i. knowing just how much of tease yoruichi-sama could be there were often times that shunsui would offer solace in his barracks to the young frustrated prodigy. there he would try to relax the boy with offerings of tea or simply meditating next to him, the smell of incense lingering in the air. a calming, safe space.
ii. shunsui has many regrets, one that plagues him was the fact he did nothing to rescue his brothers wife from the sōkyoku. he did not want byakuya or anyone to suffer that same fate and bear the burden of such guilt. believing fully that if rukia was killed that night, byakuya would have carried her death on his shoulders for the rest of his life.
iii. at times when byakuya was in a particularly foul mood, shunsui would often ask jushiro to check in on the captain. long ago, shunsui had noticed jushio was the best at calming the frayed nerves of the seemingly cold // distant captain.
headcanon ask. ( selectively accepting, these take me a while yikes! )
