LOVE OF MY LIFE
You know when you get an idea from the most random of moments in time? That’s how Love of My Life came to me. Started with one quote, then spiralled into this.
If you saw my Instagram stories on Thursday, you may have gotten a hint. But if you missed it:
Tumblr media
But literally, it started off with this, then I watched the Britain episode of The Final Table and the chef made people work with peas and honestly it just started me down a path that there was no coming back from.
Now before you run away screaming, I promise you: it’s good. It’s so good. I would not steer you wrong, I promise.
But on a more serious note: with everything happening right now I know it’s hard to find the good things, and I know that this is just a silly little cocktail blog based off of Harry Styles songs, but, if you can, please consider donating to support abortion access across the States. (and if you cannot donate, a signal boost is always welcome):
abortionfinder.org
abortionfunds.org
lifebeat.org
plannedparenthoodaction.org
plancpills.org
Thank you again for following along, for your kind words and your support - and I hope you enjoy and don’t run away 😂.  Love you all, thank you again, and enjoy.
TO PREP
Snap Pea, Cantaloupe and Cucumber Juice (aka Green Juice)
*This makes enough for two drinks. If you’re making more than two, simply multiply the amounts by two!
1 cup sugar snap peas, washed
1/2 cup cantaloupe, cubed
1/2 cup cucumber, cubed
1/2 cup water
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until no chunks remain and becomes liquid. Strain the liquid into a bowl using a fine mesh sieve (or if you don’t have one: cheesecloth or a clean kitchen cloth work wonders - so do coffee filters but it takes a little longer) until all you’re left with is pure liquid. Discard the pulp. Refrigerate! (will last in fridge for about a week)
FOR THE DRINK
Glass: Rocks Ice: Crushed. (I put mine in a ziploc bag and just mashed it with a mallet!)
1.5 oz either Vodka or Gin*
0.5 oz St. Germain
3 oz Green Juice
0.5 oz Lemon Juice
0.5 oz simple syrup (or omit if you prefer to not have it sweetened)
2-3 mint leaves
Soda water (optional)
Garnish: mint & sugar snap pea
In shaker, combine both juices, simple syrup and the mint. Muddle gently until mint is fragrant.
Add Vodka, St. Germain and ice. Seal and shake until container is frosty.
Add crushed ice to rocks glass. Strain cocktail carefully over the ice. Top with soda water.
Garnish with mint leaves & a sugar snap pea!
*Vodka is a neutral alcohol so it won’t really bring out of the other flavours other than the vodka. Gin is a great alcohol to bring out the fresh/herbyness of it all. It really is a preference and 100% up to you!
To make it non alcoholic: All the things except the alcohol. Elderflower syrup is optional, but if you can find it, add less (about 0.25 oz) than you would of the liqueur, as it is quite sweet (or if you like the sweet go for it). Shake, strain, top with soda, voila!
And as always: while I am very happy to share my ideas on here: please don’t steal them as your own! Otherwise: enjoy responsibly and send me pictures if you decide to try it!! I track #hscocktailhour!
Happy Saturday! x

Venture into the realm of tropical refreshment with the Lemon Mojito, a playful twist on the classic Mojito that adds a burst of lemony brightness to the beloved minty concoction.
Ingredients:
2 oz white rum 1 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice 0.75 oz simple syrup Fresh mint leaves Soda water Lemon wheel and mint sprig, for garnish Instructions:
In a glass, muddle a handful of fresh mint leaves with the lemon juice and simple syrup. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour in the white rum and stir gently. Top with soda water to your preferred level of fizziness. Garnish with a lemon wheel and a sprig of mint. Immerse yourself in the cool, citrusy delight of the Lemon Mojito. A Symphony of Citrus Creativity
Lemon cocktails encompass a spectrum of flavors, each offering a unique twist on the zesty brilliance of this citrus gem. Whether you're exploring the tangy notes of a Lemon Drop Martini, savoring the robust embrace of a Whiskey Sour, or diving into the tropical allure of a Lemon Mojito, each sip is a harmonious symphony of flavors that dance across your palate.
Lemon's Role in Mixology Mastery
Beyond the exquisite taste, lemons play a crucial role in mixology beyond just providing a burst of flavor. The oils present in lemon peels contribute aromatic depth to cocktails, enhancing the overall sensory experience. A well-placed lemon twist can uplift both the visual and olfactory aspects of a drink, inviting you to immerse yourself fully in the cocktail journey.
Exploring Creative Variations
The beauty of lemon cocktails lies in their adaptability and potential for creativity. Mixologists worldwide have experimented with various ingredients to create exciting variations. From the smoky allure of a Lemon Charcoal Margarita to the floral elegance of a Lavender Lemon Collins, the possibilities are endless, limited only by imagination.
The Art of Balance
Creating a perfectly balanced lemon cocktail is an art that requires an understanding of flavors and an intuition for proportions. Too much lemon juice can overpower the other elements, while too little can lead to a lack of vibrancy. Achieving that harmonious balance is a mark of mixology mastery and is what elevates a good cocktail to a memorable experience.
Embracing the Citrus Symphony
Lemon cocktails are a celebration of life's zest – a fusion of flavors that tickle the senses and ignite the spirit. From the classics that have stood the test of time to innovative concoctions that push the boundaries of mixology, lemon-infused libations offer a kaleidoscope of taste experiences.
So, whether you find yourself drawn to the timeless elegance of a Lemon Drop Martini, the robust embrace of a Whiskey Sour, or the tropical allure of a Lemon Mojito, remember that each sip is an invitation to indulge in the symphony of flavors that lemons bring to the world of mixology. Raise your glass to the tangy brilliance of lemons, and let their vibrant essence elevate your cocktail experience to new heights of delight. Cheers to the zest-filled journey ahead!

Summer Cocktails
If you are a non-alcoholic person, this is not the article for you. Here are some cocktails that are especially nice in the warm weather. They feature tequila, vodka, rum, rye, and gin, separately, of course.
Paloma (Spanish for Dove)
This is a Mexican drink that includes one of the country’s soft drinks, Jarritos brand. If you can’t find grapefruit flavored soft drinks, you can use grapefruit juice but add some club soda or sparkling water for the fizz. Some people like seasoned salt on the rim.
Ingredients:
2 ounces tequila
½ ounce lime juice
grapefruit soft drink
lime wheel or wedge for garnish
salt for glass rim
Directions:
Coat rim of a highball glass with lime juice; then dip it in a saucer of salt (or sugar)
Combine tequila and lime juice; add ice
Top off with grapefruit soft drink
Garnish with lime wheel or wedge
Cucumber Basil Lime Gimlet
Using cucumber from your own garden makes this even more appealing. Actually, the cuke contains antioxidants, Vitamin K, magnesium, and potassium, so you are drinking healthily.
Ingredients:
cucumber cut into ¼ inch slices
2 small leaves fresh basil
1 ½ ounces vodka
1 ounce lemonade
¼ ounce lime juice
basil leaf for garnish
ice
Directions:
Put cucumber and basil in a shaker and muddle
Add lemonade, vodka, and lime juice
Add ice and shake until chilled
Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice
Garnish with basil leaf.
Dark ‘n Stormy
This drink was originated just after World War I and came to us via Bermuda. It is just like a Moscow mule, except that it uses rum in lieu of vodka.
Ingredients:
2 ounces dark run
3 ounces ginger beer
Ice cubes
Lime for garnish
Directions:
Fill a highball glass with ice
Pour in ginger beer
Add rum
Garnish with lime wedge on the side of the glass
Ginger Ale Highball
This one is pretty easy to understand. It gets its name from the glass it is served in and the mix. Acceptable variations include your choice of alcohol, although most suggest rye, and the amount of soft drink to dilute it.
Ingredients:
1 ½ ounces whiskey
Generous splash of ginger ale or lemon-lime soft drink
Directions:
Gather the ingredients and fill a highball glass with ice
Add whiskey
Splash of ginger ale or soft drink
Stir gently
Bramble
With all the fresh berries throughout the summer, you can easily substitute whatever is in season, but you might want to consider varying the liquor to enhance the particular fruit. It is a crowd pleaser because of its ombre (gradation of color) from clear at the top to deep purple at the bottom.
Ingredients:
2 ounces gin
1 ounce lemon juice
2 teaspoons simple syrup
½ ounce Creme de Mure
lemon for garnish
fresh berries for garnish
mint for garnish, optional
Directions:
Place gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker
Shake well until everything is very cold
Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass
Trickle Creme de Mure over the top
Garnish with fresh berries, lemon, and mint

128th Presidential Ball Drink Menu Part 2
Magna Mater (by Leo)
In times of great suffering and happenings that would foretell an Empire's downfall, a foreign god was adopted to aid the people in their attempts to save their city and themselves. The Great Mother was eventually declared their protector. This drink starts off with a kick, a strong taste that eventually gets softened by a taste of berries, much like the sufferings of the people were softened by the mercy of Magna Mater.
God of Death (by Helen)
His dark drink combines vodka, blue curaçao liqueur, and black raspberry liqueur to remind those who drink it of Pluto's temple, tucked away in the necropolis, the city of the dead; the doorway to the underworld. It's topped with a flower reminiscent of asphodel, the flower of the underworld.
Adonis (by Cowboy)
A base of gin and pomegranate juice with a splash of cointreau. Sweetened with rosemary syrup and honey. The drink is a brilliant, muddled red. A sprig of rosemary pokes out of the martini glass as a garnish. Small sugar crystals line the rim of the glass, and a white ribbon is tied to it's stem, for no other purpose than aesthetics.
Pomona's Harvest (by Cowboy)
Carbonated, fresh, and served over ice. This mocktail is perfect for summer nights. Pear juice and sparkling water muddled with mint and tarragon, strained. Balanced with simple syrup. Then garnished with fresh mint, a lime wheel, a slice of pear, skewed on a toothpick in descending order of size, and placed on the glass.
Dionysus’s Wine (by Hair)
Sparkling wine is combined with black absinthe and a touch of simple syrup to create a sweet cocktail that tastes like licorice. It is sure to drive anyone a little mad.
Cupid Spritz (by Mags) This mix of champagne, orange juice, prickly pear syrup, and club soda is refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness that makes it doomed to go down easy and be over too soon.
Basilisk's Bite (by Mags)
This cocktail is sickly sweet and then packs a sour punch that no one expects. It's made by combining equal parts Midori and vodka that's been soaking in sour gummy snakes, cut with lemon juice and poured over just a touch of grenadine that bleeds up from the bottom of the glass, where its nestled with gummy snakes. The glass is adorned with a maraschino cherry. By the time you realize how strong it is, it's already too late.

Planning to stay back at home and make your own cocktail and avoid expensive pubs?
Tumblr media
You have just got the answer! Here are a few amazing cocktail recipes:-
Screwdriver
ABOUT THE Drink The beauty of the Screwdriver lies in the cocktail’s simplicity. Combining orange juice and vodka in a highball glass is about as easy as a cocktail gets and creates a base that’s ripe for experimentation. The Screwdriver is a classic drink that has been designated an International Bartender Association official cocktail. The history of the Screwdriver is somewhat debatable, even though the mention of it in literature goes back to 1949. Some claim that the drink was first made popular by American aviators. Another origin story claims that it was made popular by American oil workers who dubbed the drink the Screwdriver because they mixed it first with a screwdriver when a spoon was not on hand. HOW TO MAKE THE SCREWDRIVER COCKTAIL Add the vodka into a highball glass over ice. Top with the orange juice.
PROFILE
Flavor: Fruity/Citrus-forward sweet Base Spirit: Vodka
Cocktail Type: Classics
Served: On the Rocks
Strength: Medium
Difficulty: Simple
Hours: Afternoon Evening Morning/Brunch
Brands: Absolut
MOJITO
About the Drink It's a very refreshing drink for hot summer days. Be careful when drinking it, however. If you make a pitcher you might be tempted to drink the whole thing yourself, and you just might find yourself talking Spanish in no time! Tonic water can be substituted instead of the soda water but the taste is different and somewhat bitter. How to make the Mojito Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.
Profile
10 fresh mint leaves
1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
1 cup of ice cubes
1 1/2 fluid ounces white rum
1/2 cup club soda
Sex On The Beach
About the Drink A refreshing cocktail of Vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry, and orange juice. It can be served over ice as a drink or strained into a shot or martini glass. How to make the Sex On The Beach Fill a highball glass with ice, pour in the vodka and peach schnapps, then fill a glass with half orange juice and half cranberry juice.
Profile
1 fluid ounce vodka
1 fluid ounce peach schnapps
3 fluid ounces orange juice
3 fluid ounces cranberry juice
The Long Island Ice Tea (LIIT)
About the Drink There are a few imposters out there that claim to be Long Island Iced Teas. In actuality, there is only one correct way to make a LIIT... and this is it! How to make The Long Island Ice Tea Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec, and sour mix over ice; cover and shake. Pour cocktail into a Collins or hurricane glass; top with a splash of cola for color. Garnish with a lemon slice.
Profile
1/2 fluid ounce vodka
1/2 fluid ounce rum
1/2 fluid ounce gin
1/2 fluid ounce tequila
1/2 fluid ounce triple sec (orange-flavored liqueur)
1 fluid ounce sweet and sour mix
1 fluid ounce cola, or to taste
1 lemon slice
Kamikaze
About the Drink It doesn't get much simpler--or easier to remember--than the recipe for the kamikaze cocktail. Equal parts lime juice, triple sec, and vodka are shaken over ice and served straight up." How to make the Kamikaze Combine lime juice, triple sec, and vodka in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, cover and shake until chilled. Strain into a chilled short glass or cocktail glass.
Profile
1/2 fluid ounce lime juice
1/2 fluid ounce triple sec
1/2 fluid ounce vodka
1 cup ice

11 Mixers That Make Alcohol Healthier
Full disclosure: Alcohol ranks pretty low on the scale of healthy things to put in your body. Not to get all preachy, but it contains calories that don't fill you up, it lowers your inhibitions which means you end up eating more, it dehydrates you and also causes you to retain water so you sense bloated and puffy, and it takes up so much of your liver's attention that the organ stops metabolizing unwanted fat efficiently.
Of course none of that makes drinking any less fun - or makes you want to skip happy hour. To mitigate the harmful effects of your buzz, choose mixers that don't just make alcohol more palatable, but proceed one step additional to make your drink a bit healthier.
Read about Liquor Delivery Toronto, Dial a Bottle, and much more.

1. Sparkling Water (About 4 ounces): Free of calories and artificial ingredients, sparkling water beats regular soda and most juices, which contain loads of sugars and excess calorie consumption. Even if you prefer wine to hard alcohol, you can add a splash of soda drinking water to your glass to increase the volume of your drink without adding extra calories to it. Tastes great with: 1 ounce vodka (about 4/5 of a standard shot cup) and a splash of cranberry juice (not cocktail) and offer over ice.
2. Popular Sauce (About 2 dashes): The spicy stuff can give your beverage a kick without contributing many calorie consumption. While booze tends to increase your urge for food, a super-spicy cocktail can minimize the damage by increasing your metabolism and speeding up digestion, Dr. Cederquist says. Tastes good with: 1 ounce vodka and 4 ounces tomato fruit juice. Function over ice.
3. Jalapeños (About ½ a pepper, diced): Like warm sauce, sizzling jalapeños can increase your body's heat range, which makes your body work additional hard to keep its awesome. While Dr. Cederquist says you'd have to eat an extra large serving to reap considerable benefits, this ingredient can, at least in theory, temporarily boost your metabolism to help the body process calories more efficiently. (And that's more than you can say for an extra-big helping of straight-up tequila.) Tastes great with: 1 ounce tequila, 1 ounce fresh lime juice, and 1 teaspoon or packet of glucose. Shake with ice and strain to serve.
4. Lemon Juice (1 ounce): Unlike lemonade, a squeeze of straight-up citrus contributes juicy flavor for half as many calories and far less sugar, ounce for ounce. Tastes good with: 1 ounce gin, 1 teaspoon or even packet of sugars (which is less than the amount of sugar inside lemonade), 1 ounce sparkling water. Assist over ice.
5. Lime Fruit juice (1 ounce): Fresh lime fruit juice is a wonderful source of vitamin C, an essential nutrient and antioxidant that can make a cold suck less by shortening its size and severity. Because alcoholic beverages can reduce your ability to battle off infections for up to 24 hours after you obtain drunk, you can use all the help you can get. Tastes great with: 1 ounce white colored rum, mint leaves, 1 teaspoon or packet of stevia (or another organic sweetener), and soda water.
6. Watermelon (4 ounces): Made up of more than 90 percent water, naturally lovely frozen watermelon makes a slushy and satisfying drink without the artificial ingredients and added sugars found in daiquiris mixes and other frozen cocktails. Watermelon also adds a dose of fiber to greatly help manage an alcohol-fueled appetite, and lycopene, an antioxidant with anti-cancer properties.
Tastes good with: 1 ounce tequila or even rum. Use a blender to combine until smooth.
7. Muddled Berries (2 ounces): Most fruit-flavored, icy drinks like piña coladas and daiquiris are full of processed sugars. While a couple of berries won't assist you to hit your each day produce needs, the fruit will normally sweeten your beverage and infuse it with vitamins and nutrients. Tastes great with: 2 ounces rum, ½ banana, and ice. Work with a blender to mix until smooth.
8. Low-Cal Orange Juice (2 ounces): Unlike diet soda, that is filled with iffy synthetic sweeteners, reduced-calorie orange fruit juice tends to contain the real stuff, simply watered down. (You can make your own from normal OJ at home, or inquire a bartender to combine equal parts juice and water.) While sugary juice is generally frowned upon as a mixer because it's full of liquid calorie consumption, OJ does contain supplement C. And because weighty drinking is associated with vitamin C deficiency, which can cause fatigue on top of your hangover, it's smart to get a supplementary dose of supplement C when you can. Tastes good with: 1 ounce whiskey and 1 ounce sweet vermouth. Work over ice.
9. Iced Green Tea (4 ounces): Long considered a super food, research accomplished on rats suggests that antioxidant-rich green tea, which contains particular compounds called polyphenols with anti-inflammatory properties, appear to secure the liver from alcohol-induced harm - which obviously can't hurt. Tastes great with: 1 ounce bourbon. Offer over ice.
10. Low-Calorie Soda (6 ounces): While the things doesn't cure cancer or advertise weight loss or anything, soda from manufacturers like Zevia, which is sweetened with the naturally low-calorie sweetener Stevia instead of artificial sweeteners, can taste your drink without contributing tons of calories. Tastes good with: 1 ounce rum or vodka.
11. Ice: By taking up area in your glass, ice replaces extraneous components and leaves little room for extra alcohol and mixers (and the calories therein). It also waters down your beverage as it melts. That's a good thing, especially if you're bad about drinking water on long nights out, which is a time-tested way to combat alcohol's dehydrating effects. Tastes great with: Any of the recipes above.

Healthy Drinking Habit – Reduce Calories In Cocktails
Tumblr media
Calories in cocktail always put you to the unhealthy edge. You may want to cut it off, but the strong, delicious flavors remind you of some delicious sip. Margarita is such a popular cocktail that cast the magic of flavors. It contains 800 calories that are undoubtedly unhealthy from every point of consideration. But if you really love to enjoy cocktails, you can limit the calorie intake. Prepare your favorite cocktails at home and pick fresh options that are good for your health. At the beginning of 2019, promise to yourself – you never avoid your health. Here are some of the best options that reduce the calorie intake in your cocktails.
Choose the right drink:
Every alcohol brand has come up with different nutritional ingredients. The recommended options for your cocktails remain to be classic ones – vodka, gin, tequila, scotch, and whiskey. It contains fewer calories than cream-based liquor.
Simple cocktails are healthier:
Make simple cocktails with the available ingredients. You can avoid juices, syrups, and soda that contain a high level of sugar. You can order a soda neat that can drink slowly and enjoy its flavor.
Enjoy a creative flavor:
When you think creatively to make your cocktails, you will get so many options to enjoy with. Look around and you will get plenty of choices. Prefer seltzer or club soda with the sugar-filled soda, simple syrup, and fruit juices. You can also play with flavors and pick options like green tea, coconut water, and fresh fruit juice.
If you are well aware of different flavors, then making cocktails with some new options will not be difficult for you. Use fresh herbs like mint, rosemary, or cilantro. For adding the citrus flavor, choose lemon or orange. Muddle berries, ginger, sliced cucumber, and a dash of honey add some tastier note to the drink.
Portion control:
If you want to stay healthy, then you have to consider the portion of the drink. Don’t go for the larger drink that contains huge calories. While we understand that the portion control might not be an easy option in restaurants, you can enjoy complete control over your drink.
Drink water and eat food:
You must drink a glass of water after drinking each cocktail. It helps you understand your alcohol intake. You can stop your drink if you feel it is enough. When you eat food after your drink, food helps your stomach digest alcohol easily.
Follow these tips to reduce the calorie level in your cocktail. Visit Mission Liquor to buy spirit online. It is one of the reputed online wine and spirit shop in California. They come up the widest collection so that you can get everything you want.
