The way the letter chapters are sequenced drives me insane okay like. We get Hannah’s chapter second where the few times she appeared in the first she came off as kinda snotty. But then we see that she’s really a good person in a complex situation and a husband who’s unfaithful and acts like a child. But she finds genuine happiness and comfort for the first time in ages with Zach, some guy that comes to interview her and they have some flirting in there and it seems Hannah is really into him. Then we have Zach’s chapter where he talks fondly of Hannah but you see that Luke is also really fucking shitty to him and he suspects Zach is trying to steal his wife. AND RIGHT WHEN YOURE ALREADY SO INVESTED IN THOSE TWO YOU GET SLAMMED WITH THE MARIANNE CHAPTER WHERE SHE ALSO HAS FEELINGS FOR HANNAH AND IS AROUND HER ALL DAY SLOWLY GIVING HER ADVICE THAT COULD LEAD TO HANNAH LEAVING HER HUSBAND
