“I just failed so badly in trying to explain aerodynamics! They asked me about the aerodynamics and I was trying to explain and I realised I'm really not an aerodynamicist!"

“It was a good race, the guys were saying that anywhere between 6th and 4th was possible, that always felt like a stretch for me. But, I had fun, I struggled in the begging with the car heavier and the tyres, behind everyone trying to avoid collision at the first corner and ended up stuck behind the Alpha Tauri once again. But, I’m really really grateful to have made a way through and made those points.
On the SC ending - “I think at the end the two cars behind had fresher tyres so, kinda glad it finished the way it did.
On first corner damage - “I don’t remember having any contact [at the start], I avoided collision, but there was something definitely damaged, I think I hit a bit of debris and damaged the little fairing over the tyre. It didn’t feel that great, it was flapping around so… I don’t even know what those things are called. Waste of space”

“It was an okay session, it wasn’t my best session. I think in Zandvoort it was pretty good. I think today, naturally we’re off the pace, but 5th was the best that I could do. I’m losing like 2 tenths in the last sector so, ultimately as a competitor I need to figure out those couple of corners but, nonetheless I’m generally happy with it. I didn’t mess up too much, I had one mistake I think in Q2 but rectified that.”
“I think we were expecting [this gap] because we saw this in Spa. With the lowest of wing downforce level, that’s where we seem to be particularly worse than the others, when we go to a circuit like Budapest which is maximum downforce.”
