Some Chapter 84 Thoughts:

(some thoughts cross posted from Twitter which I hate doing but I really want to use Tumblr more)

This arc in general is shaping up to be one of my favorites, which is saying a lot considering it's been largely Yor-less and Anya-less so far.

So Wheeler gets away, bc WISE spent too much money on a castle rental fee and now they can't afford real handcuffs:

He also joins the ranks of one of Nightfall's simps that seem to include everyone *except* Twilight

For a Loid centric arc, we haven't gotten to see his pretty face that much thanks to his disguises, but he looks good here especially considering his condition.

We don't see the fight between him and Wheeler, but based on Wheeler's face, it wasn't an easy one. I was fairly annoyed by seeing reddit takes saying how this shows Loid is incompetent at combat, which is absurd, considering he was one-armed in this fight and still managed to injure Wheeler who supposedly rivals his talents (and arms).

As I've mentioned before, I have a bit of a soft spot for Nightfall. We see her showing emotion on her face for the first time ever, and I think Wheeler will pick up on it, and try to use it to his advantage.

I've always wondered if Nightfall would end up d*ing for Twilight in the vein of Eponine from Les Miserables. Given that she fantasized about it in this chapter though, I feel like it's becoming less likely. I actually think she will win against Wheeler here, but it won't be pretty. Wheeler is stronger and has Twilight to use as leverage, but Nightfall has a g*n and a much stronger motive. I can see her getting injured, but I do think she (possibly with the help of the last bits of Twilight's strength) will win.

I struggle to see story-wise how Wheeler can escape once he sees Twilight's face. (Of course, there's the possibility that he rips Yuri's mask off to find a Wheeler mask underneath it, but given Nightfall's reaction, I think Twilight's face has been revealed. Which, thank God, I want to see his face more!!!)

Future predictions: I think Yuri may discover Loid's injuries and start heavily suspecting him. Anya is going to discover ALL of this and maybe try to use her powers to throw Yuri off? Not sure but it's a good thing Anya is such a resilient kid, because this is gonna be a LOT of trauma for her to discover. ❤️
