To address the topic seriously, Ezrah isn’t a normal older brother to start with. He faced parentification at a young age in the wake of their mom refusing to care for MC.
Ezrah is all MC has had their entire lives, and MC is all Ezrah has, too. Ezrah has basically turned his back on his mother for how she treated his sibling and gone no contact. He reads her letters but never responds and encourages the MC to not feel guilted or coerced into a relationship with her after everything.
