Wait I'm out of the loop what's the tea on the straight guy/lesbian bar situation?? 👀
A straight woman uploaded a Tiktok talking about an incident that happened at a lesbian bar she was invited to by her lesbian friend. She said she and her friend were having a good time until her straight man friend popped in to say hello. According to her, a lesbian came up to them questioning why the straight man was in there and demanding that he leave. In her video the straight woman said she "was nice until she wasn't," questioned what the issue was since she said there were clearly "flamboyantly gay" men in the bar too, and expressed shock at the situation because she never experienced that in gay bars.
A couple days later the lesbian from the story made an account to tell her side of the story - she said it started when she asked the straight guy to move since he was blocking the entrance to the bathroom. He responded rudely, she asked if he was even there with anyone, he gestured to the group but said "would it be a problem if I was here alone" to which she said yeah kind of because it's a lesbian bar lol. She said the straight man and woman started verbally harassing her and it continued outside the bar with them calling her a bitch etc.
Lots of takes were thrown around both before & after the second woman told her side of the story, some good and bad. My comment is about how I noticed that a lot of those takes quickly got away from the specifics of the situation and veered into questionable rhetoric that isn't grounded in the reality of how these irl spaces operate or productive politics, and are more about engaging in the low-hanging fruit of identitarian signaling than anything else
#at the same time it's really not that serious I just keep getting these videos on my fyp#and I don't expect people to be perfect wrt their responses but the way tiktok facilitates a certain type of engagement is fascinating#& it'sfunny to see ppl act like they care so much about the sanctity of a (frankly mid) bar they didn't know existed until a week ago

Oh, but Fan n OJ are rlly good at just,,, telling what they need and are rlly good friends to have around they when Painty is having these moments, they're kinda like translators!!
Painty is already going out of their way to learn ASL (America Sign Language; it's harder than you think!!!) But Fan and OJ are still rlly helpful :)
