do you read the leaks/fanscans or do you wait until the official release?

I absolutely follow the leaks, yes! How much I dive into anything beyond that—fans translating the leaked panels, the full chapter scanlations, tag-diving to see what other people are saying, etc.—depends on how much I care about the content of the chapter based on the leaks.

If the leaks make me annoyed or leave me with a big shrug emoji—as has been distressingly common in this closing arc—I'll often just wait for the Viz release. On the other hand, If the chapter seems to deal with characters and plots I really care about (or I just want to rubberneck at the fan response), I'll be much more proactive about following the pre-release material.

I do prefer to keep my first reactions restricted to my friend group because I know that the leaks—especially the text descriptions, good god—can be misleading, as can the fanscans. At most, I'll jot a few notes down for things I particularly want to talk about once I have the official release to compare to.

Which is all to say, if you were concerned about this, anon, that I'm not in the faintest degree worried about getting spoiled via asks, so if you or any of my followers want to squee or yell or just ask for an opinion on a particular detail, the ask box is open. I definitely don't promise I'll get to the ask before my chapter response post, though, so I'm not likely to be much good for leak-night conversations.
