Pondering Ghosts are Dragons, and just rotating each design in my head I have for them. That is the ghosts we see in the show more than just once or twice lol. Just pondering each of them and potential types and descriptions and how the people of Amity see them, as they’re used to the dragons around, vs say someone from Outside, crossover or no, who are Not used to the maybe slightly eldritch undeath interdimensional dragons around everywhere.

That is not normal for other people.

To the Amity Parkers? Boxy is simply a chonky dragon with small boxy wings and covered in blue scales. To people just coming into the city, it’s like seeing a giant komodo dragon when you’re just walking home- not something you exactly want to see and something that is dangerous.

Kitty’s and Johnny’s weekly relationship tussle? Par for the course really. But to visitors? Two giant wyverns tearing into each other, shimmering greens that could be scales, could be tendrils, and shadows lengthening and thrashing like a living beast all its own.

And this is just the small dragonlings, not even beginning with larger ones like Pandora and Fright Knight, chill as they may be.

Outsiders don’t understand that they’re more than just animals. Amity is used to this, but people who have no clue what’s going on? They don’t.

They call the police, the heroes, the government, for help, for answers. And that? That the GIW can use.

HI THERE. It's been a minute, sorry about that lol. I took a tiny out-of-nowhere and sorta involuntary break from the fandom because I lost interest for a second, but I'm slowlyyyy making my way back. With art, and some news about Tone Deaf for the people who are still wondering about that.

As stated, I momentarily lost a bit of interest with this movie- partially because I've recently been ensnared in a new fixation that will not be named right now, but yeah. I'm digging my heels in rn, because the last thing I wanna do is abandon this project. But, also, I've clearly bitten off more than I can chew with this being a comic lmao. In over my head and going through all 5 stages of grief and currently on acceptance.

The story got bigger. Like, a LOT bigger. Too big to capture every thought in a drawing and panel it and put it out as a perfectly polished comic without seriously burning myself out. It really doesn't help that my art style evolves by the second too apparently, so I've reached a middle-ground:

Tone Deaf is going to be a fic with some comic-like segments in it. An illustrated fanfic bc I still love showing and not telling a little too much.

This'll help me not only get stuff out faster, but also to help me fill in the gaps I didn't know how to draw with just text. So I can focus on just drawing the juicy shit. This also means it'll all be collected over on Ao3 in a neat little package, and I honestly prefer that over having a bunch of posts of pages that might be hard to find. So yeah, that's the plan.

Another bonus is that the frames can now be a lot more polished and nice looking [in glorious color] rather than hastily mashed together due to my bad habit of going overboard on singular frames without realizing it.

Tldr; Tone Deaf is technically still gonna be a comic, it's just now gonna be supplemented with word-based fic mixed in because I made the project way too fucking big [the first Act has like 20 chapters I'm going to literally die]. Also it's gonna be on Ao3 and I'll probably be posting all the art here alongside any updates I make so huzzah! Help me :>

Hey why is it so much easier to add SO MUCH EXTRA DETAIL to art than it is to simplify art

I get the feeling I'm gonna really enjoy DMing because one thing about me is I love talking and I love describing things in way more detail than needed. Like as a player I'm always kinda worried about being too flowery and taking up too much time describing what my characters do and coming off as pretentious but as a DM it's like huzzah!!! It is my job to describe scenes and plot setups and the way NPCs move and act to give the players enough detail to get a sense of all their options and to get a good read on other people's intentions when talking to them!! This is great!!!!!!

#I've only DMed an itty bitty bit but there was a very very very huge difference between Curse of Strahd and Tomb of Horrors #that being i ADORED DMing CoS because it gave me so much to play with and describe and room to play off of the batshit things my players did #meanwhile i was. very very out of my comfort zone with ToH because there's way less wiggle room to experiment with and be creative about #which like i feel like you probably COULD rewrite it to have more options for solving puzzles but i really don't want to lmao #I'm sure ToH would be great for others but it just was not for me and the more i tried to make it work the more it sucked for me lmao #but like!! i loved Curse of Strahd so much!! and Shemshime's Bedtime Rhyme even though it's really short!!#so i am very excited to try DMing Waterdeep: Dragon Heist bc it seems more up my alley in terms of play style!!#and also i am just insanely hyperfixated on this one fuckin NPC from W:DH so it will be great to actually get to do a thing with her!!!#yippee I'm very excited!!!
