Day 12 Fredericton Summer Artist Residency, Killarney lake. I got myself settled in the brook today and it was not long before i was packing up to the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance, which alerted me to a severe thunderstorm watch. The storm never did happen. So I will be back down there over the weekend to work on finishing up this large landscape. It was such a lovely experience to paint in the park each day for the Fredericton Summer Artist Residency! It set me on a good momentum for painting all summer long! Day 8 Fredericton Summer Artist Residency. I was able to get down to the brook today for some work on this large 36”x48” painting. Today marks the beginning of my second, and final week painting at Killarney Lake Park. Every day I’ve been on the trail loop, chatting with park users of all ages and it is really such a pleasure! I will post the time and location that I expect to be in the park each day this week. For half of my time, approximately 2 hours, I plan to paint small observational studies within 200 meters of the Killarney lodge trail access, to the to the right along the lake. I hope this location is accessible to more people. For the second half of my day, i will be painting down in the brook trail. My sign is on the main trail pointing the way. Many have been venturing down, delighted to find me, however this trail is not accessible to everyone. It is a somewhat steep slope with some debris on the way down, so please be cautious. If you can’t come down the trail, you can shout a Hello from atop the trail. Day 1 Fredericton Summer Artist Residency at Killarney Lake @fredtourism. My goal today was to find the location that will inspire a large 36”x48” painting. I hiked a good section of trails before the rain fall. I ultimately found my spot in the shade down along the brook on the marked snow shoe trail. You may find me sketching each day to warm up along the lake trail near the lodge. My sign will be pointing in the direction of my shaded location off the main trail. Come say hello.
