anyway the way people on this website and probably on the internet as a whole are so obsessed with representation but especifically representation IN north american films is a bit. hm. to me. like i get the whole representation issue i get it completely i comprehend you don't have to explain it to me. but after a certain point if you really want to see a certain nationality/etc being represented you have to start looking for things made in THAT place by creators from THAT place. if you want to idk see egypt in a film why don't you watch an egyptian film. and i also understand that if a creator from a certain country makes a film in the usa about their own culture that's a big thing and it's important that they're having the space to do that but why are we depending so much on north american films. isn't it better to create a culture where people are willing to watch films from different places and in different languages than forever waiting for hollywood to notice that other countries exist? anyway don't come at me for this bye
