I have ideas to try a new good animation software. Because Procreate is unsuitable for animating with too long a timeline and too many layers, the drawing process would be complicated and inconvenient.The feeling of TVP animation is closer to the sense of actual hand-drawn animation. So I aimed at TVP animation. I looked up this software's production process and felt it was good frame-by-frame software. So I looked for some tutorials on the software to learn about it.

This tutorial is an introductory tutorial to TVP. It explains how to purchase and install TVP and some primary interface usage. It looks very simple, but when I tried to use it, I couldn't use the software very well. Because of the shortcuts, which are entirely different from those in the Adobe series, it was very frustrating for me.

I was then lucky enough to find the official TVP tutorial, which went into great detail on all aspects of the software and was a great help in learning how to use it.

I also found a Chinese learning website that discusses the software, where people share their tips on how to use it and solve problems they encounter. I even found an interesting little plug-in called lazy brush, which made my colouring much quicker when I learned how to use it, especially when I needed to apply many different colours.

What brush do you use for shading? It looks so soft but also has a nice harsh edge to it its really nice

Hello! I'm so impressed by your Annecy opening! It's really amazing and the level of the art and animation is incredible! I love the process gifs you shared and I'm wondering how did you achieve the lineless look? Are the lines colored or removed? I'm really curious and I'd appreciate it very much if you explained the process. (And if you don't want to, that's understandable!) Thanks in advance and once again, gorgeous short!

Thank you so much, I’m really glad you liked it! The lineless look was achieved with tears of blood haha. As you can see in the process gifs, we tried to get a clean-up line as thin and closed as possible, cleaning with the basic brush at 1 or 2 pixels on tvpaint. Then we color it on another layer with the incrediblewonderful lazybrush on tvpaint, which spreads the color all the way under the line. That way we can remove the line layer, and because we killed our eyes and hands to get a super stable, as straight as possible line, the lineless supposedly isn’t too wobbly. I’m guessing there are other ways to do lineless, but that’s how we did it! :>
