Make It or Break It
I’m rewatching Make It or Break It, at the age of 24, literally loved this show. Now that i’m older watching it this show had so many things wrong with it morally. 😂😂
Emily was supposed to be THE main character but honestly and truly, I really don’t enjoy her character at all. Payson and Kaylie are my favs.
LAUREN.... freaking Lauren. Even when I was younger I didn’t like her character but OHMYGOSH, I actually hate her. There’s no way you can redeem yourself IRL after all the terrible things she’s done to literally EVERYONE. Realistically, I can’t believe they even let the other characters keep forgiving her so many times. Like i’m not sure how they didn’t beat her ass every time she breathed.

Flashback Friday this week to one of my all-time favorite teen dramas from ABC Family / Freeform, Make It or Break It. The drama, the costumes, the look into one of the most elite and demanding youth sports, with actual gymnastics tricks performed by college gymnast stunt doubles! What's not to love? (per usual, a lot of cattiness and slut shaming, and an unrealistic teen pregnancy plot, but that goes with the genre).
I love this show because I'm obsessed with teen dramas and also the gymnastics world, so put them together and you've got me hooked. I come back to it again and again.
Other bonuses include Peri Gilpin (Ros from Frazier) as the badass mom of one of the main characters (apparently her illegitimate daughter grew up to be an Olympic gymnast, but no one seems to have told Payson -- geez that name -- that her "Dad" isn't her biological father), and a very young Amanda Leighton (Emma from The Fosters) as Wendy in season three (apparently Emma moved to CA and settled for wrestling after she got booted from the US gymnastics team at 14).
