclusion of our so far awesome second season, we're learning about two more episodes!

I am also very excited for the addition of Lynus Preston and how the show will be exploring the truths behind the concept of the Bicentennial, how it marked 200 years of colonisation in Australia and what this meant to the Indigenous community here. It honestly brings me great joy to see Geoff being manhandled by protestors too in the promo clip! 😂 It will be really interesting to see Dale putting together royal puff pieces alongside Helen's drive to get Lynus on telly, as a way of making sure that Helen can do this. I'm having a feeling we're all about to fall in love with Lynus and it is brilliant to welcome him to The Newsreader family! What a formidable season this will be! 🥰💖📺🌟

The fifth episode, oh goodness it is touching my heart. Just from the title alone I had suspicions that it would be a female-centric episode, hopefully focusing on Helen and Noelene, and I was right! Not only that, we're getting to hear from Kay and her heartbreaking story. I've already got a soft spot for this woman as I can just see something troubled behind her eyes. Seeing Helen and Noelene work properly together as a team and how they'll be affected by Kay's story is honestly a dream come true. In the 80s, Prime Minister Bob Hawke's daughter Rosslyn had some very public struggles with her own heroin addiction that caused him to have a public breakdown, so there are some very interesting historical parallels here too. What effect will this have on Geoff and Evelyn? This episode is going to air in my birthday week so happy birthday to me!

Today I found out Lynus Preston is the name of a Vivziepop character and like. I’m used to Newsreader characters sharing their names with other people, like my ultimate blorbo shares his name with a Northern Irish politician and I feel like I always have to specify “no I’m not making thirstposts about Gerry Carroll from the People Over Profit party, I’m talking about another guy” but like this is honestly offensive to me like he deserves better than sharing his name with White Twink With Pointy Teeth #4787636
