It doesn’t matter how old I am or how much I’ve changed as a person, the SJA episode about Sarah Jane’s parents will make me sob just as much as when I was 9
#no you don’t get it her parents were literally doomed by the narrative#sarah jane had to grow up the way she did so she could then meet the doctor#by trying to save them she upsets the entire balance of the universe. you can’t go back in time to save people#as much as you want to#she tries and it causes the end of the world#so she knows her only option is to go back again tell her parents the truth and convince them to get in the car#the car they’ll have an accident in#leave their 3 month old baby and knowingly go straight to their deaths#for the sake of the world#yeah you know what now that I think about it a lot of tropes I adore now stem from this show#the sarah jane adventures
