Cowboys Mock Draft
To all the Cowboys fans,
In the last blog, I mentioned 5 draft prospects that the Cowboys can target at #24. I mentioned Drake London, Tyler Linderbaum, Kenyon Green, Zion Johnson, and Jermaine Johnson. These would be amazing picks all at #24 overall. In this week’s blog, I will be doing a 4 round mock draft. I will be doing the mock draft with Pro Football Network simulator.
With the #24 pick in the 1st round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select … Zion Johnson, Offense of Guard out of Boston College. With this mock draft, Drake London went #22 to the Green Bay Packers and Kenyon Green went to the Baltimore Ravens at #23 due to a trade with the Arizona Cardinals. There was trade request from other teams but decided to stay at #24 and secure our starting guard for years to come. Zion Johnson is going to be a beast moving defenders and clearing paths for Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard and protecting Dak Prescott at all costs.

With the 56th overall pick in the Second Round of 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys Select… Skyy Moore, Wide Receiver out of Western Michigan. In round two, George Pickens, and Jahan Dotson went off the board before the Dallas Cowboys can choose at #56. With them gone, it made it really easy to choose the next receiver for the Cowboys with trade of Amari Cooper and the departure of Cedric Wilson to the Dolphins. Skyy Moore can shake off defenders at the line of scrimmage and has the ability to lose them with his great route running skills. He does not have that quick high-end speed but he can sure make defenders look like fools when trying to tackle him down.
Tumblr media
With the 88th pick in the Third Round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select… Sam Williams, Defense of End out of Ole Miss.  With players like Troy Andersen, Logan Hall, and Leo Chenal selected before the Cowboys pick, it was obvious where I was headed with this pick. He has the athleticism to imitate what Micah Parsons did last season. He is very explosive and fast out of the line. He has that motor to chase down the ball carrier and not give up. The only thing I saw that might affect him a little bit is his stiffness in the hips but besides that, Dan Quinn is going to get another monster on the defense of side of the ball.

With the 129th pick in the Fourth Round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select… Jelani Woods, Tight End out of Virginia. With players like Cade Otton, Channing Tindall, and Charlie Kolar off the board, I chose to go with Jelani Woods since we are thin at tight end. Jelani Woods is 6’7 and weighs in at 253 pounds making him one fascinating red zone target that Dak Prescott can throw to. With his strong, physical upper body, I believe he can hang with some of the top defense of ends when it comes to blocking them. I believe he can be on the field at the same time with Dalton Shultz.

This concludes the 4 round mock draft that I did. Zion Johnson at #24, Skyy Moore at #56, Sam Williams at #88, and Jelani Woods at #129. I can grade this Mock Draft an A-. Overall, very good and filled many holes we had opened. Let’s see what happens in 2 weeks with the real NFL Draft on April 28th. Thank you for reading today’s blog and can’t wait to see y’all next week when I give you guys my Win/Loss Predictions for next season as of right now before the draft. Go Cowboys!!!

Drafted no. 103 in the 3rd Round, LB Leo Chenal could have an immediate impact on the Chiefs defense. Chenal, 6'2", 260 lbs, was a standout at Wisconsin and had an impressive 40 time of 4.53 seconds at the NFL Combine in April.
Chenal also impressed as a high school athlete who excelled at playing both running back and linebacker. He will bring athleticism and strength alongside veteran LBs Willie Gay and Nick Bolton.
