This is my Secret Santa post for Shu! I'm going off the third prompt, where you asked for anything I may be able to sneak a hug into :D
I was super excited when I saw the prompt, especially with the fluff and hurt/comfort tags because I got to use this reference from Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani; which by far has the *best* hug I've ever seen in cinema.

I ended up combining the hanahaki prompt with the suggested tropes of soulmate AU and angst. Red string of fate has always been my favorite soulmate AU and the idea grabbed me right away.
