Tales From Pixie Hollow Is Out

Despite some ardent campaigning for these books, Tales from Pixie Hollow is out of the running for best childhood book. But fret not, below are some ways to get into the series and fandom!

For those who don't know, before the Disney movie Tinkerbell came out, they hired Gail Carson Levine, beloved children's author, to write a few books as promotion for the movies. She wrote the Disney Fairies Trilogy which include Tinker Bell but are mostly about Prilla, a Never fairy who doesn't know her talent. When the movies came out, Disney continued in this vein by releasing shorter books known as Tales from Pixie Hollow that followed a single fairy's day-to-day challenges. The characters from the movies, Silvermist, Iridessa, Fawn, Rosetta, and Vidia, all make appearances, but other amazing characters were introduced like Rani, Dulcie, Fira, Bess, and Beck. If you like lighthearted, slice-of-life fiction, beautiful illustrations, and fairies, you should give them a go!

The People & City of MAGIX in my Winx Club AU Fanfic

In my version of the Winx Club story, the city of MAGIX (and the planet it’ on) is the centre of the magic dimension. That is why all the Realms best Magic Schools are there. In the original, technology and magic work in harmony in the city. I like this motif but I also like the idea of the city of MAGIX being the most ‘Earth Style’ fairytale like place in the universe and most of the people there are fairies or at least magical beings. People wear clothes inspired by nature or actually made out of nature like these lovely ladies from a beautiful artist’s @littlemissviart blog I came across!

They live there to have lives surrounded by magic and the pursuit of deeper magical knowledge. Their lives are fuelled by modern magic, not electricity and technology. Many professors live there and there is a large community of stores and restaurants that cater to the students. Older students from the schools will rent rooms in townhouses in the city after their first years at Alfea, Cloud Tower, or Red Fountain School for Magicians. Lots of students get jobs here to pay for tuition and go on internships or apprenticeships.

Some of the worlds most groundbreaking spells were invented here. There are sections of the city that are inhabited by certain magical folks like The Witches Court, the Fairies Courts... etc. This is where you can buy certain ingredients spell ingredients and find spell books so you don’t have to take them out of the school library. It’s also a place to find like minded people. They even have their own police force that keeps everything in line since MAGIX is the brain of the magical dimension and must be protected.

Cerise Hood is our next rebel in the lineup! Athletic and fast she’s always up for a challenge. She may have a rough exterior to hide her family secret…but once you really get to know her she’s loyal until the end.

Our next rebel is the clever and honest Cedar! Cedar is always happy to lend a hand to her friends in need. She may be cursed to never lie, but Cedar’s true heart and honesty brings out the best in everyone around her.

And that’s a wrap up for Fairytale February! Thank you all so much for following along! It was so much fun to take some of my favorite designs and redraw them in my own style! Perhaps next year I’ll continue the story!

To end this Fairytale February are twins Poppy and Holly! Poppy is a talented hair stylist and is trying to find her own path. Even if she is a rebel and very different from her sister she cares deeply about Holly. She’s leaping out of the tower and finding out who she is…one hair style at a time!

One of my goals this year is to redo old designs in my updated style! I always loved the Sharky series so I had to start there!

The royal counterpart to Raven Queen is next on our lineup! Apple White is known for her kind nature which she uses to lead with grace. Apple may not agree with Raven’s decisions…but she cares deeply for everyone regardless if they’re a royal or rebel.

As someone who loves the Snow White aesthetic I simply adore Apple’s design! She starts off being stuck in tradition but slowly grows and learns throughout the series!

As a Royal, Holly takes her role as future Rapunzel very seriously. She adores and supports her Rebel sister Poppy as she finds her own story. Like a good big sister, Holly listens and gives great advice to her twin. Plus it’s great to have a sister help with your tower of hair!

Next in our lineup is Maddie Hatter! A resident of Wonderland and a true friend, Maddie isn’t afraid to be who she is! She is always there to bring the fun and laughter wherever she goes…as long as there’s time for tea!

It’s Fairytale February! We’re starting with Raven Queen, a girl who can’t be tied down by destiny. Raven may be the daughter of the evil queen, but she is loyal and brave and always does what she thinks is right. Her destiny is in her own magical hands!

Princess Peach and Stella dazzle the stage in these cute patterns! I’m so in love with this feature I can’t wait to see all the cute designs that’ll be available when the game comes out! Which is your favorite?
