i rlly put so much thought into why onewe haven’t blown up yet

#i think the idol band label has kinda alienated them from the kband scene that they came from + rbw can't figure out how to promote them #as idols OR as a band #and the more i think abt it the more i feel like there rlly is just smth very korean about them that maybe turns intl koppies off of them #i still can't put that into good words but they are just.....very much making modern korean music?#like when i think of artists they sound like or remind me of i never once think of any western artists #only korean artists like nell or sanulrim #or ft island #and yonghoon just has SUCH a ballad voice #ofc those artists were (at least in part) inspired by western artists ik that #and i've just never rlly heard them talk abt western or non-korean musicians? most of their covers are korean songs #but idk obvs idk anything abt what is korean and not bc i'm not korean #and i'm not trying to be some kind of definer or authority on that subject! it's not my place #m: onewe #idk it's just so interesting to me #ik i just said he has a ballad voice but also #when i listen to the ballad singers that are popular i feel like a lot of them have a rlly unique quality/character to their voices #like his voice is too smooth maybe.....idk like i said i think abt this sooooo much #but they definitely don't make music for an international audience imo like i don't think that's their goal
