Hi! Do you make Disney sims for the Sims 2?
Yes, for my own amusement all the time! I have a Disney-movie-themed Build a City Challenge going that I need to get back to, Lake Buena Vista.
I’ve never packaged and shared any sims I made, or made any CC myself, though, if that’s what you’re asking. I’d be willing to share the sims I have if you’re interested, but currently that’s only from a few early movies—the ones in my Lake Buena Vista posts are all the Disney sims I have made so far, using modern CC I already had. I can also direct you towards more movie-accurate downloads, or at least the ones I know about, if that’s what you’re looking for—let me know if I can help more!

 Crater Lake National Park

I made a couple totally random Sims 2 resolutions today. No occasion, just things I would like to accomplish by the end of the year, and I am writing them down to fix it in my head.
1. Resume playing and posting about Lake Buena Vista, my Disney Animated Canon-themed BaCC. Honestly, I got weirdly intimidated by the very unexpected group of Johnny Appleseed fans taking my pictures of his barebones starter cabin in my undecorated hood and making fun of them. It wasn’t even to my face, but… yeah, that was weird. Anyway, I should get past that little rejection sensitivity to play my fun hood I made so many rules for again, I barely even got started and would like to unlock Alice in Wonderland please.
2. Finish setting up my Ubermegahood Through Time and start actually playing it. That shouldn’t be too hard, I only have… I think three houses left to build (Burb, Broke, Langerak, maybe King but I think I may have him mooch off either Kaylynn or the Brokes), plus a couple of simple community lots for the Goths to own (most likely a small church—St Agnes, perhaps?—and some sort of village green or small market).
3. The big one, finish fixing my medieval downloads folder so I can properly work on the Megakingdom of Simland again. I have tried everything, and it just keeps boiling down to needing to run the 50/50 method repeatedly until I stop finding random-ass perfectly good files that keep crashing my game. Literally did everything in my power to identify GUID conflicts and hack conflicts and broken CC, and there’s always something innocuous that refuses to be discovered any other way. So I am going to keep at it, and try to finish even if it takes me forever. I only have 2,871 files left to go through! That’s… not as bad as it could be! And it only takes me maybe half an hour to load these days, which is twice as fast as when I started! (I probably need a new computer, I cannot afford one nor do I want to have to break in a new computer for sims 2 if I can help it) I am dying to implement some of my plans such as turning the Summerdreams into fairies, rebranding the premade aliens as Unseelie to better match the Wild Hunt mod, making the Curious house be an abandoned quarry building with an old digging spot where the brothers try to cut magic stones, also Loki is going to force his sister to marry Nervous unless she gets a better offer, and Nervous is the heir to the duchy of Strangetown (a bastard, to be sure, sent to be raised by Lord Bjorn Beaker in secret, but recently formally recognized as Duchess Olive Specter’s only heir), but Nervous is attracted to his friend Pascal, who is not yet aware that his dalliance with the Unseelie left him permanently transformed and able to bear any man’s child… you get the idea.

LOL I went into my Disney BaCC hood intending to do a little decorating and then see where I am re playing, started working with Modify Neighborhood Terrain, and in short order fucked everything up because the line mini tutorial that was all that popped up when I looked for how to use this cheat did not specify hey don’t use this on the hood edges that will fuck things up without digging into the comments. And I didn’t backup first, because I’m an idiot. It’s probably okay, I am going to try using HoodReplacer to transplant a new AlpinLoch terrain to it, and then probably either do no editing or much more careful editing, and I am backing up now. but whyyyyyy both a. why did I not know how to do this I have been playing this game since it came out and b. why wouldn’t all descriptions of this cheat have that warning slapped on top. alpinloch is so hilly I needed to flatten so much and then everything was bad.
Hmmm I forgot I have both played and unplayed versions of this hood, and I am not sure which one I screwed up, so I guess I’m loading the game up again. Sigh. On the plus side, it does mean I have an AlpinLoch ready to transplant. It all just also means I am not gonna finish this and actually play, all because I am a dumb dumb.
ETA: Good news! The whole fucked up black bar was gone when I reloaded the hood, so I don’t think I need to use the hood replacer. Instead, I very carefully corrected the terrain and added decor as planned, and now am going into a household to play! yayyyy i didn’t cost myself a whole day just a couple hours

Today I utterly randomly started thinking about my Disney BaCC again. Which on the one hand, I would like to finish setting up one set of CC before getting distracted by another, but on the other hand that’s the beauty of having multiple downloads folders set up, I can just swap the Disney CC in and swap it back out when I’m done. It can be a problem keeping newly downloaded stuff separate before I install it, but pffft it’s fine, it’ll still be there when I go back.
Since I’m slightly more experienced at the proportionate age system, I corrected the ages in my spreadsheet. I thought newly minted adults were 25 and a half after the one Summer/Fall round—they were not! They’re 23.5, at 94 days old! …and I’m adjusting birthdates accordingly. I am going to call the year 1951 instead of Year 1, just for flavor, and I am going to adjust the few parents’ ages so they are old enough to have their kids. (Mainly Lady Tremaine, am debating whether to age a few others up a bit.) I have the fancy LTWs mod installed, but don’t think I will reroll everybody. Maybe some of them.
And I looked over my first few play sessions, and am seriously considering installing the full Sun&Moon Star Factory set, if only to give these poor sims any way to earn money. I also desperately need to decorate the hood itself, something I usually let fall by the wayside when I don’t share my games and/or play premade hoods. Might even try to flatten the terrain of the hood, although that sounds risky.
More than anything else, I am pleased to note that I still feel I have a really good, interesting-sounding set of rules that add lots of thematic flavor without being excessively complex. They need serious playtesting, but I like the foundation. Social classes with multiple royal families but only one ruler, with bickering and alliances and changing positions in the hierarchy; D&D alignments that matter as much as classes; True Love Conquering All; and a guild system for unlocking careers that was inspired entirely by the Adventurer’s Club. And I’m excited by the relationships that are setting themselves up: the Blue Fairy with Bashful, the Fairy Godmother with Jiminy Cricket, the Grand Duke with a nice lady mouse, the Evil Queen with Anastasia Tremaine while she woohoos her Huntsman on the side, Lady Tremaine with Stromboli. We’ll see if this plays out, but I have preliminary excitement over Doc and Johnny Appleseed, too.
(Oof, I just had some interesting thoughts about how Johnny Appleseed could/should have a cider or perhaps mead business with his apples, Pecos Bill and Slue Foot Sue should raise horses and cattle, the dwarves should mine, and the Huntsman should be able to actually hunt. UGHHHHH FIIIIINE I guess I am leaning towards Sun&Mooning the whole downloads folder.)

So, I’ve been having a Problem of continually switching to new Sims 2 games. Which is fine, except I keep failing to come back to the ones I’ve already started. Part of it is frustration over certain CC collections causing constant crashes, part of it is limited time causing me to lose momentum on what I was thinking about at work, part of it is probably just ADHD.
So what I’m gonna do right now is list all the games/hoods I have started and feel are in progress (as opposed to ones I am never going back to), plus ones I am planning. This is mainly for sorting out my thoughts and focus, but it’s fine if anybody else wants to look or ask me questions.
Modern Downloads Folder
1. Megahood Classic. This is an Ubermegahood I started around 2020, called a Megahood out of habit. For a while this folder had an older set of mods, not including things like traits and supernatural lifestates, but currently the only thing that distinguishes it is a lack of Proportionate Aging. It’s… slightly far along, for a megahood—most of the premade elders are dead and most of the premade teens are graduating college. It slowed down a bit because I had the aging mod installed for a while before deciding to remove it. And I had no plans to use new supernatural lifestates or traits in this megahood.
2. The Orphanarium. This is multiple instances of the Orphan Challenge played in the same hood, using deaged versions of characters from many of my favorite media, such as FF7 and Stargate. This is a type of hood I have played many times over the years, but this particular version I was just starting to set up.
Disney Downloads Folder
1. Lake Buena Vista, the Disney-themed BaCC featuring social class rules, guilds, and True Love. This is the project I made the downloads folder for, hence the name. Currently, the collection of downloads is virtually identical to the Modern collection, except this one uses Proportionate Aging.
2. Modern Ubermegahood. A freshly started Ubermegahood, featuring traits, proportionate aging with a calendar system, new LTWs, and hereditary supernaturalism. I’ve made a few posts about this; rest assured I got far enough ahead that it feels awkward to go back and make more. Plus I started forgetting to screenshot and write notes.
Medieval Downloads Folder
1. The Megakingdom of Simland. Exactly as it sounds, it’s an Ubermegahood rethemed to be medieval, played as a mega-Medieval Charter Challenge. I talk about it all the time. It’s been stalled for over a year, I think, because I installed CC incautiously and cannot pinpoint the problem CC to save my life. (Or, more accurately, I find a problem CC, remove it, and then the game crashes again and points to another one down the list. In theory the DDO, Clean Installer, and SimPE should help, but there’s always another bad CC file forcing me to 50/50. I have about 2500 files left to check and I hate how long it takes).
2. If the CC is ever resolved, I may make Grimwood Abbey, a sort of small/compressed start to an MCC forcing the sims to earn their social classes.
3. Algary, a standard MCC I started setting up long before all this was a problem. Of note is that the Squire family rolled all teens and children, no adults, and one peasant family includes elder lesbians.
Decades Downloads Folder
1. Arcadia, the hood I set up the folder for. It’s a rather ambitious plan for some sort of through-time BaCC starting in the 18th century, featuring a native population and manual religions. With Proportionate Aging, the idea is to advance a year for each aging year (4 days), or five years for each seasonal year, and progress through different eras at the correct time. There are five couples, the Shepherds, the Partidges, the Farmers, the Coles, and the Threepwoods.
2. Tortuga, the Pirate Shipwreck BaCC I posted about a couple months ago. I may need to duplicate the downloads folder and make a dedicated 18th/Pirate folder.
3. Port Royale, a Colonial BaCC I set up when I first got the downloads collection up. No plan, just four rolled families. Governor Thomas Marlowe is about all I can remember, with his elderly mother and two teen daughters. I think I have a family named Cunningham, and I might have a Cole family or… maybe an Underhill family. I’ll have to check again. I am thinking about renaming the hood to be less piratey, and using it as a simple BaCC through time starting in the 18th century, but without the complexities of manual religion or an entire native community.
4. Silver Hollow, a hood I started tonight because I wanted to start an 18th century BaCC and instead I just made one guy and started a colonial Legacy challenge, only for the game to severely hang up the first time he returned from a community lot. I did manage to make a great Woods community lot that I am packaging for my own use in any hood using the full Sun&Moon collection.
5. …and I also wanted to start a new Colonial BaCC featuring a slightly goofy Jebediah Springfield-like Founder, named Pendergast, and four families named Archer, Gardner, Parrish, and Thompson. Really, I should just merge this concept with the other one I started a while back.
Ancient Downloads Folder
1. Living History, a modified Test of Time Challenge to appeal to my history major/anthropology minor ways. The Neanderthal era is getting fully revamped to three stages of hunter/gatherer, tribal, and chiefdom; sims gain social status based on popularity and influence, not money, at least to start; and eras change based on achieving certain goals, not generations (at least not JUST generations; I’m trying to make it work with Proportionate Aging here)
Really, it’s not a ridiculous number of hoods here, it just frustrates me that aside from Ubermegahoods I struggle to get them off the ground and constantly start new ones instead of getting invested in the ones I already have. Honestly, it’s probably building everything from scratch that throws me and slows me down, which would be why I tend to prefer the premade hoods. I’d just download starter lots if I wasn’t always going for very specific themes, and also if installing downloaded lots wasn’t what broke my Megakingdom.
I wish I had more time.

Okay! I have finished building houses in Lake Buena Vista, the Disney BaCC!
I then got about halfway through assigning traits to everybody and realized I was missing some (Honest John needs to be a Kleptomaniac guys), so quit out to inspect that. I think it was just a matter of having a stew of medieval-themed trait duplicates that were supposed to replace some, so I’ll see if that has done the trick tomorrow. I also started on some organizing and cleaning of this downloads folder; it was basically a copy of my standard modern game CC smorgasboard with some recent skintones/makeup/hair/mods from the medieval hood added to the mix, so it is a tad messy.
Tumblr media
Honest John Foulfellow
Tumblr media
...and his partner/roommate Gideon Gatti. I mean that literally, they’re not into each other. Well, they have one bolt, and not a lot of prospects, so I might let it happen. Gideon’s more into Snow White than anyone else, hilariously. I want them to be at the forefront of founding the Thieves’ Guild (or whatever I decide to call the guild hall for the Criminal career), but Honest John wants to be a City Planner and Gideon wants to be the head of SCIA. Crooked, I assume.
Tumblr media
Their house. Like the other commoner houses, it is fully furnished and decorated because I didn’t start by going overboard and overbudget. I tried to make it a little scrubby, but that is not my preferred aesthetic, sooooo...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
See, they have a damaged couch and Honest John’s bed is just fancy sheets on a pile of box springs, and all the nice art is probably forgeries! ...I am very fond of the Calvin and Hobbes triptych on Gideon’s wall though, I feel like that suits him.
Tumblr media
Then Mangiafuoco Stromboli, who lives with
Tumblr media
Romeo Lampwick, a Teen! I think those are canon first names for the both of them; I would not have named Lampwick Romeo. My brain wants his first name to be Chester, thanks Simpsons. As previously mentioned, Stromboli is probably going to get Lady Tremaine to run off with him. There are literally only two teens in the hood right now and they’re both boys (technically I should have made Snow and Cinderella be teens but dammit if they’re old enough to get married they are adults), and I have yet to see if they hit it off; more likely they will just have to wait for new sims to be born/age up or move to town. Lampwick wants to be a Professional Party Guest, which is appropriate, while Stromboli wants to be Hand of Poseidon, which... sure, Stromboli, you do you I guess.
Tumblr media
The Stromboli house. I think this time I succeeded at giving it a strong lower class aesthetic from the outside!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...not nearly so much on the inside, but it’ll do.
Tumblr media
Next up is Pecos Bill, whose hair does not fit under his required cowboy hat. He can’t go without the hat; I might try to find him hair that works with it better.
Tumblr media
And Slue Foot Sue, shown here in the process of flirting. She’s got the same issue, but I like her hair too much, so eh. Pecos Bill wants to be an Icon, which can’t happen as he is uneducated, and Slue Foot Sue wants to be Media Magnate, which could. If I was using Sun & Moon’s Star Factory products in this town, I would have them literally raising cows and horses, but I do not want the hassle of figuring that out. They might have a non-CC farm, and/or raise dogs maybe?
Tumblr media
Their house. Many houses in this hood ended up teetering on the edge of a cliff. I should have set it up in a flatter hood instead of the Aesthetic Mountain Lake, but try and tell that to Last Year Me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fortunately, it was not hard to have a light cowboyish vibe to their decor.
Tumblr media
Johnny Appleseed, with his two apple trees in the background!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made his house a little too big, so it ended up a little more sparsely decorated. But he has everything he needs (the sun and the rain and the apple trees~), and he’s super ready for a partner to move in and start a family with him. He wants to be a Mad Scientist despite my apple plans for him, and this ambition matches that of Doc Goodmountain who is the person he is most attracted to, so... we’ll see!
Tumblr media
Before I get to the commoners from the last few movies, check out Katrina’s new outfit! The pink isn’t a perfect match, but the whole look of it suits her I think.
Tumblr media
Meet Brom Bones, in theory a potential suitor for Katrina but in practice Brom is much more into 1. men or 2. the fairies. Good for him!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His house is slightly bland, I did my best but was definitely getting tired of making small starter houses.
Tumblr media
Ichabod Crane! Looking WAY more handsome than his cartoon counterpart, I might add, despite an effort to match his features. He wants to be a Professional Party Guest, but I might force him to work on Education instead and get the guild set up and university unlocked for the first born generation. He’s got a chance with Katrina, actually, but he’s also equally into Grumpy for some reason.
Tumblr media
I have some interior pictures, but there really isn’t a lot going on there. He has a chess table.
The last household is Souris, aka the Mice From Cinderella as human sims. I think I’ll save that for a post tomorrow as this is already quite long and there are a full 8 mice with a fairly large house to match. At first I was only going to use Jaq and Gus, then I was desperate for more female characters and looked up whether the lady mice were named, and then I discovered the two identical mice and the little one also have names, and there was nothing for it but including them all. I’ll get into it more when I post their pictures. And then, assuming the trait cleanup worked, I will finish assigning traits, copy the hood for duplication and backup, and then play!

Celeste, Summer 1
It’s only been a couple weeks and I completely forgot how I was doing this before. Well, whatever. This is the first round for Blue Celeste, aka the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, in Lake Buena Vista the Disney-themed BaCC!
Tumblr media
Art is a very popular pastime in Lake Buena Vista, possibly because I am going easy on the sim economy and allowing sims to sell their Art to the ether. Not sure that will last forever, but for now it’s keeping them afloat.
Tumblr media
Blue is only Nobility, not Royalty, see. That makes the til-now-standard Politics job not an option for her. She wants to be a Media Magnate, which thankfully synergized well with some of the basic self-employment options; to qualify to found the Journalism Guild, her only available options are Writing a Novel and Having 8+ Interest in Politics or Entertainment, and the latter would require her to buy a magazine from a community lot nobody’s built yet. So, novels it is.
Here, she is working on various friendships; due to availability she’s going to have to petition Snow White for permission to marry a commoner. Once she actually has one in mind, of course.
Tumblr media
She’s also a Night Owl, which is a trait that took some getting used to.
Tumblr media
~Honest John walks in with a mischievous grin~
Tumblr media
...he stole her paper while she was on the phone. I couldn’t resist.
Tumblr media
Anyway, Blue spent her days sleeping in and working on her novel...
Tumblr media
...and her nights HELLO. That’s Bashful Goodmountain. I repeat, BASHFUL. They had good chemistry, so I had her spend some time talking to him on the phone, and the first time she invited him over THIS HAPPENED.
Tumblr media
...they are precious.
Tumblr media
PRECIOUS.
Tumblr media
He even sang to her! For Disney characters that’s like third base!
Tumblr media
I had them paired up as a possibility on my spreadsheet, but did not anticipate they’d be so cute together. Next round, I will probably move him in with her and have her petition Snow White--but I gotta have one round of him living in the dwarf cottage with his brothers.
...I completely missed the royalties call for her novel, by the way. So we’ll just say her first novel didn’t sell, and it does not qualify her for the Journalism Guild until a novel does sell. Not that it matters; she can’t exactly afford to build a guild hall yet. And I also managed to completely forget about having her grow her own crops AGAIN, sooooo I really gotta make Gepetto or somebody set up a grocery store.
I also did some tinkering with my mods, as one or two weren’t working correctly, and realized maybe I don’t actually like Boiling Oil’s Alien Experiments mod? It’s a cool idea, and I thought it would be a fun way to get more supernatural sims into the hood... but in playing with a different hood in the same build--a Strangetown for funsies--I found I was disappointed every time an abducted sim didn’t come back pregnant. I was excited about the same-sex pregnancy token part, but... I have rules for that that might not cooperate well with the mod? and it might just be easier to just make same-sex pregnancies happen when I choose rather than using a whole mod? I’ll think about it some more, but that mod might just be Not For Me.
OH, and I nearly forgot. Blue Celeste is a Popularity sim who wants to become a Media Magnate; her traits are Good, Nuturing, Dramatic, Night Owl, and Disciplined (which I decided sounded accurate for somebody appointing consciences, even if its Sims meaning isn’t like that), and her hobby is Arts and Crafts. Next up is Lucinda Verene, the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella; I already played her round, and she too has a surprisingly good love interest. I’m pretty excited about it.

Year 1 Summer/Fall, Tuefel
Sometime I’m going to have to look back and see whether I have been even slightly consistent in titling these posts.
Anyway, despite various uncertainties I persevered in playing Lake Buena Vista, the Disney-themed BaCC I won’t shut up about! Today I played the Tuefel household, aka the Evil Queen’s household; she’s the last and lowest-ranking Royalty in the hood.
Get ready for a little Drama.
Tumblr media
Remember how I was all excited about pairing Grimhilde here off with Anastasia Tremaine? Well, Grimhilde had other ideas. She’s a Romance sim, and huntsman Humbert Forester is right there.
...I reasoned that they cannot legally marry as he is a peasant, Snow White is not likely to grant an exception for the literal villain of her story, and therefore Grimhilde is still going to pursue marrying Anastasia, as that is a nice legal pairing between a queen and a noble lady. (...and Grimhilde’s gonna use magic to produce children, of course.)
Tumblr media
Then, of course, I turned her into a proper evil witch, and this happened. I... don’t play with witches often, I forgot this is a problem. I’ll have to get some mods so she can be her normal stylish self again. In this round, she certainly seems to enjoy it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Humbert wound up in an appropriately servile role, planting the garden and making dinner, while Grimhilde dicked around making potion reagents and waiting for somebody to concede her permission to participate in Politics (ie, she struggled to find the job in the paper. But I have decided that means Snow White was refusing to work with her at first.)
Tumblr media
So here’s where the real drama begins. I’d already had Grimhilde make friends with Anastasia on the phone, and here she was doing a walkby! I had Humbert quickly greet her while Grimhilde wrapped up her magic alchemy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Things went pretty well!
Tumblr media
...then Grimhilde makes this face. That’s fine, she is probably just being an evil witch, right?
Tumblr media
NOPE. She goes off to the bedroom to WooHoo Humbert, leaving Anastasia...
Tumblr media
...alone on the couch, waiting to be acknowledged.
And then afterwards, trying to get back on track, I had Grimhilde come back out and be kind and flirty to her guest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anastasia dreams of the wealth she’s going to have when she marries the Evil Queen, not realizing that Grimhilde just walked away. It’s fine, they sent her home shortly after.
Tumblr media
Eventually, Grimhilde got the Politics job required of her. Not sure whether it happened at the time of this picture, but eh it flows nicely.
Tumblr media
...and with her handmade reagents, she cast spells to improve her mood for work.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Humbert spent his time between gardening, cooking, and WooHooing making friends with Brom Bones, a surprisingly good match for him if I can pry Grimhilde away, but an apt friend either way. I feel like the Huntsman would enjoy going hunting with Brom Bones and then grabbing drinks or something.
Tumblr media
The next night, I had Grimhilde invite Anastasia over, and Ana went for her first kiss! omg I want it to be sweet, but it has turned into “nooo Ana Grimhilde is using you look out”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their date went really well all things considered, a Dream Date despite Grimhilde starting off bored and frustrated. Anastasia, I have concluded, is probably a bit willfully unobservant.
Tumblr media
...and then as soon as Anastasia’s back is turned, Grimhilde cackles evilly. I mean, what else can I do with that?
Tumblr media
And Grimhilde went right back to bed with Humbert. I have no idea, guys, I mean, she’s a Romance sim. I thought at first she’d maybe have a brief thing with Humbert before they separated to start more legal families, but she has zero interest in ending it, is quite happy to string Anastasia along while she sleeps with Humbert, and keeps making unhappy and evil faces as soon as Anastasia’s back is turned. Well, I guess everyone here except Humbert is evil, so Anastasia is using Grimhilde to social climb and Grimhilde is using her to potentially start an evil royal dynasty, but it’s really hard not to feel bad for Anastasia here.
Tumblr media
Anyway, Humbert started trying to befriend the local wolf as he tended the garden...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grimhilde worked on her magic and took advantage of Anastasia’s connections to work on making an evil ally in Lady Eleanor Tremaine, to one day overthrow the tyrranical rule of Good.
Tumblr media
...and Humbert and Grimhilde absolutely insisted on WooHooing on the couch.
Tumblr media
At one point, Grimhilde got promoted to Politics level 2, because I forgot to give her a Job Stoppinator, and just look how smug and satisfied she is. She can rule just as well as Snow White. Better. She’ll show them. She’ll show them all!
(she will not be allowed another promotion until Snow advances appropriately, I just thought this was funny)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And she serenaded Humbert! Who are you Grimhilde? Why do you think you’re a Disney Princess now? You’re the villain, you don’t get a love song!
That’s about it for this round; no pregnancies, alas. It sure would have been fun to have a Huntsman/Evil Queen oops baby, but I figure Grimhilde’s vanity makes her exercise EXTREME caution about procreation. She’s already going to use her magic to impregnate Anastasia after they marry--and they will marry, make no mistake, everything I said earlier about legality still holds true, and they made plenty of headway in their relationship, plus you know Eleanor Tremaine isn’t going to let her daughter let a Queen go no matter what. She’s just... more into Humbert, and doesn’t make the evil faces after interacting with him so much. Possibly just because he’s right there.
I should probably be putting these at the beginning of posts, but a quick rundown of these two: Queen Grimhilde Tuefel is a Romance sim who wants to WooHoo with 20 Different Sims (I know, right? I’ll probably let her, though; at least it’s attainable); her traits are Perfectionist, Diva, Dramatic, Evil, and Dislikes Children, and her hobby is Music & Dance. Humbert Forester, a commoner, is a Popularity sim who wants to Become a Celebrity Chef; his traits are Loves the Outdoors, Loner, Eco-Friendly, Animal Lover, and Gatherer, and his hobby is Sports. I am planning, as I often do, to have Grimhilde open a magic shop selling reagents and potions, but that’s a long way off. Humbert may work towards unlocking cuisine, but since Prince Consort Florian also has that goal, it’s much more likely Humbert will just end up working in somebody’s restaurant. We’ll see, though.
Next up will be the Blue Fairy, Blue Celeste, the first Noble household, and I might not get to it next weekend due to Life. We shall see.

Year 1, Summer/Fall Beaufort
Still have not gotten the hang of sharing Sims content, but I figured I would rather persevere.
I played the first round for Cinderella and Charming Beaufort a few nights ago, and yeah, I’m still working out the kinks. Might have been sensible for me to actually play one real BaCC before trying to make up my own fancy themed rules, but where’s the fun in that?
Firstly, I decided that my current rules were making things a little too easy and career-centered for a BaCC, and so I changed it so that a guild hall is required to unlock each career (except Politics); previously, if you recall, I was allowing up to three sims to join a career before the guild hall was constructed, and then sims in the career who met the requirements qualified to build the guild hall and found the career. Now, a sim must meet the requirements and have enough money to construct a guild hall on a minimum 3x3 lot, and nobody can join the career until a guild hall is constructed and the guild founded (again, except for Politics). The guild hall does not have to be in its final state, but it does have to be a completed and furnished building.
Secondly, although I am now satisfied that my rules are appropriate for a BaCC, I have noticed that I am bad at playing a BaCC.
Tumblr media
Cinderella and Prince Charming Beaufort make out in front of their big, sparsely decorated manor. Unlike the White family, these two are already married. I have no idea why I set it up with that disparity over a year ago, but that means the Beauforts can get right down to business.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...they did not waste any time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Cinderella got to work starting a garden so they’d have food during winter, and Charming was drawn to the easel just like Florian was. Honestly, maybe if the Disney Princes were allowed to express themselves artistically they wouldn’t be so obsessed with young women they find singing in the woods or whatever.
Tumblr media
Charming got his crappy, crappy level 1 Politics job; every royal family is required to have one member in that career, but no one can be the same or higher level than Snow White, as the ruler. And she only made it to level 2. Sighhhhhhh. It kept them afloat, I’ll give it that.
Tumblr media
Cinderella experiences an important life-changing revelation while attempting to garden in her nightie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’s pregnant! This happened almost immediately, so technically she beat Snow White to first pregnancy.
Tumblr media
Yes, Snow, I see you, but you are in your third trimester on the first of Winter, technically; Cinderella’s in her first on the first of Fall I believe.
Tumblr media
Cinderella couldn’t take a job because of the updated rules, and would have been on maternity leave anyway, and spent a lot of time making friends with the two Good sims she knows, Snow White and the Fairy Godmother. Also, I just liked this picture; Cinderella looks pretty, and it also illustrates just how sparse their big empty kitchen is. (although I believe the picture is from a little later)
Tumblr media
The couple struggled to keep their little garden going, always getting distracted by Politics, romance, and making friends. And the needs of pregnancy.
Tumblr media
...leading to Cinderella giving birth alone in the garden, next to one of the few plants left alive, while Charming was at work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...he got home before she was done.
Tumblr media
Meet Princess Danielle Beaufort, firstborn daughter of Cinderella, and firstborn child of the neighborhood, born Year 1, Fall, Day 3 I think! She is a baby with no personality yet! I think the traits mod is going to automatically have her inherit some traits from her parents, but I will have to wait and see.
Oh, and I forgot to introduce traits for each of the characters here!
Cinderella is a Popularity sim who wants to Have 20 Best Friends; her traits are Good, Neat, Virtuoso, Nurturing, and Hopeless Romantic; and her hobby is Cuisine. If they can ever afford it, I want to have her open a tailor shop business. (Can’t be a home business, as they are royalty!)
Charming is a Family sim who wants to Have 6 Grandchildren (good start on that!); his traits are Good, Charismatic, Adventurous, Equestrian, and Loner; and I have not identified his hobby yet. His best bet for one day founding a Guild is Adventurer, since his traits and interests match, but it’ll be a long time before they can build up that kind of cash--between paying taxes and buying a crib, their funds went up very little this round. I am considering whether it makes more sense for all future rounds’ taxes to be Income Tax, rather than the “percentage of family funds” tax I started with.
...anyway, all their crops died, and I am worried about how they will get through the winter, especially if nobody manages to open a grocery store or something. We’ll see; Gepetto is sitting on a pile of extra cash, and Snow should make a fair amount from taxes this round. The sensible way to play this would be to have Gepetto open a grocery store and Snow use the tax money to build a Town Hall (the Politics Guild Hall, which allows her to advance past level 5, unlocks the guild for qualifying sims to join and thus join the career, and is a step in unlocking subhoods).
So, aside from the little princess, it certainly feels like the Beauforts were a struggle, thus suggesting that I am simply not particularly good at BaCCs. The rules I have on Royalty certainly do strangle them a bit early on. I’m curious whether other households will fare better with this ruleset. Oh, and I’m very excited that this setup, with some couples and some sims who will have to find a partner, is effectively going to stagger pregnancies and births much much better than if I had started any hood with just a bunch of married couples. I think the other pre-married couple is Pecos Bill and Slue Foot Sue; everyone else is likely to take a round or two to get settled, which is fun.
0 CAS points down, 7 to go...

Still working a little on setting up the Disney BaCC. Since last time, I have built Katrina Van Tassel’s house (incomplete dammit) and the Seven Dwarves’ Cottage. I’ve also decided that I want to use traits in this hood--I got all prepped to use them in the Megakingdom and I think assigning traits to all the Disney characters is gonna be a lot of fun.
(I also realized at one point that Bruno Madrigal is not the first Bruno in the Disney Animated Canon, and had to have a moment.)
Anyway, Katrina!
Tumblr media
I feel I did great on her hair and face, but struggled to find her a good outfit. This one’s the same cut as Anastasia and Drizella, which bugs me. I might have to do a clothing download dive.
Tumblr media
The Van Tassel home! You can probably tell I ran out of money and it’s mostly a shell, but I’m proud of getting the shape of it right. Technically, in the picture I used you can see an extension off the back, but we’ll just save that for when she gets wealthy again.
And the Seven Dwarves, aka the Goodmountain family!
Tumblr media
Grumpy
Tumblr media
Doc
Tumblr media
Sneezy
Tumblr media
Dopey
Tumblr media
Sleepy
Tumblr media
Happy
Tumblr media
And Bashful!
They are going to go all sorts of crazy directions, I am sure. Several of them are into the Blue Fairy and/or the Fairy Godmother, some are into mice or Brom Bones... Doc’s kind of into Johnny Appleseed, which is fun. And because their personalities don’t go great with Aspirations, everyone is Popularity except Doc, who is Knowledge. Doc wants to be a Mad Scientist. Grumpy and Bashful both want to have 20 best friends. Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy, and Dopey want to become, respectively, an Icon, Media Magnate, Mayor, and Celebrity Chef. I don’t know, guys. We’ll see. Sneezy’s dream of being Mayor is definitely going to be thwarted by the fact that the ruler Snow White must have the highest job level in Politics, and then further by the point that all royal families must attempt to have at least one member in politics, and a guild must be founded before any career can have more than three members... but we’ll see.
And their cottage:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Why are the tiny one-or-two room peasant houses so much easier to make within budget? The dwarves are also going to dig for treasure and sell what they find, as a backup for locked dream careers and the like. At least one of them is probably gonna pursue a community lot business. I considered using Sun & Moon’s Star Factory mining sets for the dwarves to play with, but I really don’t want to worry about or feel obligated to update everything and set up a whole economy for this hood.

Lake Buena Vista part 2:
Yesterday I made almost all the noble houses; today I finished the Tremaine estate and built Gepetto’s house. Funnily enough, I was able to 100% complete Gepetto’s house whereas all the noble houses were left unfinished and half-furnished; this is because I have been trying to follow the canon houses as much as possible, Gepetto’s house is a very small peasant shop, and in my setup Gepetto is not only a merchant, but also an Adult Human Jiminy Cricket was created separately and moved in, giving them a rather absurd bonus. I am considering charging them more for their first round of taxes--maybe make the first round be a net worth tax and every other round be income?
Anyway, the remaining poor quality pictures from yesterday:
Tumblr media
Lucinde Verene, aka the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella. I believe I totally made up that name. You can’t really see it in this blurry picture, but she’s got some aging makeup on to disguise the fact that she’s... just an adult. I figured it would be more interesting if most of the clearly elderly characters were marriageable adults in my game, especially the women, plus she’s magic she can be any age she wants. I’m going to adjust their ages a bit to put these older characters at the higher end of the Adult section, but they will all have a chance to start families if they want to.
I did work hard to give her house a Grandma vibe though; that seems like her style.
Tumblr media
Interior pictures will arrive when I sit down to play the lot. I don’t know why I decided to make it a fairly bland brownstone, but here we are. Also, I am kind of distraught over the ugly lot elevation I couldn’t work with very well, but I don’t think I can do much beyond moving her to a new lot, and it’s a little late for that right now.
Tumblr media
Here we have the Grand Duke from Cinderella, who I have named Raymond Lamaire. As a single male nobleman who is neutral, he’s kind of a hot commodity; in theory he should get paired off with one of the Wicked Stepsisters, if I am true to the rules and the hierarchy, but he really can’t stand them, and they each have someone they prefer. I’m testing the waters for many relationship options, but it’s likely he’s gonna end up with a Humanized Mouse that he hit it off with.
(Look, there were some animal characters I always wanted to make into human sims for this hood, and eventually for the sake of maximizing the female characters, adding some diversity, and sticking to a fair rule for the whole project, I decided with few exceptions I would just make every sentient, named animal character into human sims to add to the hood. I made the mice human because they talk; I did not make Lucifer human because he doesn’t. And I haven’t so far added any animal characters as animals because I’m bad at playing pets in the Sims 2, and I have to keep my sanity somehow.)
Tumblr media
...the Grand Duke’s estate. Those roof pieces are expensive; he really has a lot of work to do to make this place actually livable.
Tumblr media
A picture from today, after I got rid of the blur! ...but the Tremaine estate is the lot I used to make everybody meet one another, and as such it loaded at night. Well, whatever. It’s Lady Tremaine! I gave her the first name Eleanor, and I might come back and give her a touch of age makeup. She’s in the same “should technically be an elder but it’s more interesting this way” boat as Lucinde, and her remarriage prospects are hilariously interesting: she is into Stromboli from Pinocchio! It’s not terribly in character, but highly amusing, especially as she also wants to be a Prestidigitator. Lady’s got her priorities, wherever they came from. I like to think she’s allowing herself to pursue a valueless lower-class relationship because she’s putting everything into her daughters bringing in the wealth and prestige.
Tumblr media
Anastasia Tremaine! I will tell you right now, when I got the citizens aquainted with one another and checked them for chemistry, I set everybody as Bi just to see if sparks would fly. No true love anywhere in the hood yet, but Anastasia is VERY interested in THE EVIL QUEEN. Isn’t that amazing? Of course Lady Tremaine would set aside any bigotry to get her daughter married to a queen! Maybe Anastasia will learn witchcraft from her and they’ll conspire together to raise the status of their royal house and overthrow Cinderella! It’s so perfect, OUAT can eat its heart out. (just kidding OUATW I still love you)
Tumblr media
And Drizella Tremaine! Her romantic prospects aren’t nearly as interesting as the other two, and she might wind up just marrying a mouse or a dwarf and be forced to maintain the family name while Anastasia gets to marry up and Lady Tremaine gets to indulge her wild side.
Tumblr media
The Tremaine estate; I did my best. It is *very* sparse within, and I didn’t even build the tower yet. They need so much money.
Tumblr media
On to our merchants; here we see Gepetto talking to a dwarf. Yet another character aged down for the Drama this may create. I don’t have many plans for him yet, though; he’s just got his toymaking business.
Tumblr media
Pinocchio, one of the few children amongst the founding families. And he’s absolutely surrounded by dwarves.
Tumblr media
And a nice humanized Jiminy Cricket! Again, I went to some effort to not just copy OUAT on his design; I think I did okay. I am not sure there were *any* romantic prospects for him, which saddens me. I’ll check again when I play, I just have not recorded any chemistry so far. Perhaps he’ll be into the White Rabbit or somebody when I unlock Alice in Wonderland.
Tumblr media
Gepetto’s house and shop! It is the BEST house I’ve made for this hood so far, probably. Perhaps only because it’s pretty much finished.
Tumblr media
Look, interior shots, because it’s actually furnished throughout! Although I see I forgot all the lessons I learned about roofs and ceilings from the medieval hood, le sigh.
Tumblr media
I probably modeled it after the canon house a little too much; they have $40,000 left I can probably build them a small extension to put their kitchen someplace more private.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Currently, there are two small bedrooms and a bathroom at the back; Pinocchio and Jiminy have to share.
That’s about it for now; my report is caught up. Next I’ll do Katrina Van Tassel’s house, then the (beat) eight commoner houses I gotta build. And then it will be time to start playing!

Year 1, Summer/Fall, Lamaire
Still not sure I have created any uniformity at all with these posts, but am Trying. Also, I am now routinely making posts a week after a played them, which is fine I’m sure, it’s just that I have a harder time remember what I was doing. I just have to make the post before I play the next household, dammit.
Anyway, this is the first round for Raymond Lamaire, aka the Grand Duke from Cinderella. I struggled a lot with him, but I think I’m finally getting the hang of playing an actual BaCC. Because he’s the first sim in the hood to start a home business.
Tumblr media
Mostly, his stupid roof was so expensive and he had so little money left that I finally conceded he had to sell stuff in order to get anywhere. He wants to be an Oceanographer, so in order to progress towards that guild he’s doing a lot of fishing, so… he’s selling fish. The grand Duke from Cinderella is reduced to a fishmonger. If he’d known it would come to this, he never would have come to town.
Tumblr media
Also pictured: a visiting Prince Florian falling on his ass. Raymond at least kept his dignity while fishing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He wasn’t even able to spend much time pursuing a potential wife, although he has definitely hit it off with Mary Souris (a lady Mouse from Cinderella). They’re in no position to move in together yet, which is just as well because he’s gonna need to befriend Snow White in order to get permission to marry a commoner. Next round, I guess.
Tumblr media
His business got preyed upon by the local charlatans, and Raymond actually had his actual pocket picked by Honest John. Multiple times. Once, he lost $150, which at the time was like half his business’ profits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...he’s a bit of a sucker. Did I mention that I am totally in love with the kleptomaniac/pickpocket mod applying to Honest John? That interaction is the most in-character goddamn thing for him and I love it so much.
Tumblr media
He did, at least, scrape together enough to buy a dining table and put some walls and flooring up, although I didn’t get pictures of the new goodies. And a couple windows. The LeTourneau Prize helped a ton. And I’m hoping that sims who purchased his fish will be able to have a little extra food to last them through the winter. (...please tell me OFB has that much functionality?)
More than anything else, this has made me realize I am being very soft on my BaCC by letting sims sell their art and stuff into the ether. I think I am going to implement a rule that sims can only sell stuff to the catalogue if they cannot afford to set up a home business at the start of a round, and might remove the exception after a round or two. Also considering either a. Always allowing trash boots/bones/rocks to be catalogue sold, or b. Requiring some sort of community lot recycling center before that is allowed. I’m doing A for now.
I’ve also decided I really need to be using a slightly different CAS point earning method than usual, because the next two movies are going to require 7 and 14 points to unlock, respectively, and it’s going to take over 150 points total to get through this whole thing, which I would like to be physically possible at least. The plan right now is: Standard community lots are worth 2 points, and must be purchased with the town treasury or with funds from a wealthy sim; Sim-owned businesses are worth 1 point, plus 1 for every five ranks the business has achieved; and Guild halls are worth 1 point plus 1 for every five career levels the members collectively earn, not including the first level. I’ll see how well that works or doesn’t work as I go along. Right now, that means I have 1 CAS point for the Grand Duke’s home business, only 6 to go!
And oh yes, Raymond is a Knowledge sim who wants to be Hand of Poseidon; his traits are Proper, Neat, Snob, Coward, and Workaholic. I don’t know his hobby yet, but it’s not Nature.
...on a different note, I happened to watch The Great Mouse Detective this week, among other movies, and now I’m all in a tizzy about “but but I already did the Cinderella mice so I should probably just go ahead and include all the other mice and mouse movies even though I wasn’t planning to” and “if I include all the mice, should I do Rescue Rangers???” and “but wait, maybe I should be delaying The Jungle Book and Talespin to go with the vaguely planned second pass Animal Round if I ever complete this whole thing?” and “...I’ve already skipped Dumbo, Bambi, The Three Caballeros, and The Wind in the Willows, I can’t just add all the animal movies now!” I think I’ll probably add The Rescuers (including Down Under) and The Great Mouse Detective and Rescue Rangers as I get to them, but am still waffling over The Jungle Book. Diversity! But animals! But Talespin! etc etc.
ANYWAY. I will definitely play another household this weekend, and coming up next is the Tremaine household.

Year 1, Summer/Fall Verene
I actually played this household last week, and just didn’t get around to an actual update until now. Mostly, weekends are prime Sims 2 time, and I wanted to get this batch of storytelling taken care of before future events made me forget what happened.
Tumblr media
Luncinda Verene, aka the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella. She’s much more conscientious about making sure she has food for the winter than certain other sims. And this round is mostly about the surprise love interest she found...
Tumblr media
Unlike a lot of households, she got a group of neighbors visiting. I’m not sure what made the difference, but she definitely enjoyed the company. I believe that’s Mary Souris on the couch (a Cinderella Mouse), Stromboli dissing eggs, and Jiminy Cricket silently disapproving.
Tumblr media
I just like this shot. You can actually see some of her age makeup, although I forgot to advance her towards the higher end of adultivity. It’s fine, she’s magic. She can look any age she wants.
Tumblr media
Initially, I thought I’d be pairing her off with Happy Goodmountain. They have some chemistry, and when I ran the numbers earlier to figure out who to match up, he worked best for her. I had her do some flirting, and everything went smoothly.
Tumblr media
...then Jiminy dropped by to visit.
Tumblr media
I honestly can’t remember whether he was a lucky walkby or if she invited him. They were rapidly becoming friends, as you can see by their greeting, and their chemistry turned out to be quite respectable--obviously, I didn’t have Jiminy meet enough people, or I would have known this.
Anyway, they announced their desires pretty clearly.
Tumblr media
DUDE. I didn’t even think about this, but it’s kind of absurd how well it works, right? Like, if you were trying to pair off even the odd or obscure Disney characters and were just thinking about who’d work well with who, Jiminy Cricket and the Fairy Godmother sound like a weirdly good match, right? Just based on their personalities, right?
It gets better!
Tumblr media
What actually happened within the game is that the interaction glitched out or got interrupted, and so they stopped before WooHooing and did something else. Given who it is, my gut tells me that Jiminy’s conscience got the better of him, and he and Lucinda agreed to get to know each other better before making such a big decision.

Over the course of the season, they were polite and chaste and sweet, and took their time getting to know one another, slowly falling in love before making another attempt, now with a solid, respectable foundation.
...they’re so goddamn cute.
Tumblr media
...meanwhile, all the rest of Lucinda’s time was devoted to farming and occasionally Art to support herself. I might have to forbid selling artwork to the ether; it’s keeping a lot of my sims afloat, but it’s contrary to the spirit of a BaCC. I’m not really sure what else to have her do, though; she wants to be a Rock God, and I don’t really have a good idea for ways she can make money while working her way up to founding a Music guild. Like, there have to be community lots ready before she can make money playing music on them.
...maybe I’ll have her be a favored choice for Same-Sex Pregnancy Magic? I have a rule, now especially enforceable that I’ve removed the Alien Experiments mods. Same-sex couples require magical intervention to have a baby, meaning they’ll have to find a witch, fairy, or genie to help them. There’ll be a fee involved which could be waived for family and close friends, and possibly a higher fee for a more permanent spell allowing that couple to have babies on their own time. They certainly can’t adopt yet, and I might also make this something that a Medical Guildmaster can perform (...like, somebody high level in the Medical career once the guild is founded), and perhaps a side effect of abduction. Anyway, that’s an option. So far my only same-sex couple already involves a witch who’ll make her own babies, but I haven’t gotten into the dwarves or mice yet.
For reference, Lucinda Verene is a Popularity sim who wants to be a Rock God; her traits are Good, Eccentric, Nurturing, Good Sense of Humor, and Friendly, and I don’t know her hobby yet.
