A scenic boat ride to Maya Bay

If you travel to Thailand, you have to visit the stunning Maya Bay. It is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The sandy white beach is surrounded by 100-meter high cliffs that are covered with green shrubs and mosses.

We rented a speedboat from our hotel and left bright and early at around 7 am to avoid the crowds. The boat ride to Maya Bay is an exciting journey in itself. You can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the gentle ocean breezes and amazing panoramic views as the boat passes through majestic sea cliffs over the clear turquoise water.

Once you reach Maya Bay, you can walk around the beach and witness the spectacular view of the blue ocean surrounded by hills on three sides of the beach. Or enjoy a nice swim in the shimmering crystal clear water. If you are like us and love to explore marine life, you should not miss out on snorkelling experience at Maya Bay. The underwater world is simply enchanting. Did you know that famous movie “The Beach” featuring Leonardo Di Caprio was filmed in Maya Bay?

Whether it is Thailand, Goa, Maldives, Costa Rica or Tanzania, whenever we travel to a tropical destination, we have come up with a new ritual of spending a few hours at the beach and gazing into the unending ocean.

There is something therapeutic about spending a day at the Maya Bay. You can have a deep and meaningful personal experience if you simply pause, breathe and allow the ocean to communicate with you. It can help you develop a new and refreshing perspective on life. If you allow the waves to whisper in your ears, a few hours spent at the Maya Bay can be one of those experiences that make you look within yourself and seek a deeper meaning in life.

If you are planning to travel to Thailand, we would recommend visiting Maya Bay between the month of November and April to avoid rough tides.
