10 AM  —  SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 fall semester school assembly @ the auditorium
at the semestral assembly, both school dean and student council president speak gently of son jisoo's death. after a brief remembrance and a call for cooperation in the ongoing investigations, the program proceeds. freshmen are welcomed with fanfare and short performances. recognition is awarded to outstanding students across different departments. and finally, the red and green club are called onto the stage—presented as the cream of the crop, the best of the best, shining paragons of talent for all to aspire to.
while they stand on stage, the dean announces the school of visual arts' annual fall exhibit—a highly anticipated, week-long gallery show held at the geumjanhwa gallery every fifteenth of september. a pre-cursor to the mugunghwa arts festival held at the end of fall. every year, students hope and pray for an exhibition space on the floor of the first day.
cheers and groans fill the auditorium as the dean gives each member of the red and green club an exhibition space for the first day. the club, as a whole, receives another day-one exhibition space for a commemorative piece about jisoo. recipients of the remaining four spots are announced before the program concludes.
Tumblr media
event specific info . the exhibit takes place on september 15-19. while the exhibit is ongoing, fairs and booths are set up across the campus by students from all departments. some advertise clubs and programs, while others sell goods and services. you can write about your character manning or visiting these booths. the campus is alive with students practicing for the exhibit. if you would like your character to present at the fall exhibit, message the main blog with the day you would like them to present. there are twelve vacant exhibition spaces each day. students can present a maximum of three days. ic, these exhibits are vetted by teachers. the exhibit is an annual event and joining yields significant grade incentives (even instant A’s), so its likely that visual arts students have been preparing for it as early as last year (of course, there will always be procrastinators). non-visual arts students can present on the last day. day one  . son jiyeon, jung miyoung, nam minjun, kim mina, liu mingze, anikka ‘nika’ chaiyon, song siyeon, the red and green club, vacant, vacant, vacant, vacant day two  . day three  .   day four .   day five  .  han junjae/lee muyeol
this is optional. feel free to write about your character’s exhibit. what are they presenting? what media are they using? what do most people think of it? you can also post pictures, edits, playlists or any media you prefer. you can also write about the process they went through to get to the exhibit, either in threads or solos. was their initial work rejected for presentation, or was it smooth sailing all the way? where did they get their inspiration?
check on your art major friends! they probably won’t be sleeping for the first two weeks of the semester.
Tumblr media
ooc info . plot drops, covering specific scenarios and involving specific characters, will be posted at random times. a plot drop about the exhibit will be posted later on. tag event-related posts with #mguacti. it’s possible i missed some details, so if you have any questions just ask!

if you had the feeling that you were being watched, it wouldn’t be too far off base. a middle-aged man with handsome features has his eye on you, and the moment you make eye contact he decides to approach.
“excuse me,” there’s something pleasant about the man’s demeanor despite what might be classified as rather unsettling behavior; he doesn’t seem like a threat, that’s for certain. “sorry if this is a bit strange, but my name is kim muyeol. i’m actually a talent scout for sr media. oh, here,” the man rummages around, reaching to the inside pocket of his jacket and pulling out a sleek business card printed with the purple logo. it certainly looks legit.
he gives you a moment to read the card, perhaps to verify that this is actually real and he’s not just some weirdo approaching young adults on the streets.
“you’re very good looking, did you know that? i’m not saying that looks are the only factor that goes into being a successful idol, but it certainly does help. do you have any interest in singing and dancing? with a little training, you could have a very successful career,”
kim muyeol clears his throat, and pulls out his phone. he scrolls through and taps through to his calendar, confirming that he has his dates and times correct. “we’re having closed auditions this weekend at sr media. i think our evaluators would love to see you attend. don’t worry too much about it, if you want to go. we’re not looking for someone who’s already perfect, then you’d have nothing left to learn. no, i think you’ve probably heard, but our ceo really loves cultivating hidden talent. even very deeply hidden talent.”
“are you interested? i’ll take your name and email down so i can send you all of the details. like i said, it’s this weekend. it can take all day, so i recommend clearing your plans.”
after exchanging information with the talent scout, kim muyeol flashes you a bright grin. it seems like everyone who works for sr media is gorgeous. “i would tell you good luck, but i’m not sure you’ll need it. i have high hopes for you! i just hope our evaluators see it too.”
with that, he bids you farewell and you part ways for now.

To sum up, it is true that Kim Pu-sik was a Mohwaist who deeply admired Chinese culture personally, but it is difficult to see him as a flunkeyist. As a scholar, Kim Pu-sik has the aspect of Mowhaism as a master of Confucianism, but as a politician, Kim Pu-shik was a realist. If Myocheong is an idealist who seeks to regain our old land by attacking the Jin Dynasty, Kim Bu-sik is a realistic opponent who seeks to gain national interest by improving relations with the Jin Dynasty, since there is no advantage in turning the Jin Dynasty, which is currently being created with Goryeo's national power, into an enemy. It was an autonomist.[35]
Therefore, it is more correct to view the confrontation between Myocheong and Kim Pusik as a battle between idealism and realism rather than a battle between great and great sages. Since Sadaejuism and Mohwaism are often combined to form Sadaemohwa, both are often used interchangeably, but the two must be distinguished. Although Kim Bu-sik was a mohwaist, he was not an obstinate flunkeyist like Samhaksa, who insisted on serving the Chinese dynasty even if the country was ruined. If not, they might have agreed to attack Geum for Song. Considering that King Gyeongsun returned to Goryeo and became King of Nakrang, Kim Bu-sik's title was after the founding of Nak-rang-gun, so when Kim Bu-sik was alive, he was a member of the same Gyeongju Kim family as King Gyeongsun. It can be seen that it has been recognized, and it is described as such in Goryeosa and Wikipedia.
The question of Kim Pu-shik's ancestors came about because the ancestors and descendants of Kim Pu-shik disappeared in history, and the genealogical relationship could not be verified. Kim Pu-shik's lineage can only be accurately traced to two generations of his ancestors and two generations of his descendants below.
So, on the one hand, it is also seen that Kim Bu-shik is the Gyeongju Kim clan, which is not directly related to the royal family of Silla in lineage. Kim Bu-sik's great-grandfather, Kim Wi-young, was the influential member of the group remaining in Gyeongju when Silla was destroyed and Geumseong was reorganized into Gyeongju, and several nobles followed King Gyeongsun to Gaegyeong. However, the origin of this person named Kim Wi-yeong is unknown. Since he is from Gyeongju, it is highly likely that he is of Silla descent, but it may not necessarily be a family of the King of Silla. Representatively, there is the Kim Hae Kim Clan, a descendant of Gaya Kim Yushin. Also, even in the lineage of Silla kings, the Gyeongju Kim clan is not the only one. In addition to the Gyeongju Kim clan, there are the Gangneung Kim clan, the Buan Kim clan, and the Tongcheon Kim clan.[36]
Kim Gun-soo, the grandson of Kim Bu-sik, wrote a poem called Dongdo Gaek-gwan, where he called himself a descendant of King Muyeol of Taejong. Professor Shin Hyung-shik's book, , explains that even at the time of the founding of Goryeo, King Muyeol's line withdrew to Gangneung and its power was in a state of decline, so it had nothing to do with Gyeongju.
However, since King Wonseong, King Wonseong, the middle founder of the late Silla Dynasty, was a descendant of King Muyeol through his mother's family, King Muyeol's lineage itself continued in Gyeongju. Contrary to the importance of paternal ancestors in the Joseon Dynasty, the inheritance culture of the Shilla and Goryeo periods complexly inherited the right to the lineage of both parents. First of all, based on the Samguk sagi, the patrilineal lineage of the Park family was cut off at the Adala Isageum Dynasty, but there is also a case of King Sindeok who became king again through the Park family lineage at the end of Silla. However, while women with matrilineal lineages are easily found in both the Silla and Goryeo periods, the case of men is still unclear and is in the realm of presumption, so it cannot be affirmed.
Apart from this, Goryeosa, the official official librarian of the Joseon Dynasty, specified that Kim Bu-shik was the head of Silla through a biography of Kim Bu-il, the second older brother of Kim Bu-il. Its ancestor is Silla Jongseong (新羅宗姓). Since King Taejo first played Gyeongju and made Kim Wi-yeong (金魏英) the captain, he is the great-grandson of Buil. His father, Kim Geun (金覲), served as the godfather of the Gukjwa Jeju-jwa. His siblings are four, the eldest son being Kim Bu-pil (金富弼), the next Kim Bu-il (金 福佾), the next Kim Bu-shik (金 富 軾), and the next Kim Bu's (金 福儀). However, as mentioned above, doubts remain because Kim Bu-shik's great-grandfather, Kim Wi-yeong, did not reveal which Silla king's great-grandson he was. Or, there is a possibility that Kim Bu-il's family was specified as the head of Silla just because they were Kim.
If you look at the biography of Kimbu in Goryeosa, it is said that in the past, Kimbu accidentally found a Silla seal with 'Cheongdangjiin' written on it at his house. Cheongdang means Cheonggeumseodang[38] among the 9 Seodang organized in the capital of Silla[37], and looking at this record, it seems correct that the Kim brothers lived in Gyeongju.
In conclusion, it can be said that Pusik Kim's main building was Gyeongju at least when he was alive. The question about Kim Pu-shik's main building is closer to the question of his relationship with the royal family of Silla, rather than whether or not he is from the Gyeongju Kim clan.

The 30th king of Silla. His father was King Muyeol, the 29th King Taejong, and his mother was Queen Myeonghwa, the younger sister of Kim Yushin. His younger brother was Kim In-moon, and his younger sister Ji-so's wife was Kim Yu-shin's wife. His queen was the queen of Jai. Another sister of hers, Kim Kota-so, was the wife of Kim Pum-seok, and as you know, she died early in the Battle of Daeyaseong.
To sum up King Munmu in one sentence, he is the ruler who made it possible for Silla to remain as the final victor after destroying Baekje and Goguryeo and then winning an all-out war against the Tang Dynasty, which was once an ally. In a word, as a leader who completed the unification of the three kingdoms of Silla, he is well evaluated in history because he not only completed the unification of the three kingdoms but also had achievements in preventing foreign invasion.
He was active in both civil and martial arts from the time he was crown prince until after he ascended the throne, and the king's name also became 'King Munmu' (文武王). In a word, a master of slash-and-burn tactics. The final victory in the all-out war against the Tang Dynasty, a world empire with enormous national power, was largely due to the excellent strategy of King Munmu, who freely used slash-and-burn tactics. I have a volume of records. As you can see from the above, the amount of records is very large. Among the kings of Silla, no, among all the kings of the Three Kingdoms period recorded in the Samguk Sagi, the number of records is TOP. The quantity is so large that it surpasses most of the kings of the Goryeo Dynasty, who came a long time later. It would have been a blessing to those who like history if there were only as many records of kings in Korea's ancient history as King Munmu.
In reality, unfortunately, there are only 7 records left during the 39-year reign like King Gaeru of Baekje, or there are many more whose names are not properly conveyed like many kings of Gojoseon, Samhan, Buyeo, and Gaya.
As a bonus, among the kings recorded in 《Samguk Sagi》, the king of Goguryeo has the most records of King Bojang, and Baekje is surprisingly the progenitor of King Onjo, a monk of Silla in the middle of the Three Kingdoms Period. He is one of the ten saints of Silla as a high priest in the ancient Korean Buddhist world, who is a pair with Uisang, a high priest who was active at the same time. He is famous for his skull water anecdote, and despite his apostasy, he is an indispensable genius in Korean Buddhism as well as in Korean ancient history, philosophy, and ideology. He was proficient in three studies and was highly regarded in Silla to the extent that Wonhyo was described as an intellectual of all people.
He spent most of his life during the unification of the Three Kingdoms and saw the birth of a unified Silla. He advocated the idea of reconciliation, emphasizing the spirit of unity as well as popularization of Buddhism. Originally, it was known that it was influenced by Chinese Samron Studies [3], but claims that it was actually influenced by Baekje Samron Studies came to the fore. The basis is Baekje's Mahayana Saron Hyeonuigi (大乘四論玄義記) compiled at the end of the 6th century, and there is an evaluation that it closely resembles the thoughts of Baekje monk Hyegyun (慧均). It shows that ideological integration preceded the unification of the three kingdoms and that Wonhyo laid the foundation.
It is said that the Bunhwangsa Temple has a statue of Wonhyo Hoego made by attaching clay to Wonhyo's ashes. Unfortunately, Bunhwangsa Temple was burnt down when the Mongolian army set fire to Gyeongju during the Yumong War in the mid-Goryeo Dynasty, and it is said to have been destroyed at that time. If it had remained until now, it would have been a valuable relic that shows the details of Wonhyo's life.
Instead, the portrait at the top of the document remains. The portraits of Wonhyo and Uisang are kept in the Gozanji Temple in Kyoto, Japan, and are preserved to the present day. These paintings were copied by Myoe[4], a monk from the Kamakura period in Japan, after seeing the original portraits of the Silla period out of respect for Wonhyo, a pioneer in Buddhism. Now that the Silla original is lost, Myoe's imojak is considered to be the closest portrait to the Wonhyo faction of the time.

✰ Take a Chance #1: Seojun auditions at Sr Media ✰
looking over the business card that he was handed, seojun honestly never thought he would have been approached by a talent scout. sr media? he had heard of that place before as well as some of the group that came from it. it was an honor to him just getting approached by someone like the older male.
hearing a compliment should have been expected but the dancer never seemed to be able to handle compliments no matter who they came from. he just nodded and listened, a curious glint in his eyes. his face seemed to light up once hearing about singing and dancing. he prided himself on dancing and would make sure to brush up on his singing whenever he could. he even tried his best to get better at coming up with his own choreography as well as easily following any dances he studied. it was a lot but he was serious when it came to dancing.
auditions. he didn’t think he’d get the chance to audition for a company just yet and there was no way he was going to miss this chance. instantly he gave kim muyeol his information, trying to calm down the giddy feeling that hit him. he wasn’t going to get his hopes up too much but he was eager to show the evaluators his all. the words from the other actually made him feel more confident, knowing he was going to go to sleep thinking about auditioning.
the day the audition arrived, seojun could feel the nervous feeling that hit him instantly. his hands started to get clammy as he stepped inside the building. it was all different than he expected but he was impressed, so in awe with everything he saw. he checked in as soon as he could, looking over the forms carefully to make sure he filled out everything correctly. he didn’t want to lie on anything since they could easily find out and he wasn’t one who liked lying. It never sat well with him. once done, the dancer gave back the ipad and nodded his head once he got his assigned number. following the directions to the waiting room, he sat among the others as he did some deep breathing exercising to calm himself down. doing his best was what mattered and he was going to be forever grateful that he caught the eye of someone to get invited to audition. he’d remember this forever even if he didn’t get the chance to make his dream a reality yet.
once he got the chance to line up at the door, he felt his heart racing again. soon it would be his turn alongside nine others and he didn’t know how anything would go. his hand touched the usb he had in his pocket, making sure it was still there and hadn’t fallen out of his pocket randomly. he didn’t think he would do as well without the music in the background to dance and sing to. he hadn’t practiced doing acapella since high school so he wasn’t as confident in that yet.
filing into the next room, the pounding of his heart caused his ears to ring. could anyone else hear it? was his heart being too loud? he took a few deep breaths as he calmed himself instead letting the excitement hit him again. he followed the instructions for his photos, making sure to smile where his dimple showed. he was good at wearing a smile plus he saved his more “crazy” expressions for when he was fully into dancing.
his eyes immediately took in the evaluators once they went to the next room, praying he didn’t make a fool of himself. he knew once he was in the zone with performing, the nerves went away. he had made sure to stretch earlier so he wouldn’t pull anything and now he just had to hope that they liked what he did. he had given the usb to one of the staff members earlier and he was recalling the choreography in his mind as he waited for his turn. his eyes watched as the few before him took their turns auditioning, some getting cut off early. Once his turn came, he instantly introduced himself by name as well as the number he was given earlier. once eye on you played (2:10 - 3:10), seojun was fully in his element as he danced and sang like his life depended on it. the last time he got to dance was during a busking event he participated in with his little dance crew. singing on the other hand, this was the first time he had sung in front of someone who wasn’t his family and friends. sure he’s scared but he focuses on letting the song envelop him and conveying the emotions with his voice as well as with his feet and body. it felt different, freeing honestly, almost like he was just dancing and singing at university or with friends. he wasn’t worried just knowing he was enjoying himself.
once his 60 seconds were up, he could feel the adrenaline that was running through him as he felt his heart racing from the dancing he did. his mind didn’t register the other performances but hearing a question from the evaluators had him thinking. why do you want to be apart of sr media? honestly, why did he? he knew exactly why he wanted to be apart of a company and just went with what his heart wanted him to say instead of taking up time to think of a different response. “honestly, i know that the ceo here loves getting to cultivate hidden talent and getting to be shaped in a way to be the best idol possible. i feel with any talent that i have, it will be shaped into making me even better than i was. plus i’m always eager to learn more and perfect my skills as well as learn new ones to be the best idol possible to show off the pride of the company.” he gives a smile after speaking, feeling proud of himself with his audition as well as with being able to speak without overthinking.
after being dismissed and leaving the building, seojun couldn’t help but wonder how things would go after this. he honestly hopes he made a good impression on the evaluators there even if he doesn’t get the chance to be a trainee and become one step closer to his dream. he knew he’d still practice dancing as well as singing to make sure both skill were even better. it was his passion and he knew at the end of the day, even getting noticed like this could do a lot. for now he’d not worry too much and instead focus on another dance cover for people to enjoy. it would keep him from letting his mind overthink about things that didn’t even happen. whatever happened though, he was proud of himself and that’s all that mattered at the end of the day.
