Harvest moon-Rhink fic

"Everythangs gonna be alright baby"

"Rhett..ive got a secret"

"Whats that brother?"

"My hearts been hurt a couple times," "oh yh, what she done this time man?"

"Not she, he.."

"He?"

"Yeh man, he.. whats it to ya?"

"Nothing man, aint even surprised, were lying on the top of our truck hood under the stars, aint got a care if youre saying youre gay to me right now man"

"I gotta be honest"

"Ya your secret is kept here man, u gonna be ok?"

"Yeh man, we can still be friends"

"I dont wana be friends"

"Why?"

"Cause I wanna be... i wana be the most closest to ya man"

"Youre gonna be ok if i start seeing someone new?"

"Did ya even hear me?" Rhett says leaning on an elbow.

"Ya youre saying you love me.."

"No i aint man.. youre thinkin bout him.."

"Yeh i am"

"Who is he, do i know him?"

"Yeh you know him well.."

Rhett smiles into the dark. "Well thats ok man, at least he aint a stranger"

"If i aint never lost her, i'd have never found you, brother"

"Me, you just stopped my whole world turning..me?"

"If youre gonna break my heart just break it, Rhett.."

Link gets up from lying on the car

Rhett says nothing. The stars twinkling down on them both.

"I..i aint gonna" rhett leans in closer to Link, theyre both at the tender age of being a teen. Link stays stoic his heart gently pattering. Meanwhile Rhett's is a mile a minute. After the longest silence. Link smiles over at him. "You dont long how long i have been waiting.." Rhett says and grips Link's hand. "Everyone i have trusted has broke my heart.." link says and sniffs. "Dang..I wouldnt do that man" Rhett says "i'll be there for you always, i promice you baby" rhett says. link says "thankyou, I trust you man" "thankyou bo I trust you too" then a song comes on the radio. "You wana dance?" link says sliding off the hood and offering his hand to the taller man. "Sure, that's a sweet offering"

Rhett says and takes his hand and suddendly theyre in their 40s, he slides down the hood. Its a slow song, very gentle and slow. They dance. Then slide their lips together. The kiss is unexpected. Theyre light on their feet as it overtakes them. Then Its beginning to rain. So they hop into the truck.. Link moves on top of Rhett and they're giggling. "Ya make it easy to love you" Link says taking Rhett's calloused fingers in his own. "Ya saying ya love me?" Rhett is serious with his tone. "Ya man I do love ya" ❤ "I love you, man" Link replies and they kiss again under the bright full moon after the midnight rain passes.
