(ok maybe he went a little overboard on the glitter — BUT! when she opens it, it’ll look like a little rain (snow?) shower so it’s OK, right!!) on the front, BREAKING NEWS! on the INSIDE, a hand - painted grinning sun on the left, a cotton ball cloud (and GLITTER) on the right. underneath, YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE, VALENTINE!!! ( LOVE, SPONGEBOB 💛 )

She doesn’t mind about the glitter - how could she, when the reason her hands are covered in it has made her smile so much? Still careful not to disrupt either of their respective gifts, she pulls him into another hug. “Y’know, I think you might be the sweetest valentine I’ll ever have.”

he’s holding out a little glass bottle — one you could put powder in. IN FACT, that’s exactly what’s in it! a little blue powder, sparkly and pretty, and a little hot pink powder swirl from bottom to top. it has a little tag tied onto the neck, and the powder is up to where the cork ends. the tag reads: I PUT A SPELL ON YOU! ‘ it’s like the sugar you’d get in pixie sticks!!! i have a bunch more too, but i’m running out of things to write on the tags!! SO — HAPPY VALENTINES! ‘

         ❛ oh my god, this is so cute! ❜ her smile takes up her entire face ( it still doesn’t compete with his, but she doesn’t think anyone’s smile is as bright as her friend’s ) and she gently takes the bottle into her hands. a giggle escapes her when she reads the label, and she pulls him into a hug, reaching up to ruffle his hair with her free hand.

“Well, that depends how good you are at paintin’, don’t it? But then, life’s too short to worry about spoilin’ a ukulele with a bad picture. Sure you’ll do fine. Now to answer your question, kid, your eyes lit up when you said bubbles, so I think you found your answer.” A beat, and then: “OR, you paint all of ‘em.”

And then she’s holding out a tupperware box - tied with a red ribbon, to emphasise the point - which is full to the point of bursting with homemade, heart-shaped cookies.
