honestly my real opinion on ai is not even from an ethical standpoint. my opinion on ai is that because it isn't actually artificial intelligence that is a misnomer it's not intelligent and it doesn't think it is therefore just plain not good at most of what we're currently using it for outside of like hyperspecific applications that i know nothing about and never will. it simply can't do the job man.

#jack facts #and this isn't an argument about what constitutes ''real'' art either it's about technical skill #the ability to self correct; improve; make requested changes; do something that hasn't already been done before or do it in a new way; etc #it just. it can't do it. it can't do the job.#and like laymen using it to make fanart or oc art or whatever like i don't really care that much #like i absolutely think you're tacky and a big whiner and i don't respect you but i don't think you're A Bad Person #unless you're dishonest about it and trying to pass off ai as self-made in which case you're the same as someone who reposts imo #but like as far as like industry ai. like the ethics of usage are complicated but i honestly don't care because the stuff is garbage anyway #whether it's ''art'' or not it will never be skillful and it will never innovate. it is low quality and it is boring.#it can't not be low quality and boring. skilled and interesting are literally beyond its parameters that's just the facts.#so truly there is absolutely no point in using it for anything that requires skill or interest.#or like. representing concepts. expressing an idea etc. those things can't be replicated only shapes/color/letters can.#which is honestly part of the reason why i don't even have any interest in caring more about the ethical aspect #it's not going to last for very long because it doesn't work. it just doesn't work! it can't do that!#anyway.#reading process #writing process #soc
